  2. Curious to know have you found your solution to planters at balcony? LAst Saturday newspaper had a feature article on landscaped balconies. I called the designer named in the article and guess what: a similar landscaping for my little balcony will set me back $5k! Using Merbau instead of Chengal wood some more! Am still thinking about it...

wow 5K for balcony? thats abit too much i think. btw, what is the difference between merbau or chengal wood??

    thanks in advance

  3. hi kenkoh88, hows the flooring so far? is it hard to maintain?

Just installed Vinyl flooring from Evorich. Managed to get $5psf from them. Initially quoted me $6 as direct homeowner. Just ask them for contractor price and they will ask u for a contractor's namecard and that's it. $5psf+GST. PM me if you need the contact person in Evorich.

For me I chose two colors for my 4 bedrooms. Quality feel very good. No skirting for me. Service top-notch from Evorich. Came back a few times to replace the trimming.

  4. wow, its really quite scary to deal with ID like these... how is it possible that u call on two occassion and the reply are totally different!!!!

i dun not take pic of my friend hse last year when i went over for house warming. but i manage to find their facebook page... http://www.facebook.com/pages/CLC-Interiors-COLOURS-by-Leslie-Chua/109788883509

    haha! hope it helps!

@harleybrian83. Thanks we will look into it. Can you upload some pictures of your friend house renovation? How about the after sales service?

My wife went online to check for CJ Ambience contacts but to our surprise when she call them up the admin told her that the ID(Mr Adrian) whom my wife friend recommended no longer in this company. The second time i tried to call and surprisingly she say he not in at the moment. :furious::bangwall: How can the director of this company quit but the company is still going on? For this two different point it really makes me puzzle. :bangwall: Thats still some time for us to find Mr Adrian or maybe other ID.

Hope to get more information and picture from you> :yamseng: :yamseng:

  5. I agree with u that after service is one of the most important thing that seperate a good ID n average ones. Some ID are hard to make appointment with, cos they are either too busy or they think that ur project scale is too small for them. When are u intending to renovate ur house? Actually u might wanna try COLOURS a shot, they gt quite gd review in this forum and gt past n present client active in this forum. My fren did with them too and i love e concept that they propose. Maybe u can get better deals with them wiyh ur budget! :)

  6. hi royal, i think you need to compare a few more ID instead of just 1 or 2 companies, get a feel of their working style n see if u can accept anot.

then u have to get them to list down all the items in details, ask for breakdown if needed.

please take note that not lowest price is gd, there might be hidden cost. i agree with JusChris that "more importantly u will need to like the design proposed to u, the overall pricing (no additional hidden costs)"

if possible ask them to bring u to their ongoing project which they definitly have (if they dun, something is wrong!)

also take note that different company give different warranty ranging from 1 to many years

do post up pics of ur renovation works on the T blog ya!!!

dear all, we will be getting our new flat key this coming end july. Had went to a few Id company and come back with some quote.

my wife had a online friend recommending CJ Ambience and we did went to view the flat and to our surprise it didnt disappoint us

her flat was well renovated with different style in each room. Well we didint really ask how much they have done for the whole house

as when we require a second viewing they direct us straight to the ID. Anyone came across this company or any ID from them? as both my wife nand me was thinking

is it after few months all the work done by this company are all spoilt or is it after sales service is poor. Some told us after sales service we have to pay a certain amount on repair work. Please advice on this ID and we are finding Mrs Tay to get us more info on your quote and their after sales service. :help: :help: :help:

  7. hi there, possible to share more information about the company u mention???

i bet the carpentry works for e company must be super solid ah? gt how many years warranty?? how much do they charge for items like wardrobe, eg, full height 8ft, 8ft feature wall with tv console?

had been looking thru this forum for quite some time and doing research. but from the way u describe about the capentry works really makes me wonder are you the client or the ID faking as client n do post! apologise if i offended u! :)

Through my ID, I have visited a large carpentry contractor called My ID Factory with a 15,000 ft large factory at 10 Sungei Kadut St 2. This factory is like no other carpentry factory in Singapore and will interested anyone doing carpentry or looking for carpentry.

They make good quality furniture at local prices using large CNC German machines and specialized CAD-CAM fully integrated software to design and manufacture your cabinets. Their factory is Singapore's first European standard carpentry factory and the only one it's kind in Singapore, unlike other small carpentry factories which use simple hand table saws, making their cabinets by hand. Hand made quality differs from carpenter to carpenter and depending on their moods of the day. This factory have a huge stock of laminates and hardware in their factory; do all their ABS edging and laminating in-house, unlike most other carpenters who outsource; doing routing in-house with their Homag German CNC router; all their drawers bases are grooved and slotted with 5.2 mm laminate plywood (not PVC - this will not last compared with laminates) unlike local carpenters who just nailed a 3 mm plywood from the base which often falls out after sometime. All European drawers are grooved and slotted.

The other unique and most important thing to note about them is that they don't use those cheap poor quality white or coloured PVC plywood or slightly better painted Polykem plywood which almost all carpenters use now for cabinet interiors.  They use only HPL or high pressure laminates inside the cabinets. Polykem, a painted board do scratch, dents and give off powder-like paint particles. PVC faced plywood is even worst, they easily peels, scratches, cuts, turned yellow, cracks under sunlight, promotes bacteria growth in wood below once the very thin PVC film or sticker is damaged (that's why hospitals typically don't use PVC for their cabinet inside). Believe me... This factory makes all HPL laminate inside cabinets at PVC inside cabinet prices! What a deal! No carpenter has yet offer this before!  There are 5 standard inside colours, white, off- white, grey, black and a wood grain to choose from. For outside of cabinets like doors, they say that they have more than 750 types of laminates. I saw some wardrobes made there with inside and outside laminates the same with small increase in prices... They only 10%! I checked with my regular carpenter, they cannot do this at the price quoted or even for their 5 standard laminates inside cabinets.

