haha i guess so...when i did my kitchen cabinets, i totally had no idea what kind of drawers i need, so in the end, my ID just gave us normal drawers and normal shelvings that's all..... i think those who do heavy cooking should know what kind of compartments they want ba...i've seen those who did those long pull out types where they put their sauces and condiments.....quite cool....

what kind of fancy drawers?? I didn't....my interiors very standard and simple nia...

nice....cozy too...very soothing to the eyes....sometimes lightings play a very big role.....

u mean for the kitchen surface top? if she does heavy cooking, chopping all that, best to stick to white or light colours....dark colours, u can see grime, u can see scratches v clearly.....and need to keep wiping to maintain the shininess...alot of work.....consider the functionality and practicality....

i think won't be so heng lar.....if contractor reliable, i think he won't give u sub-standard goods.... i bought the cloth from homefix one.....3M one i think...most effective when used dry....very small piece nia....and i also swear by the jap melamine sponge.....cleans tiles groutlines very effectively mine's solid surface top.....white one but useless lar....not shiny anymore....can see some scratches though not v obvious....

oh really? didn't know that glass will crack also....today i also learn something new i think as long as u maintain it, clean it thoroughly each time after cooking, shouldn't be a problem leh.....i cook occasionally and i make sure i wipe the tiles after cooking.....dun wana trap dirt and grime....very disgusting.....actually got those microfibre cloth, very effective in removing grease....

by metal i take it to mean stainless steel?? actually i not very sure of such thing cos i didn't do the backings....but stainless steel must get good ones....dun get those like ikea ones....mention stainless steel but still will rust kind.. y glass not advisable for heavy cooking? if u clean it each time u finish cooking, then i dun foresee any problem leh...i thought glass is easier to clean?

mine is just tiles.....i seldom cook so stains are not a problem for me...if your mum cooks often, better not to have tiles otherwise the grooves long term will collect dirt and grease....

ya my red kitchen so far ok....cos it was teamed with white.... oh 2K is quite cheap....but need to take note of workmanship.....

but still looks nice lar.....v cosy leh.... i think so....that's y small kitchens is best not to have dark colours otherwise makes the space look even smaller..... how much is the budget?
