Thank you casa Thinking back time really flies and now its about completion It will be a memorable journey for us...since it is our first home, from finding the contractor, tiles selection, looking through the progress, buying all the items we need..sourcing for sanitary lightings...though to me it is very very tiring, but we gained a lot of knowledge from this. Hubby is very lazy to update photos, but I do not have the photos with me..will try to prompt ... Somehow feel lucky to have been recommended to our ID, as he is trustable since we are newbie about renovating house hehe... Today, we realized that the shower bath placement section is missing, all the time we thought we can put the shower bath on a big hole area inside the toilet. Until, the shower screen is installed, we realized inside the shower area, there is no place we can get our shower gel at all Then after asking around our colleague, who also using the same ID, told us to follow her style by shaping triangle tiles around the corner near to the shower area instead of using glass. We feel it is very constructive idea, thus call our ID to check & he told us will make the arrangement for us (though our chemical wash is completed last monday). I feel our ID is one of a kind & commendable, he just called me again & said he has gone done & do the marking for placing the tiles (yeah) so that we can go back & check later if it is acceptable. It is super responsive & he updated us due to my last minutes request (I think i always have a lot of last mins request, my ID is quite patient), our completion may be delayed till next tuesday...hehe... Think if we are going to reno again next time (in case if we decided to change after MOP - 5 yrs later) may seek the same ID again. He is not only responsive & also provides good quality workmanship. I told our ID that we did not thoroughly check (as we saw it was quite smooth & walk on it several times, feel ok) & he replied tat we can call him anytime if there is issue..he seems to be confident as well. Actually another reason may be we both are too lazy & do not really know how to check on it...we did ask colleague or relative on how to check (one of our relatives just move in new unit), all of them are using coins. But we feel we may scratch the tiles if we try to knock the coins on the tiles (one of our good excuses). Our ID also challenged us to test on the kitchen cabinets as it is the best time to test open & close (Hubby mom has helped to exercise on this hahaha...may be she feel our kitchen too nice oredy & want to bring to her house instead hahaa...) Talking about kitchen cabinet, our ID is to such extent that he refused to receive our payment when his carpentry workers did not meet his quality & we delayed our payment instead. Actually all of us looked at the kitchen is quite nice...but later he told us that his expectations are not met for the cabinet doors & we are paying him money so he cannot blindly accept the workers' quality. End up the workers had to replace all the cabinet doors & they looked scared when facing our ID hehe...guess our ID is a strict one. We like our house tiles so much hehe shiny shiny types, creamy color, hehe...my favorite & selection (Hubby later said that it was his selection as well). I feel house renovation will also help us reveal the other side of our partner....hope hubby will not read this. Yesterday, we went to buy door bell, and it took an hour for hubby to decide the doorbell, the brand is the same 'Sound tech', it is just a difference that for receiver, one type is using power socket & another one is using battery. Hubby was undecided for so long and struggling..., sometimes for the smallest thing, you may end up decide longer hahaha...for the door bell, i do not want to interfere & let hubby choose one that satisfy his taste & personalities. hahaha...peace... Both of us like the house v much & i hope to move in soon hehehee...though still a lot of furniture items haven't bought. Will buy the necessary first hehe... We just bought our fridge - Hitachi $1099.. Coming is washing machine, intend to get a LG top loader, since both of us used to top load wm...hehe...n cheaper than front load...WFT9561DD, but undecided yet hehe... Then is TV console, TV, dining table set, sofa, bed frame & mattress...more damage to come And need to move,..i have yet to start packing....wowww...busy busy days ahead..... will try to request hubby to post more photos hehe....

Recently, rarely had time to check & most of the time hubby is updating. This time is my turn to update the blog . Renovation is near to completion,..left with touching up & chemical wash. Hubby said that chemical wash is done,...but when I go down n see today, I feel like not so clean as expected. Is it normal that after chemical wash we may still need to clean & wash ourselves...but if there are stain of paints on the window grills I am not sure if it can be cleaned...as it looks a bit turn off when standing on the window. After all the reno works, the paints/ stains seems still around...or may b just will look faded after chemical wash. To summarize our renovation journey, personally I feel it is the most right decision to get the right ID to help with the renovation works in the first place. We looked through a few IDs but some are not shortlisted due to budget & we are also afraid of any hidden costs. As we checked through wit some people, our seller, colleague, housing agents, then we found a few are completed by our ID & review is not bad, so in the end we just go with the safest ID as recommended. Our ID is Roy from IR Design. I think he also did the reno works for some of the forummers here. We/ I felt very satisfied with his work & he is able to help us achieve what we want based on the tiles we chosen, paint color & the theme that we wanted. I feel the most important is we are able to communicate with him & he is also quite responsive when we tell/ clarify things. But things may not be perfect, sum times due to budget we may have to scrap certain ideas to give & take. But overall we like the outcome & feel it is close enough to what we have set on our minds. Our ID also help to box up additional pipe on the kitchen/ additional kitchen cutlery set drawer...without hidden costs. We end up add more carpentry work like shoe cabinet & additional clothes cabinet at our common room. We saw the shoe cabinet at Roy's office which looked so nice that we finally tempted to build in one instead of buying off the shelf. We also gotten our LED lights supplied by Roy. So far it looks very bright..much brighter than our philips lighting at common room. According to Roy, the LED is really energy saving & durable, may last long with 18 months warranty...hope it works just as expected hehe... Lastly, I hope ppl will impress wit the house as we are impressed... Coz we also burn a hole in our pocket with all the renovation & furnishings... Yeah...a few more days to handover & completion of reworks...thanks for dropping by & providing constructive comments during our renovation journey... Hubby will post all the completed pics stay tuned...

hehe thanks for the kind comment, but we decided to stick with vanishing the doors. Cos white also scare will turn dirty easily.

hehe yes think this is the lights that we are most satisfied with.. The only thing is that when we touch the dining lights, we realise that there are some kinds of holes / scratches in the surfaces. Then i called up the lightings shop which we bought from to check. But they told us this is normal cos the mould used to create that dining lights more or less have. They say i can bring down to change but it is only a matter of changing to the same type of dining lights with less holes / scratches. I wonder if this is indeed the case. Anyone have any advise to share on this? Refer to below screenshot with the scratches / holes in the center. Note that it is not noticeable unless u really touch it and also look really hard at it

Hi ayazumi, have some questions to ask you about your kitchen cabinet as follows: Do you all think the wood for the kicthen cabinet should be laminated? Is it normal for wood kicthen cabinet to be laminated? If its not laminated is it normal to get a powdering feel when touching on the wood? When water splashed on the wood do u think it will spoilt easily? Do u think it's easier to get termites for the wooden kitchen cabinet door? Cos when we touch on wood cabinett..it seens to be just raw wood..But we were advise by our ID that this will be the case even after the kitchen cabinet setup is completed -

Spend some time thinking whether to use black glass or frosted glass for this and in the end decide to stick with black glass as frosted glass cant really show a contrast with the white cabinets beside. Area to put my fridge still researching on which exact model to get:
