    Hi bro! You staying at Blk 108 rite? Hehehe i'm staying in the same blk with you. We are neighbours.... i on the 4th floor sharing the very same lift you use everyday. Lol

    Regarding the reno for our 3rm flat.. its all roughly around 35-40k. I did mine at 40K flat as i bought my flat at 87k, thats why can fork out abit more for the reno. You may check out my signature. Maybe you can catch some ideas from my reno blog or you can also pay me a visit and take a look around if you want. :)

    Its been a long time since i updated my thread. For the string curtains, i have yet to install as i'm quite busy with work and furthermore i'm still sourcing for a good supplier as string curtains doesn't come cheap. !!

    S$50 for string curtains??? Oh my god thats dirt cheap man. You know... i went to those curtain shops and ask for string curtains ah... they quote me 200+ lei. Goodness.. cut throat ah.

    Hee...hee... there additional rm is right at the back of the kitchen, is like some big box attached to the kitchen. Unless u don mind walk naked from ur room thru the living rm, pass the kitchen then to ur WIW. !!

    Hahahahaha can wrap towel one mahhh.... dohhh. Lol... i not sexy enough to walk naked around the house lah. Keke

    DBSS is design build and sell scheme. Like the ones in Tampines, 3 room went for like 128k and up i think. Its HDB bulit by pte developers. Have built in cabinets, aircon, and special features like balconies for some units. People chiong like crazy. Got new one in boon keng coming up, but based on the super good response, they are raising the price. Bleh.

    3 room get get up to 89 sqm u know? the 22 year old types with a dining area between the 2 bedrooms. There are like 4 units selling in Jurong west now having sizes bigger than 85 sqm going for 126k. Worth it man but quite far. If i knew there were such units I would have bought it cos i work at NTU. imagine 89sqm for a 3 room :yamseng:! the potential of it.. drool drool

    Hmm okay lah.. i bought my 83sqm 3 room for 83k from HDB leh. 40k more for that extra 6sqm. Hmm.....

    3 1/2 room is those upgrade 3 rm with one additional room provided (usually veri small). My parent place in Boon Lay Way have 3 bedroom, two big plus one small rm behind the kitchen. :yamseng:

    Wah sounds interesting leh. Never heard of it before. !! How nice if i can upgrade my flat to a 3 1/2 room too. Hehe then i can convert that room into a walk in wardrobe.

    oh oh ok ok I thought your rooms were behind the TV side. ahahah silly me. I think I am addicted to 3 roomers. Next flat I wish to get is a 3 1/2 type or those with the utility area from the upgrade, but most in toa payoh and holland sadly. How I wish they would do a total upgrade to my estate instead of just a half hearted one.

    Aiyah buy a DBSS one next time lah. save money from reno, save headache and time also.

    Got 3 1/2 room flat one meh? What is DBSS?

    Haha there are two doors opposite my tv console in my living room just beside my sofa.

    maybe yr FIL do the kerb is for fengshui purpose? prevent wealth from "flowing" out easily

    The kerb is to prevent water from getting into your house in events of rain. Its a must have otherwise whenever it rains... you have to mop and mop and mop. Same goes for the kerb between your bathroom and your bedroom. Its also to prevent water from sipping into your room.

    I am going to do reno in december. Most prolly going for contractor because of financial constraints. We went to a few IDs , though we haven't got the quotes yet, i think it should be rather expensive....

    The house style is really passe...too outdated. I want a modern and cozy home...

    Any suggestions? Pls feel free to throw it to me....

    I like ur TV consol and kitchen the most, esp the feature wall veri unquie as for kitchen do u guy cook alot.

    Cos I have been ban by Mrs Cantona to cook w/o her permission. :D

    Hehe thanks dude... nope we dun cook alot except for some simple meals. My Mrs haven acquired the skills of cooking proper meals yet. Hehe now loading her with recipe books.. Hehe will be doing more cooking in the near future. !!

    How come you've been banned by Mrs Cantona from cooking? You must have created a massive mess after cooking rite? keke

    i Really like your hse design

    I engaged my friend's ID firm Linewerkz Pte Ltd to do up my house. After service not bad except for some slight delays due to overwhelming projects on hand. Overall i like the design they came out with and thats about it. You may wan to give them a shot.

    Now on the things I want to buy..

    1. Denon AVR4306 receiver...about $2600

    2. PS Audio A-Trio 100 power amplifier about $1800 or Naim NaiT5i Stereo Integrated Amplifier about $2300

    3. Samsung LCD TV 46" can;t remember the model number but the its the latest 1920x1080 Full HD about $7000

    4. Thiel CS24 Front speaker, yet to listen - $6500 or Sonus Faber Grand Piano Domus - $5200

    5. Sonus Faber Domus Center - $1450

    6. Surround - not decided yet about $1500 to $1600 range

    7. Ceiling Fan...saw this nice ceiling at Parkmall and saw in a US website called G Squared http://www.g2art.com should be expensive...if too ex will drop the idea

    8. Fridge still looking budget $1300

    9. Washing Machine still looking budget $1000

    I will forget about toilet stuff, sink, hob, hood for the moment, BUT must have rain shower, I like it so much, maybe pampered by all the traveling in 5 stars Hotel....so nice after a hard day work.

    10. Yes, Oil canvas painting, hmm budget $1000, but if have chance or got time think should go Thailand, sure can get cheap cheap

    11. Saw 1 2 seater in Cellini, about $2000 squarish design not bad and 1 at Castilla 2 seater as well about $3000 which is nicer...will decide later

    12. Lightings as I have mentioned, no fanciful lightings, maybe budget $1000

    I guess that's about it....all in all with Renovation at about close to $50k...total will be about $85k....big hole in my pocket come year end, luckily year end got bonus to cover.

    Guess have to wait till I sell off my current unit before can think of changing car....sigh.....Civic 1.8 or MarkX or Camry or Lexus IS250 or BMW 323i.......getting more expensive.......scary...luckily bought my watch else have to postpone that as well...hehe

    Ehh 46" LCD teebee for 3rm? Thats huge leh.. wish i can have such a big tv like you but for me 36" is more then enough liao... :jawdrop:
