  1. Moving in No! We have not moved in yet, but someone yet had..... The Ants Family! I stare and trace their activities for almost 15mins, found their nest hiding inside the toilet ceiling corner, it was hidden behind the sewage pipe, didn't realise there's a big lobang there! They works in pair and one of them is carrying food into their nest, I trace their food source, and found its from the rubbish chute (a big disadvantage for living in a old flat!). What can I do??
  2. Those egyptian bedsheets not cheap lor!!! By the way, base on your experience, how many threadcount and which material type is the most comfortable. I can look out for it during sale, or buy it when strike toto.
  3. Just an ordinary looking bed base, made of pvc. Buy it not because we like it, its just that we want to move it soon. Shall wait for it to spoilt lor.
  4. Lots of hiccups from our painter, we use him because he did a great job in one of my SO's company project. Unfortunately, he's not able to find workers to help in the house, mainly he is doing alone, painting only. So the walls are not sand, not plaster and painting work caanot finish within the dateline.. My SO 'screw' him a few times, but still no improvement. My contractor also cannot tahan the work, and offer to help. He activated his men and within hours, 7 workers came in with ladders, roller, plaster, bla bla bla. One in charge of plastering, walking around the house to look for holes, especially along trucking, and patching it up, one in charge of sanding, another 2 paint upstair, 2 paint downstair, and 1 touch up the stair. i'm really impressed! 2 days anf they complete the house.... Cheers to them This is their work on our children's room. My SO outline the cloud on the wall, and they paste the maskig tape neatly before they paint, simply awesome!
  5. I went to their website and found what i wanted, I like the platform bedframe!!! But how now? I called up my mattress supplier last week to get me those simple looking low bedbase and i have already paid them in full. Me too, i can't wait to move in and open ceremony my sofa.
  6. Our sofa came in the middle of a messy house with capentry installation and painting. We got no choice as the sofa maker is making lots of noise for using their place as storage. The sofa was ready 2mths ago, and i feel so pai seh to keep delaying the delivery. My sofa new clothes! Love it!
  7. Got this at light craft for less than $10. Motion sensor at the foyer, our contractor, electrician and us having some fun testing it. Lucky its not a big area, if not this will not be good enough, and there's a few second slow before the light will lid up. Anyway, it works!
  8. My blum accessories are here!
  9. The 14" mattress that I got, very comfortable! Last year I went for a business trip to shanghai, and had a chance to stay in a 6* hotel. The bed is soooo comfotable that you just wish you can lie there all day. Found out from the tour manager that for all 5* hotel and above, their bed sheet, quilt, quilt cover and pillow must be silk quality, you can imagine, how comfortable it can be. From then on, I promise myself that my next bed must match up to that. Since I can't afford a pure silk mattress, at least the comfot level can match. Not the best but at least its within my budget.
  10. We took forever to move in.. Hahaha! Basically, we only move in with 2 lugguages, every week bring something over. In fact I never really moved out, still got alot of rubbish in my parent's house
  11. Does the divan comes in one piece or two pieces join together?
  12. Getting ready! :jawdrop: Raining cats and dogs in the afternoon... Verdict - definitely cannot compare to real parquet but this is a good substitute, feel solid, cooling and no floating effect. Overall it fit our lifestyle.
  13. I got it at poh choo and the shop beside universal union along geylang. Ours is king size so i think should fit nicely, but I can only drool.... Mine is a 14" mattress is from sweet dream, not a very popular brand but the comfort level can be comparable with those top brand top range type but at a reasonable price. We tested most of the bed during the expo fair and decided on this.
  14. Welcome to tblog and all the best n your renovation. Just a note, although you are not in a hurry to move in, it is still better to give them a reasonable timeline. In our 1st home, we also give them ample time to complete, telling them you can do slowly but give me quality work!! I was so wrong... They really take their time, mine was not a priority, got free worker then come and do abit, the whole renovation took us 6mths! Its very tiring for us because the trip going up and down and seeing nothing was done, bought electronics, furniture and dunno when can deliver and etc etc... Just very tiring lah!
  15. Now that we have decided not to build a platform in our bedroom, we have to look for bed frame or etc. we have been to many places to look for one that fits us. To be honest, I have yet to accept not having platform we never had a bedframe or bed base before and even in my in law place, I never failed to bruise myself by it. So ideally, it should be frameless and low lying. Chance upon this when shopping at Park Mall, but cannot afford, it costs more than my platform! Anyone can point me the direction where I can find similar bed frame? If really can't find, then we will get duvet or microfible bedbase.
  16. Tomorrow will be my flooring installation. We have chosen the Aspen Oak Black for both the living and dinning, hope it turns out nice.... Can't wait!
  17. I'm happy if it can last for 10yrs, thereafter will have upgrade their bed. Ikea has lousy mattress, not suitable for the heavy duty. I think it should be ok for young children.
  18. Woohoo.... Look what's here! I am really gateful to my carpenter. He really speed up the work for me knowing that we wanted to move in quickly.
  19. Now you see it... Now you don't... Happy happy!! Thanks to my contractor!
  20. Ghey are coming 5 and 2. This Kura bed is standard single size so it should be ok until they reach primary school. Thanks for the tips, and I also heard about the uncomfortable slats. I shall recycle the wooden plank from the old bunk bed left behind by the previous owner. For ventilation, we bought a clip on mini fan for the lower bunker. But I got a feeling my younger one will either squeeze with her jie jie upstair or contnue to co-sleep with mummy.
  21. Other than painting the children's room, we have done nothing to it. And since the lifespan of their room is short, we shall keep it simple and inexpensive. We went to ikea to check out their beds and furnishing, and found that the height of the kura bed fits both of my little princess. Decided to diy and paint it pink, search the net for inspirations and realised there are so much ideas that i can explore... My girl wanted this!
  22. WOW 60"!!!! Mine is only 46" and I'm already starting to feel it's abit too small for my living room. Not sure if can change or not?
  23. Shall temporary use this ikea foldable bar stool while we search for permanent dinning chair. Since it is foldable, we can keep it in the store for the occasional party.
  24. It took us awhile to look for a nice kitchen faucet and this was love at first sight!
  25. Parquet guy came to fixed my upstair floor.
