    Hi all,

    I am currentlt doing reno for my new house. I have spoken to my ID that i would like incorporate my fridge into my kitchen cabinet. ( Some sort like a built-in fridge ) The main idea is to hide my fridge from view and also, when i open the cabinet door, the fridge has to open as well...but my ID says he cant do it.....

    Do you guys know where i can get help to do this? I saw this concept in alot of Condo showflats....

    to all bros & sis,

    for all those who had manage to engage their services regarrdless of ID, did they mention that it is it their 'company policy' to provide:

    1) Only lumpsum quotation. NO breakdown of each items costing.

    2) not possible to forward layout plan(after discussion with ID) to clients so that for easy reference with the quotation.

    the reason why i mention regardless of ID in the firm is because i got a reply from their ID that 'it is our company policy'.

    yes. the quotation is lumpsum, no breakdown. We met up with her to see everything after she's done with the quotation and design.

    Actually we had toyed with the idea of putting up notices in the lifts, but guess people would probably not be very happy about so many ads, not forgetting the notices would probably be lost amist all the other commercial ads and flyers.

    Can also start a website, call something like www.88tanglin.com or something, where it can become a portal for all residents to use, be it for products, services, merchants, activities like gatherings, BBQs, etc. Can also act as information counter regarding crime rates, wanted criminals, missing pets, etc.

    Further, our children/teenagers would be terrified if we can list their photos on the web for neighbours to recognise and keep a watchout on each others' kids who play truant or sit at long john silver too long. Elderly/Needy people can have their family contacts and medical conditions listed (locked up with passwords and accessible by certain people only), so we can help when there is an emergency. Blah blah...alot of usages!

    But I guess this will take time, like who to do it, getting sponsorships from the merchants, maintenance of the website, event organisers, etc.

    halo everyone, long time didnt post... busy with my work recently....

    Just want to ask you guy, your hse wall got any pop up issues or crack.. recently my wall had pop up and cracks.... problematics...

    Yaya sakae and khris and Jule are very nice neighbours that i had met up with... Cheer!8|

    You should report to HDB Building Service about the crack lines. I had some on my ceiling and I got them to patch.

    Anyway, seemed like all are spoiling for a gathering huh?? Well if want to do then let's do it big! Hmmz, the next big thing is Chinese New Year! I posted before liao, anyone still keen for Lou Hei?? We can do potluck, no need to pay money or whatever, just bring your own food! :)

    Think she super busy during this period... esp with ppl like me hounding her

    She supposed to handover to me yday but her workers did not clean up the place well... :notti:

    So she had to clean my house for me! :notti:

    She spent 3-4 hours at my place cleaning up and calling ppl up...

    At least at the end of the day... most of the work is done.

    Still have some touch up outstanding though... will be done these few days.

    Yup, think this few weeks very busy for her, usually will get a response from her pretty soon, but recent is longer. She will remember, no worries. Im the other one hounding her too. Also arranging some touchup after handover..

    I somehow realise the trend that Intradesign likes to suggest hacking away walls to accomodate a larger waberobe.

    Mine doesnt have any hacking at all. The layout and design proposed by ID didnt have any hacking also.

    I think it might also depend on layout.

    Guess you shouldn't drill so late at night. What if your neighbour's job is shift base and much attention is needed at work so a good sleep is important.

    Guess living in HDB requires lots of consideration as there are sooo many of us sharing the single plot of land. So there's a lot of give and take. I too have to tolerate Indian incense smell in the evening and i read up b4 that incense has cancer causing agents and i'm very sensitive to bad smell. So just close my windows whenever i detect the smell lor.. Cos she has the right to practice her religious practices at home too.

    after i receive the quote, i immediately sms my ID saying "wah! so expensive! can cheaper or not"

    I think it all depends on you if you are happy with the quote and want to meet up with them to discuss more on how to cut down costs etc... they cant force you or make you meet up with them right? if they do that to everyone who ask for quote to meet up. I think they wont have time for customers who have signed up with them liao...

    If you want to dicuss further then you should let them know of ur interest.

