  2. Itarc, so sorry to hear that you do not like the wall... what is wrong with it besides the cracking? Truth be said, I think that there must be some allowance for hairline crack because that is a common scene although I have seen some cement screeding that is perfect and has been that way for years. If you want to see what you can do about it, you can go the the My Humble House (under the Tung Lok Group) at Esplanade. They have what you are trying to achieve I believe with an additional plus.. Look carefully on the wall and you can see inbuilt lights. I recommend that you take a look first, ask the restaurant who they got to do the wall and ask them for advice on how to do it properly should you want to do it again. If not, at least they might be able to rectify your faults. Cheers Gate
  3. If you don't remove the study, you can hack one door in the wall that separates the kitchen and the study and make the study room your dining room. Then you would have more space for your living room. An additional idea, if you have the money for it, is to hack away that wall to the study that you planned to as well and do up a tempered glass wall so that you have the illusion of space as well as a see-through dining room....
  4. chewapple, can you share pictures of how you did it? Or pictures of the end product? I am interested in doing my own feature walls as well. Thanks! Gate_warper
  5. Actually, what do you mean by solid ply and normal ply? Sounds like reno-speak to me... As far as I know... ply is simply solid(meaning cut directly from original wood) wood veneers stacked up and glued down together. Solid wood is simply pure wood shaped into the way you want it and not fabricated.
