  1. Hi yoongf, thanks for the advice. much appreciated!
  2. Thanks yoongf. Really appreciate the advice. Is it common that most aircond trunking is done this way? I have seen before in the reno t-blogs that the aircond trunking is typically on top. Thats why I find it strange when its done at the bottom. And its weird to see a gap between my furniture and my wall.
  3. Hi Guys, Need some advise. I'm in the midst of my renovation and I have just installed my aircond. But the problem is the contractor did the drain pipe trunking at the bottom of the room, just above the skirting (see picture below). Can I check if anybody here can advise if this is normal? I told the contractor I wanted it at the ceiling - just below my L-box. But he argued that this is the aircond drain pipe and must have a gradient....and its not possible to put it at the ceiling. My main concern is that if the trunking is at the bottom, then I cant put by bed against the wall? There will be a gap. Hope someone can advise me on this. Thanks.
  4. Hi Guys, I'm thinking of going over to JB to buy a ceiling fan. And I'm staying in a HDB 3NG unit. Can I check what size should I be getting for my living room? Is 56inch too big? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi Jerome, Would appreciate it if you can provide price quotation for the following: Cooker hood: Fujioh FX900 Fridge: MRV45C Thanks.
  6. Hi Guys, I'm in the midst of my reno and I need help to estimate the cost of re-wiring my entire 3NG HDB unit. Here's the breakdown on the things I need to get done. 26 X Lighting points 4 X double power sockets 8 X single power sockets 1 X Aircond point 2 X heater points 1 X telephone points 1 X cooker hob point 1 X SCV point 1 X replacement DB Can experts here estimate the cost of the above inclusive of installation? Thanks.
  7. i think its normal IDs take a couple of days to get back to you. WHen i was ID hunting, most of them also get back to me after 2 to 3 days. the worst ones takes 1 to 2 weeks. but then again, i prefer the ID to take their time to review my floor plan rather than rushing out a quote for me. At least i know they are not slip shot about it.
  8. Hi George2, Truly appreciate all the info. I'm actually getting my keys next month and its a re-sale unit. Good idea on the sketches and drawings. I'll ask him about it the next time i meet him or Tony. And yes, its truly an exciting journey renovating my first home. From an old 30+ year old unit, building it again from the ground up. And to add significance and how meaningful my new home will be, I have a baby on the way
  9. Hi Guys, Just an update. Got in touch with Tony and I guess I got ahead of myself From now till end of March there's sufficient time to prepare. Should be meeting up with him soon to discuss the details of the reno. Feel alot better after talking to him and looking forward to my reno!
  10. Hi george2, Thanks for the info. Gave me a peace of mind. As this is my first reno, was very confused on the entire process and sequence of events. Not sure what comes first and what comes later. Perhaps I should also be abit more pro-active and start to schedule appointments with him.
  11. I dont have 3D design because my package doesnt include carpentry (i have my own carpenter).
  12. Hi Guys, How soon before renovation starts should tiles and materials be selected? And what are the things that needs to be prepared before renovation starts?
  13. haha....thanks simon. Dont mind can PM me his contact? Keen to engage him. Will be receiving my keys by end of March.
  14. hi guys, just want to check. I've been reading that Henry is the uncle-type. I'm ok with that. But can he converse in English? My mandarin cannot make it. The last thing i want is to have communication problems with my contractor
  15. Thanks friends78. Can I know if Henry provides advise on things like color selection on tiles, design of kitchen cabinet, tv console, etc. as a new home owner, of the of te biggest problems is tat we have too many ideas. hence, sometimes all the difference ideas comes together resulting in a "rojak" house. I need someone to advise me on what color goes well with another color, etc.