    I just sms my ID to customize a coffee table for me..., ID say can but have to wait till after CNY...

    that's how busy they are... !!

    for me, if i have not read the comments from this forum, i would have dropped them immediately after seeing the quote... !!

    Well, sometimes its not about how people should handle themselves when they are angry, but how YOU should handle such angry people. You cannot control them, but you can control yourself, esp when faced with your loved ones becoming angry with you.

    Hope my post is not too harsh, but we do not live on an island alone; 80% Singaporeans stay in hi-rise HDB. Even if stay in landed, there is still people like the Everitt Rd case.

    I bet all of us, at one time or another, have met unreasonable people; but why only some of us (eg Everitt Rd case) get into so much trouble?? So is it the problem of other people, of is it your problem? Live and let live lor - again its not about the environment compromising to suit you, but how you can compromise to suit the environment.

    Erm I am not a saint ah, everyday I also have to remind myself of this. Hope this chicken soup for the soul helps... :yamseng:

    I was fortunate to have understanding neighbours as my renovation was ongoing after they moved in. The debris was laying in the corridor for days and it got into their way of walking as my unit was between them and the lift. I am glad for their tolerance and understanding during the reno period.

    At times, we still have to think of what might have cause the unhappinesses. Most people would not have want to go for a confrontation unless there were extreme unhappinesses caused to them. Have we thought about if there was really anything that has caused such strong reaction from them ?

    I heard of a case whereby a nearby friend can hear his neighbour couple quarrelling and 'shouting' at each other early in the morning, then sometimes also can hear quarrelling during the day. I think my friend has yet to "feedback" to that couple, hoping the couple would self-reflect and stop these "unhappinesses".

    I hope our neighbourhood will all live in harmony

    Ok, Hxxx Txx qote me ~$3800 incl installation. Config 3 x 9k + 1x > 12k (cant rem).

    Need to confirm the config again.

    include GST ? check whether that one using old gas or not. What BTU u want for ur living room will depend on your area.

    mine is 3 X 9k / 1 x 21k (just checked)

    PM you the details & comments. They definitely not the cheapest in town but if you are looking for top selection materials, workmanship & service/advice we highly recommended. They invested & used automated computerised machine stitching for a nice & perfect results...

    U mean they quoted the specs on invoice n yet they gave lower specs instead? The 1st hse my parents had uses a daikin n nw the current hse is fitting with hitachi (comes with the hse), my inlaws had sanyo for their old hse n current hse uses samsung. So far daikin is the only one that is best so far. No problems at all, the others that we used n am using has lots of problem......tink gotta do with the installation as well.

    anyway my dad's fren is in aircon servicing line, he dun sell aircon thus we gotta buy elsewhere, can clarify with him b4 the installation wat to look out for.

    I have a fren's fren who got from Best tech, end up she gave up the deposit cos they kept making her get another make instead when they claim there is no stock for that aircon they ordered.

    It was cheaper at the fair abt 2 mths ago, the price went up ald. We still dunno when we are getting our keys then, thus din dare to commit. We have to get a aircon anyway, so after comparing All Best nt cheapest la, best tech cheapest but we dun dare try getting from them.

    Like the plasma we eyeing on was so much cheaper during sitex in terms of promo with vouchers but now those promo at all the stores cant beat the price at sitex. As usual since we dunno when we get keys we din buy anything at sitex which we deeply regret.

    The price doesnt really matter nw ald, jus worried abt the leakage or if the trunking will be ugly or nt. The $ damage involved with the leaks n ugly trunking is much more, Keeping fingers crossed!

    Both our parents used Daikin for years and it's working great. I also feel it's the installation that matters. Thus decide to pay a bit more for a recommended installer.

    Ahem, we are looking for people who will volunteer their flat for gathering and watching fireworks together one leh.

    Yesterday saw one unit very nice, MBR can see fireworks clearly. Some of us volunteer to carry out the furniture on that day, then set up tables and chairs with drinks and food in the MBR for fireworks-watching.

    But till now she never respond leh... :seeya:

    BTW anyone will be at Tanglin Halt on 1st Jan'08?? Maybe can meet up for breakfast/lunch or something...?
