  1. wow, 30-40% more. I see. I'll check w my ID how much will it cost w plywood. Actually i also thinking of looking for brackets that can hold the mirrors so that it won't drop. Had been contemplating with the use of mirrors. It's really good to "enlarge" the space of my small living room, but cant get past safety issues, especially i'm planning for kids soon.
  2. I have concerns on safety of glueing mirror on wall. Is it really safe just sticking it on the wall. I checked with ID and he mention there'll be no pre-plastering of wall before sticking. Which means if the wall is uneven, actually the glue contact is reduced. Another way is to stick ply wood on the wall then stick the mirror on the wood so that the adhesion is better. Any one tried this method b4? is it better? It comes with extra cost though. Anyone knows where to get cheap 3M anti glass crack film to stick onto the mirror?
  3. Thanks all for suggestions. Apologies was away for a while. Please take a look at the first cut 3D and feel free to comment!!
  4. Thanks sis! We has the same ID
  5. Thanks. My place is at ghim moh. Yes you are right. It was already written some of the selected tiles no acid wash. We checked with ID. Usually acid is used to remove cement stain. As the tiles cannot be acid washed, they will be covered up to prevent accidental staining. Thanks . well i'm planning to use the common room for guest and future kid. So will not be connecting the 2 rooms into 1. After discussion with ID, we decided to swop the position of bed and wardrobe. I'll be having a 7ft wardrobe with about 370-400mm walk space. We'll design the wardrobe such that the portion in front of the bed will be hanging ones for easy retrieve. For the other portion of the wardrobe that's not infront of the bed, we'll design pigeon holes so that the bed will not be blocking access to stuffs placed at the bottommost pigeon hole.
  6. Also selected the floor tiles. The lighter shade one. We wanted the condo feel, and find this floor tiles quite appealing Right after selection of tiles we sat in the shop to discuss the laminate colours for all our carpentry. matching the common toilet wall tiles to the vanity surface top and cabinet laminate colours Also just completed the cement screeding yesterday. Slowly towards renovating my dream home!!
  7. haven update for a while. Finally settled on my ID. Some far find him easy to communicate and has good knowledge. Learnt quite a lot within this period. Right now we selected the floor tiles and toilet wall tiles (we r overlayin the walls as my fiancee don't like the HDB tiles) and also made prelim laminate selection for the generation of 3Ds. We selected a number of tiles and place it on the floor to see the color combination. Each toilet will have 3 different tiles The MBR toilet wall tiles. We'll be changing the black tile to another of the same color tone but of smooth surface. This tile will be laid in the shower area so that it's easy to clean and less dirt will stick on the surface Common toilet wall tiles. We deliberately choose a bright color scheme so as to create 2 different ambiance in the 2 toilets trying some tiles combination The selected wall tiles
  8. Hi guys, i'm looking for air con at the moment. Anybody know of good aircon contractor to recommend??
  9. call HDB clementi branch office and look for Mr Zahir.
  10. Ya agree. was recommended by some ID to get a bed frame w thin head boards. The room is slightly larger at 2900mm in length. If head board thickness is 100mm, then it'll be 2900-1900-600=400mm which is also very cramped. Therefore thinking of customising the portion of the wardrobe in front of the bed to be say 500mm, then i'll have 500mm walking space. but not sure if it'll work out. Some other advise to knock down the wall between MBR and bedroom 1 and build a cabinet in its place to act as the partition. But i have reservation against hacking walls Still figuring how else to fit a cabinet in. My fiancee hope the cabinet is in MBR and not in bedroom 1.
  11. Hi neighbour! I'm also shifting into ghim moh valley. Now cracking my head over ID selection. Possible to pm yr quotation as reference?
  12. Hi. I'm getting HDB to do the cement screed. Filled up the form already. Will be calling them up as i heard need to rush them a bit, else might need to wait for a month!! i think a typical wardrobe depth is 600mm so that clothes can be hung properly inside, so factoring a queen size bed in the room, there's not much walking space. That's why i tot of making the portion of the cabinet in front of the bed smaller in depth, but then prob only can put folded clothes. How are you gg to do your wardrobe in the MBR?
  13. Thanks sis! I had been following your thread. Really nice reno! Haha you mean hacking the wall b/w MBR and bedroom 1? We're actually intending to keep the rooms seperated in case anyone wants to stay over and for future kids. Actually I have headache planning the space for MBR. My fiancee needs a big wardrobe and after putting in the wardrobe, we'll have on around 40cm walking space between wardrobe and bed. haha. Really small. Now contemplating if i should customise the wardrobe as follows. (thingk standard depth is 600mm for wardrobe in order to hang clothes)
