  1. Do log a police report immediately. Join our group for discussion if interested : http://www.facebook.com/groups/404209466306142/
  2. Lemon law is for when you get a lemon and wanted to exchange for a non-lemon. In this EHG case, no lemon was even delivered. This is fraud.
  3. The last I heard, IO said the case is now with AGC (Attorney General Chambers), they are deliberating on whether to prosecute them.
  4. Darren has left. Only Elson Seah is with Excellence now. The last story we got from Elson is that they are arranging a loan due to business problems.
  5. Currently, the police is investigation to see if this is a scam. If yes, the director will be responsible.
  6. The Sales staff are Elson Seah and Darren Koh. The director is Winston Lim Kwang Liang. It does not matter what their names are, just be a smart consumer, never pay more than 10-20% deposit, go for more reputable companies. Follow the CASE advise, have everything down in writing. So wherever the crooks go, they can't get your money. CASE web site has lots of tips. http://www.case.org.sg/general_advice.html
  7. For other companies related to Teo Chek Liang, one has to check ACRA for the info, there will be fees involved. As a consumer, just do what CASE has advised, do not pay more than 10-20% for the deposit. If the company ask more, go somewhere else. I bought a $1000+ refrigerator and from the neighbourhood store downstairs and he didn't even need a deposit! When I ask him how much deposit, he said, "Anything, $10 is also fine". For myself, I will not shop in those Expo exhibitions any more. The exhibitors there likely has no showroom and can just easily take your deposit and close down immediately after the show. Also, I will go for the bigger firms with a reputation, at least, if you file SCT against them, you might get something back. As always, buyer beware.

  9. Hi Cheated, I just sent you my email. Not sure why the PM is not working, is there any error, I just used the default profile settings, didn't change it. I have received PM from other users, no issues so far.
  10. Here is the Strait Times Article. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  11. I will suggest to file with SCT and then a police report. Next is to visit his office to demand refund of deposit and visit his director's house. Worst case is to get debt collector. Can you send me your email, name, mobile and amount of deposit paid, amount ordered. I will added you in a specail closed mailing list for all the victims.

  12. I have compiled a victim list, please PM me if you need more info.
  13. Btw, how much is our deposit with them. I am seriously thinking of going to the legal debt collector to get at least 65% of my money back before it is too late.

  14. How is the police investigation coming along ?

  15. Can those who has filed with SCT, share their Claim number here ? If we have a few, I believe we believe we have log a case with CAD (Police Commercial Affairs Department) to investigate for evidence of fraud, i.e. collecting deposit without delivering goods. We need to get the police to investigate, otherwise, they can keep delaying the deposit even if you have the SCT order.
  16. Hi, this is yuanjiun, may I know how are you able to get your deposit back without going to SCT ?

  17. Hi Cheryl78,

Would you be able to share your SCT Claim number ? I would like to refer to your claim when I am in SCT to have a stronger case.

  18. $3744. I will file SCT on Monday. My bed/sofa has been delayed the fourth time already, including the delivery tomorrow, which Elson SMS me, after chasing for a few days, is delayed to next week (surprise!). No phone calls are answered nowadays LOL.
  19. Have you considered enforcing the order ? http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/civil/page.aspx?pageid=10939#
  20. Sorry, another way to enforce the order is to get a writ of seizure, see below link. Need to pay some fees, and the Bailiff will go to their office to seize their furniture and auction it off to repay the debts/deposit. http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/civil/page.aspx?pageid=10939#
  21. Police will not arrest them since it is not criminal. Sad truth is many people out there still owe money ordered by the court but not paying up. You can only chase after them yourself and hire the legal debt collectors (high fees though).
  22. The police will not arrest them, this is not a criminal offence. Sad truth is that many people out there are ordered by the court to pay their creditors for maintenance fees, non-delivery of goods and services etc... however if they don't pay, nobody can make them, unless you hire debt collectors to go after them.
  23. Has anyone received any partial or full delivery from them at all from Excellence ?
  24. The excuses sound very familiar. Now I think the there is little hope to get our money back even if I file with SCT, I might just go with the debt collector. May I know how much did they owe you, $1k+ ?
  25. I heard they don't put up a booth at Expo anymore, their office is in a warehouse like place in Kallang Pudding, so making big hooha there doesn't really help.
