  2. Hello! I am new here and your thread at t-blog was the very first I saw. Your flat is gorgeous! I'm thinking of doing a scandinavian inspired design for my flat in future (still a long way to go though).

Is it convenient for you to let me know the contact of your contractor? it would be a great help to me! btw, how much did you spend in total for renovations(excluding furniture)?

Wanted to pm you but it states that you aren't able to receive pms. thanks so much in advance :D

    Hi riotvan

Thanks for liking my humble place, I had pm-ed you my contactor's contact

  3. Congrats paloma!! Seems like more and more formmers like this kind of style of designs.. Some ask for K's number at my blog and also ask for the same at ur blog hahaha.. He should be getting busier real soon...

Wanted to go visit ur place soon but he too busy to drive me there =.= haha...

  5. Hi Pinkwhale,

    You've a very stylish place!

I'm looking for a reliable contractor, would you mind sharing his contact?

Just wondering, would the gouting of the kitchen be difficult to wash and scrub? Are such concrete structures cheaper than normal wood and laminates?

    Hi theitsybits

    Thanks!

    I had pm u my contractor's contact

Hmm as for the kitchen grout, though I haven't really started doing much cooking yet but I agree it should be tougher to maintain as more regular cleaning is necessary.

But I believe its only the sink and stove area that is dirtier. But my self condolence theory is that after 1 or 2 yrs I can easily re-apply the white cement for those area that I cannot stand and they can start all over again and this can be easily DIY at a super low cost just need to spend some time.

But still I will not recommend if u want very very easy maintenance. Otherwise u can choose black grouting instead of white. Now I got little bit regret for not doing white tiles and black lines haha... To make my kitchen looks much brighter..

As for the price I think it's not much cheaper but also depending on which material you use...

  6. It from lush lush. Go take a look.

oh... seems like they have new chairs design... saw something similar in star furniture and price very reasonable, just some specs not meeting my requirement. usually lush lush is at least 2X higher in price..

GSS is coming.. will check lush lush out again.... thanks...

  7. Dining table Simply love this table. Simple and nice.

Btw, can you share where you buy this dining table?... I'm eyeing the chairs featured in ur photo... Thanks in advance...

  8. Today's highlight is my Suar Wood dining table :dancingqueen:

Let the pictures do the talking...

As it is a natural piece thus there are some area of imperfection, but I guess that's where the beauty lies, its the raw and imperfection that made it unique and you need to learn to accept and love it as it is :- just like ur spouse... hahaha...

Hope you enjoyed it as much as I do...

  9. Nice house!

Can i check with you on how did you use hang the bulb from Ikea for MBR toilet to give the"spider" effect?

We wanted to do the same but can't think on how to do it. =)

    Hi Woon

Thanks... This is how we did it. I think there are other better and nicer options, but I chose to do it the more industrial way.

If you want to do it the same way as mine, you just show this pic to ur electrican they will know it.

  11. Hi,

Read your t-blog and really like how you did the kitchen counters. Congrats on your new place and your moving in soon (now end april)

Could you pm me your contractor's contact details and the rough figure for the kitchen if possible? Can advise where & price of the bird nest stool on the balcony? Thanks.

    Hi Sunsetsky

    I had pm-ed you my contractor's contact.

    Thanks...

The bird nest stool I got it from oddjects at orchard central, think the usual price is around $69, I got it at 30% off...

  12. Hi Pinkwhale,

your place looks great! I am considering using contractor too instead of ID, since my SO and I have quite a good idea of what we want. Able to share your contractor's contact and quotations? Does he communicate via email? TIA!

I see that your kitchen is 2.2m wide yet you did two rows of counter top. Do you feel if the standing space is tight? Able to share the depth of your counter tops and width of standing space? My kitchen is 2.4m and considering two rows too.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Hi^^

Thanks for visiting my Tblog and liking my place. I had pm-ed u my contractor's contact. Think it will be more accurate for u to ask him for a site survey and quotation directly. He is mandarin speaking and actually writing too.. Haha.. His English quite CMI kind. Maybe u check if u r comfortable working with him first, incase u r more English speaking.

My counters are 60cm deep thus 2 counters took away 1.2m+ and I measured the walking space after the counter is completed, left 90cm. It is not very spacious but still ok if not too fat, 2 person can pass without touching each other's butt.

For ur 2.4m is surely better than mine!!

  13. I like your lightings!

Can you share where and how much did you get the dining pendant lamp?

For the toilet pendant lights from IKEA, are they the $5 ones? The little inverted cones (hat?) above the bulb, did you add them in or they come with it?

    Thanks!

Thanks for liking the 鱼头炉 light, I bought it from lightcraft at jalan sultan for around $120 I think I couldn't remember so clearly but I think I did mentioned the exact location and price in my earlier post..

Yes those light bulb cord is the $5 ones from ikea. I didn't add anything, I just buy the cord and bulb then install that's it. No $ to buy the branded lightbulb like mega and work lamp so this is my best alternative.. ^^

  14. Actually subway tiles lovers not only 2.. So many in renotalk, just some of them maybe not so active.

Bigbag uses the honeycomb for her floor too.. But too bad she is not sharing any further, she was the only one I know at that time also using honeycomb..

If I have the budget I also want to overlay my toilet wall to subway tiles..

My take between the grout line color is use black one.. Cos since u use that dirty look tiles for the feature then u can complete the whole look with black grout line for subway tiles if not ur subway is way too white. Like very clean vs dirty look feature and when the subway becomes not so clean in the long run that vs feel is gone..

  15. Dear Pinkwhale,

its pig again. Haiku fan strong?

Do u have any experience with other ceiling fans before? Can share?

    Hi WonderPig

Hmm the Haiku has 7 speed and all the time I'm using speed 3 only and the whole sofa area is cool enough. The strength of the wind is good enough for me so far and it's quiet unless u goes up to speed 7 then u can hear the sound of the wind..

I do not have experience with other fan cos our parents home do not have a ceiling fan.

But I was initally considering kdk fan too.. Just becos haiku is much nicer and of better energy efficient so I paid the price.

  16. Hi Pinkwhale,

I have just visited my new place for the very first time in Punggol, was still uncertain on how we should do up our house. That was until my wife showed me your blog and immediately I have the answer. I love your place, its very unique!

I like the way how your contractor response to your needs and how responsible he/she is to your reno work. Thus, if you don't mind sharing could you PM me the details of your Contractor?

    Thank you !

    Zhenhan

    Hi zhenhan82

I had pm-ed you. Hopefully i will continue to hear from u.. It's nice knowing estate neighbors with similar taste..

    Good luck to u!!