It gets better...Prices include ABS edgings for doors, all soft closing hinges and soft closing drawer slides; and for the wet areas like sinks cabinets or vanity cabinets they provide 4 pcs stainless steel soft closing hinges, something local carpenter will never include for the same price since that stainless soft closing hinges cost some $12 each.  Rusty hinges at sink and vanity cabinets are a problem now since local carpenter don't use stainless steel hinges. If you want they slaughter you with additional prices. Besides laminates, They have a full range of hardware and kitchen and wardrobe accessories like trouser racks, trays, baskets, etc. (see www.donotti.com under hardware) too!

For wardrobe, they charge 10% more for the same laminate (Donotti, Italy only) for inside and outside cabinets. Again no one has offered this before!  Homeowners don't have to a bomb for this anymore and suffer the ugly "White PVC inside" anymore.

I understand they are causing quite a stir in the market with their product offerings and precision manufacturing facility. They are busy and i don't see them ever advertising. Probably because no carpenters or contractors have yet or can offered kitchen or wardrobe cabinets with full laminates inside and outside at PVC prices, including those soft closing hinges, soft closing slides and stainless steel soft closing hinges.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

wowo sound good deal.. Mind share me the contact and company name pls.

Btw how much did they quote u? cos my budget also v tight. Thanks

  8. hi goldfisheye,

i took willy's number the other time as i wanted to see Jcase unit but i think it will not be good as i have not engage them yet... his hp number is 85000107.

for past client feedback, i think all u need to do is to read this thread, alot of postive comments about them!

hi can i have the contact to COLOURS ID? thanks...

seems like COLOURS are quite good in terms of staff and results... any past client feedback??

  9. HAHAHAHAH ! true , hais ya, now adays alot of ppl post as clients ,end up is IDs !! can really see how hungry THEY ARE .

Ya man, are they so hard up for client.

i realise that those thread with company names are usually those who have past clients

or existing one who are renovating with them...

treads like "ID or contractor to recommend" i suspect that there are a numbers of ID pretending

as past client and recommending their own company!

Are business that bad that u need to do this???

To those ID pretending as client, IF your track records are clean, start a tread with your company name

and ask for feedback... this way, we can better tell the reputation of the ID company

i beieve Good IDs firm dont require to advertise cos by the word of mouth of their past client, they can go beyond advertising!

  11. I would like to clarify that these users (magma, sufferer87, truth0007, buoyant9090) belong to the same person.

What was written in this forum was made out of impulse due to miscommunication between Ciseern and me.

I sincerely apologise for my actions and would like to withdraw all remarks made against Ciseern.

wahahahaha... beware people... lots of IDs using multiple accounts posting as clients!!!

  12. Thats great, thanks. Maybe I ask Willy to help arrange a short visit just just before HO, don't really want to intrude your moving in. :D

harleybrian, our project starts only next year. I guess its already quite unusual??? Initially, there were miscommunication on our start date and the team was about to kick off their preliminary works.

hey Yknpearl, when will be visiting? im thinking of asking my fren to pass me Willy's number

and hopefully he can arrange a viewing for me too....

Jcase, hope you dun mind if i tag along too! :yamseng:

  13. ""jus bought an exec mans. still looking for a reasonable renovation to do up my house. when to chew but the quote was **** high. about 70k for toilet, kitchen, living rm, balcony/shelter, rewiring, painting. 70k shack lah... ""

go look for other IDs to compare prices and quality given la... there are alot of Gd ID recommended by ppl, but also gt alot fake ID posting here.

i think business quite bad for those ppl then they engage ppl to keep promoting their company! hahaha

  14. getting contractor to do up your house will definitly be less costly as compare to engaging IDs.

Difference between contractor n ID i believe is

    Contractor

    - do what you ask for, not much advise given

    - dun hv after sales serivce

    - cheap

    - have to coordinate the project yourself

    - example if carpentry work screw up, they will just say its ur fault as they only do what they are told

(this experience is gain after my uncle engage a contractor, dunno if apply to all)

    ID

    - some give ridiculous pricing

    - Provide u with 3d so that u can visualise the outcome

    - coordinate your project

    - anything wrong you can go after them

    - if carpentry work screw up, they will bear all cost n redo till you satisfied

    one more thing...

i realise that those thread with company names are usually those who have past clients

or existing one who are renovating with them...

treads like "ID or contractor to recommend" i suspect that there are a numbers of ID pretending

as past client and recommending their own company!

To those ID pretending as client, IF your track records are clean, start a tread with your company name

    just my 2cent of thoughts

  15. Wow another client with colours. Yknpearl, what kind of design are you looking at? When is Ur place is tenanted till?

i am also looking for design n ID nw, my hse will be ready only in 2014! Haha. I super kiasu!

Oh willy is e sales guy for u too? How is he? My friend said he's very good! Haha. Oh ya i think they mention gd stuff abt Jeremy too. What i can say of colours after doing some research and hearsay is that their team are different from other IDs. Think i should enage them when my hse is ready!

Yknpearl, do post pics of ur unit when you start ur reno ok, i believe it will benfit those who wish to enage colours.
