Ya I forgotten about that! Hmmz, you are right, shower screen no need to get the ID to do it; doesn't make sense if its cheaper to buy on my own. Other than Blesglass are there any other shops that you know of? Thanks! I am worried about the coordination, because if something goes wrong and not sure who's fault because its a grey area, everyone will start pointing fingers... Any photos of your carpenter's works? Do give me his contact if possible... Thanks for your help too!

For IDs, after doing my 'rounds', found that they are more or less the same in terms of pricing; of course lets not talk about those 'fly-by-night' contractors lah. Singapore is a small country; there can't be a big variation in terms of contracting services, and likelihood is that some of those IDs that you had approached are using the same subcontractor! Thus for wifey and me, the most impt is the service and their design knowledge, because that is unique for each ID and forms the basis of our selection criteria. -

Yup, that's true, but think you replying to wrong person. Anyway I think bellyheng is saying that if the future buyer is offering a good price but on condition that the wall is reconstructed, then of course we will do it lor... -
Hi, I went to Space Vision today - the showroom is impressive and after going thru their portfolio, its really my type of design! But ya, quite expensive, cuz they are 'real' interior designers with proper ID training from TP, NAFA, Raffles Arts School, etc. Another point is because other than carpentry works, they do not have any other contracting services; everything also outsource, but given their designer's standard, I am sure they only outsource to the good ones, so high costs lor. Die, sekali I love the design but budget bust how?? Sighz...life's hard...

Is There Anything I Can Do?
zirhk3355 replied to zack's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
By vacant unit, it usually means that the owner/s must remove all fixtures, furnishings and other bulky items - main issue: Charges incurred to remove such items. As for rubbish, I would see that you have a case only if the amount of rubbish is so huge that requires engaging professional cleaning company and even incurring haulage charges. If its just a bit of dirt and some bags of unwanted items, then actually you are not covered. Remember the OTP says vacant unit, not "clean" unit. When one moves out from a unit, bound to have some rubbish one mah. Take it easy lah, focus your energy on happy things, like your reno and getting a new home! -

Hehe, that's provided that if you want to build the WIW in the room mah. If you can make use of the living area or any area outside of the room, then its possible. If the layout is right, don't even need to do hacking... -

Strange leh, I kept accessing it but no problems leh! Anyway I do not have any external views for my flat, except for the video. All the pics are internal and the facade of the 3 blocks only... The video is here: (You have to be abit patient with the video, as I only filmed the view towards the end of the video...Hehe...) Woah, that's bad news leh! Let's hope they change the masterplan...? -

Ya I also think the Ghim Moh bus interchange (or terminal) can't be occupying the whole area. Agreeing, a condo seemed to be more likely than any shopping centres, given the OneNorth nearby... I duno how to use yahoo or flickr leh...? Why you can't see ah? What's the error message? BTW, you mean you had selected a unit at Holland drive? Are there SERS replacement flats at holland too? -

If already got Clemanti hub, then I dun think will have another Commonwealth hub. Too close liao, somemore got Tiong Bahru Plaza also. I just hope that they will build a nice nice bus interchange, so surely won't be very high mah, then won't block my view!! And ya, margaret drive will be the extension for dawson place, that five 'green' blocks with solar panels and all. Do you know how tall it will be? Why don't you start a new thread? In this thread only Tanglin Halt people will see, if none of us using the firm, your question will be lost liao... -

Our prata bro is taking Blk 89 also, not Blk 91. There was some problems with the loan hence the delay lor... It was clearly mentioned that the $30k is from the compensation amount mah, if you have surplus after paying off your loan and cpf. Eg if your compensation is $120k, outstanding loan $30k and cpf contributing to paying off the loan is only $50k, then you have $40k in surplus. Hence, you can take $30k in cash and $10k will offset your new flat's price. Actually not very fair also right, should be given $40k cash in total, since it is in surplus. But govt can never lose out to us citizens mah, what to do... -

Yup, that will be great! !! After yesterday, I realised that I had been slacking and didn't do my search for IDs properly, so till now I also duno what need to be done and whatnots, and the rates for each type of works to be done. Maybe I was too dependent on that designer friend of mine to help me...now I am quite uncertain about him... -
Ok, thanks alot! Will check them out...

Biometric (finger Print) Lock Group Purchase
zirhk3355 replied to lukecas's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I see the biometric lock not so much for ultimate security, but just an added convenience of not needing to bring the keys. In any security system, there are bound to be loopholes, but its the level of difficulty for criminals to find those loopholes. In particular, if I intend to break into someone's house, I think its easier to steal his keys instead of trying make a latex/silicon/photocopy of his fingerprints! -
