  1. Had wanted to update earlier but it slipped my mind as this thread was quiet for a while..haha. Well, I am happy to report that my sofa was returned to me earlier than promised (almost a week) and there was no sign of further defect. Interestingly, I had called them just to enquire about whether the delivery will be on time and before I know it, I got a call back the following day saying its ready. Not sure if it expedited the delivery but I did mention that I would like to have it returned in time for my house warming as there will be guest who may be potential customers. ;-) I have been enjoying it for more than a month now and I must say it still feels great. Overall experience is that although you may need to send reminders at times, but most important is that they deliver. I hope this standard continues with their warranty promise although I hope not to have the chance to experience it. lol.
  2. Bought a stainless steel Noble sink recently for my new house. Within weeks of installation, there are signs of rust like effect. Called agent and they claimed that it may be caused by the acid used for cleaning by contractor. Strange thing is, i have a hob installed close to the sink and no such effect. Agent came onsite to apply brasso and said that this will neutralise the acid effect. Will wait a week or two to see if true. Anyone else with this experience?
  3. The folks from EL just came to check on a defect that i had reported when my sofa was first delivered in january. The defects were found on the center piece of my 3 seater. Kudos to them, they agreed to take it back to replace the leather after they verified that it was a genuine defect. Was told it will be returned before the end of the month as they need to send the piece back to their factory in malaysia. Will update further on their aftersales quality. So far, i have to admit the sofa has been fantastic.
  4. Just a quick update on my situation. The sofa was delivered on the day and time as promised by EL, great job. Nonetheless, there was some minor defect on the middle seat of my 3 seater. I have liaised with EL (including sending him pictures) and he has promised to arrange for their technical expert to come to check after CNY. Hopefully it is not something major and I will keep this between the company and myself for now. As for the sofa, defects aside, it is very comfortable and the motorised recliners at the 2 ends are pretty cool.
  5. 1st disappointment: Was just told that there has been some delay and delivery today is not possible. Was only told this after I called them to check timing. Imagine if i didn't take initiative to call. To think that i tried to change delivery date last week but was told cannot because schedule & shipment already confirmed. Will update after the admin lady get back to me.
  6. Finally, the 3 seater sofa with double recliner that I order is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Strangely, no timing is provided. Hopefully it will be an uneventful delivery. Looking forward to enjoying it.
  7. How's your experience BuyNow7? Received your sofa?
  8. I had dealings with him before. His modus operandi is simple. 1. Give a quotation that usually comes with a discount so that it is more attractive that others, 2. Tell you he needs payment (preferably cash/TT) to secure his fully loaded schedule, 3. Turns up on first day (usually late coz he needs to buy material), 4. Leaves his 2 indian/bangla workers to do the job, 5. Continues to be contactable and shows up before 2nd payment is due, 6. Agrees to every and any thing you want, 7. Chases for 2nd payment (preferably cash/TT) very punctually as soon as wiring us done, 8. Goes MIA from here on, doesn't answer calls or sms, 9. Worker will tell you to pay more if you want job completed coz he is doing job but doesn't get the money, 10. Customer is entrapped. If he does this for 1 or 2 customers, maybe it can be put down as clever business. But if there are many people caught by this, then it is clearly a pre-meditated attempt to entrap and cheat. Perhaps the group of 'cheated' customers can jointly lodge a police report. Let them investigate.
  9. Anyone knows which hotel is he currently having a project with? As I understand it, it is somewhere in middle road/bencoolen area. Perhaps his commercial customers will be interested to know what he has been up to.
  10. Hi EL, I've finally found the time to drop by at the Expo to order my sofa. I was served by your colleague, Mr Richard, who I must say is very patient and certainly knows his products well. Due to some reasons, I did not order the L-shaped sofa but decided on a 3 seater with double powered recliner instead. My order also had some specific changes to the original design, which Richard noted in the s/o. However, at the point of issuing the s/o, I informed him that I could only confirm the colour later that night. I called him a couple of hours later to confirm the colour and he also agreed to include the leather cleaner on delivery as a sign of customer service. As these 2 information were not written in the s/o, should I be concern? Would you be able to follow-up on this to ensure there is no missing info in the order sheet? For the record, I ordered the sofa in the colour white (which strangely looks a little light brownish), and my sales order # is 20709. Richard has scheduled for the sofa to be delivered on 9th Jan 2012 and I am certainly looking forward to it. As mentioned in my earlier post, looking at the way you have handled yourself and represented your company, I am confident that I will become one of your many happy customer. Hope I will not be disappointed. Cheers, Twins
  11. Er, Jenius, still waiting for your answer. You sound very knowledgable and I assume that the company you are from is a bona fide leather sofa business of high quality. There may be fans of this forum who are sincerely looking for good leather sofa to purchase from a reliable and honest company.
  12. Hey Jenius, Based on your last statement, your action seems to be to create unnecessary inconvenience for your fellow business fellows. Hope I'm wrong. In any case, if you are still keen to show the consumers that EL is not being too honest here, perhaps you can buy one of their sofas and post the warranty card info here once you have it in hand. Alternatively, if you so strongly believe that what EL has declared amounts to misrepresentation, perhaps you should consider reporting them to the unfair business practise bureau (if there is one). What do you think? Time to put your money where your mouth is.
  13. What will be deemed as industrial standard for deposit. Please share. Thanks.
  14. Hi Dave, I agree with you fully. As customers, we only want piece of mind. Will EL oblige? Thanks.
  15. Hey Jeanius, may I know which company you work for, just in case there are potential customers here that may want to consider buying sofas from a company of a different league to EL. Please be honest here. Thanks.
