  1. The story of us - Looks a lot like a tragedy. We have engaged the Story of us as well. I agree with the user eitherway above in his review. We engage this ID before we got the keys to our EC because we are impressed by design work from them. Hubby and I respect designers and decide we will pay a higher price which is around 30% more than other ID. The TOP date came, and we get our keys, our ID is helpful and help us check for defects, etc. Their electrician came, the quote is 40% higher. ID told us shifting an aircon cost $500 (normal price is $280 to $300), and they happily start saying move this, change that, as if it don't need money. I feel taken for a ride. Decided I will find an electrician on my own. Maybe our ID resented us for not using her electrician. Everything went downhill from here. As with many design concept, the design has to change when you get to the actual site. Some plans don't work and need to be modified or cost additional money to fix. To keep within our 50k budget, we made comprised as the ID charge us for every single work. 1) We cannot build a bed frame and two side table for our master bedroom. 2) We cannot move one wall to enlarge the living room. My gut tells me that money is more important to the ID than anything. They do not care about the clients. Prove me right when there is an aircon alignment which affects the look of the study room. Two aircon to sit side by side with one sitting on protruded 30cm box up. When I ask why this wasn't flagged up, ID got the cheek to tell me she didn't propose to fix that because we are on a BUDGET. I inform the ID I am unhappy with this. No calls, no apologies. Just a cold: I will quote you the price to box it up. To our ID, you are sorely missing the point. We hired you for your design, but you do not respect your design work. Taking the stress aside, we have decided to delay the move-in date and get another person to quote us the exact work needed. Story of us :$45k New quote: $26k ( Still choosing who to work with at this point, once bitten, twice shy) With the new quote to give me an indicative price, I will opt to forgo the 9k deposit with Story of Us Interior Concept, so my story will not turn into a real tragedy.
  2. BTW Oliver, on the goose feather smell, you are right in this case. I used to have another goose feather sofa from LUSH LUSH, cost me 3k and the feather did smell after 1.5 to 2 years time. Before buying from MM, the sales rep told me theirs are grade A feather and would not have this issue. So maybe I can write a review after 1.5 years to 2 years time? (LOL) I did spend some money to do a biz search on them and if I am not wrong, their paid-up capital is around $500 m( I remember it is less than my deposit). The invoice did mention Silver River Furniture, a company I know has been around for a long time. So, I took a leap of faith to go with them. Ultimately, the company delivered what was promised. So, I am happy with the outcome.
  3. Hi Oliver, I got the delivery of my sofa today. I'm not around to receive the delivery, but my hubby says everything is good. I got what I ordered after all. The delivery is prompt. I called the office to arrange for a date; admin informed me the driver would call me one day before to arrange the time. For my case, I call them on Monday to arrange for delivery on Wednesday; they called me on Tuesday at around 7 pm to inform me 12-3 pm. The arrangement is a bit last min, but at least they are not late. Cheers! Mag
  4. Hi Oliver, Sorry, i hope this response came in time. I have arranged the delivery of the sofa for this coming Wednesday. I will get back if everything is good. Can't post my house now as it is not done up yet. ( Got screwed by ID )

  6. Some updates. Went to Expo today and they are still around. (Phew!) They now charge GST, so I guess they must be doing pretty well? Told my rep Leslie that I tried calling him on six different numbers, and he apologised profusely for it. He told me their new address is on ACRA, but I said communications could be better. I joke with him that if I start to check ACRA, it means I am ready to make a police report. I am glad they remain helpful and pleasant to deal with after all these scares. I walk away satisfied with their service. Now waiting for the sofa delivery in Nov before the next update. Cheers and have a nice weekend to everyone. Mag
  7. So sorry to hear your experience. Sadly, we have signed a reno package with them and from Expo as well. =( We have yet to start our renovation but i am hoping everything will turn out well. Can i know what is the name of your ID?
  8. Hi All, I manage to get hold of their office after all the redirects. Manage to get hold of someone who confirmed my sales order is a valid number. ( Phew) Will be going down to Expo this sat to firm up the sofa delivery date with them. Will post more information after my visit. Cheers!
  9. I placed and order with Mix and Match with a 50% deposit. Now, I am ready to take the delivery for my sofa and I find them extremely dodgy and hard to get hold of. Firstly, the phone number i called on their invoice is no longer their number, i was given a handphone number to call Derick and can never get a dial tone. Then i called Loftez and they say they are just a partner and not Mix and Match. Loftez then gave another number which is Silver River's phone number and it is no longer Silver River. I hope i have luck in finding them and get my sofa in the end. I will keep you guys updated if i got scammed in the end.
