  1. Callie jie, I started posting le. Thanks for your encouragement!! http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50727
  2. A short history of us.... We are Singapore PRs & have been renting a flat at Punggol for the last few years. With a 1 year old boy & another on the way, hubby & I decided to bite the bullet & buy our own place. Set our hearts on Bedok as it's near my brother's place & easy for us to meet up for our weekly family lunch. Saw numerous flats, all asking for sky high COV ($80-$100K) ridiculous! Then an agent brought us to see one on high floor at Bedok north, reasonable COV but dirty & smelly like anything...owned by a karang guni man staying alone. I really hated it when I went, so dark & dingy. Hubby said he could see the potential. I could not see anything vaguely potential about it, except how horrible it was. I couldn't even bring myself to touch the filthy walls. I wanted to run out immediately! Anyway, to cut a long story short, we bought the place & our search for a renovation contractor began. Here are some pics of the dirty house: So horrible, right? It just couldn't see it as a home. But got to respect the head of the house. Hubby said we needed to get a good contractor to overhaul the entire place within a reasonable budget. With my baby brains & low energy level, seemed like a super daunting task! But no choice. First house & zero renovation experience, I was really stressed out!
  3. Finally figure out how to upload photos here..kekeke... Ya, Ed did my reno. Actually, almost didn't get him cos at that time I already got proposals from 2 other contractors. But very confused with the quotations as some of the items listed in one contractor's proposal missing from the other contractor's proposal. And when I asked them about it, they said must additional charge, so the proposal not final. I was quite scared, first time doing reno, don't want to get ripped off. So decided to ask Ed to quote after seeing my friend's house which he did, the quality not bad. His proposal also the most complete compared to the others. My house super original condition, 35 years old, very dirty & run down. I hated it when hubby brought me to see, seriously wanted to throw up. Before the reno, this is the condition After looks like this It's a simple house, not like yours, so glam.
  4. Hi Calliecats, Have been following your blog & love your design...& I tink we got the same contractor!kekeke.. Wanted a classic baroque theme but have to settle for something simplier cos I got an active 1 year old & another one on the way. Thinking of doing a blog too but I've been so tired lately. Anyways, congratulations on your beautiful home & for being an inspiration. You have really good taste.
  5. Hi Your home looks interesting. Looks like one of those boutiques with all your wife's earrings displayed. Unfortunately, I have a 1 year old baby running around so have to go with an open concept & no bulky furniture. Is it hard to clean all the baroque style furniture?
