Hi guys, Seeking a second opinion about doing up a feature wall for my place. Our first option was to do a 8 ft full height feature wall. I was determined to have it full height because I think that really makes the place looks bigger (same reason why we do built in wardrobes) Then the second suggestion came, which is to do a full length and full height feature instead, which extends all the way to my dining. That would probably cost be 2.5 times the cost. The last idea is to do a full length one, but suspended and also a little shorter at the top, and then cove lights on top and bottom. This is half the cost of the second option. All 3 has their pros and cons. Just wanted to hear some opinion especially from those who already did theirs and have any regrets. Thanks again guys!

Hi guys, My fiancé and I just got keys to our apartment last month. We got an interior design to plan out the renovation works and got the finalized quote. Our ID is young, but have been very patient with us, and we think that he has good eyes for what looks good. Having said that, the quote that came back is spirally out of the initial budget we set aside for. Hoping to seek some of your opinion about balancing our needs and to whether the costs are justified. Be great to hear from you guys asap since we are suppose to pay upfront 60% deposit before starting work. (We've negotiated to pay just 30% upfront and another 30% after ceiling works) Thanks for all the help in advance!

Been trying to revamp my bedroom and I just laminated my floor recently. I'm really happy with the results and the pricing as well. Got the flooring done for about $550 (shifted furniture myself. Now I'm trying to do some downlights for my ceiling! It's a common bedroom in an old HDB flat. I've been reading around and decided to go for a uniform false ceiling instead of an L Box which would either go out of fashion or just look odd if it isn't set right. Here's where you could help me with! How much is it! I've called up PinPin (http://www.pinpin.com.sg/contactus.html) who quoted me more than 1k for 1) Wiring 2) Installation of 4 downlights 3) Painting Another contractor I called gave me a quote for $550 off hand without telling me much. It's quite a big difference! What's a reasonable price to get a uniform false ceiling down for a single common bedroom with everything included? Thanks people!
