  1. There are so many pretenders in market with tis box , that box , 2 core, 4 core , 10 core , xxx core etc . As such new users were taken in by the impressive specs only to be disappointed when the visuals come out. That actually set them up to look for another box only to be disappointed again and in the process waste $.

The key is to select a box that has the variety and selection of programs you like. As such, we find maige TV has the best selection.

It's not just sports but holistic family entertainment and video on demand. Maige TV is operationally into its 4th year so it is stable and the risk of termination is very much reduced for users.

It is an international product used by expats all over the world to watch their fav home channels in china, hk, taiwan, malaysia, japan, korea and usa

The engineering development is also important as you will want a box that is constantly being improved and developed. Maige TV provides constant auto firmware update to make channel switching faster and upgrade their program selection. VODs are constantly added too.

We have spend effort into market research to pick this winner from so many other pretenders and the good review is a testimony of our genuine effort.

many buyers bought a 2nd set for their ah gong and ah ma to watch as well.

Buy from Zoeblogshop or Zoeblogshop qoo10 or contact 94894410 at $415 for online purchase pay by ibanking/atm. Note cash, carry is $435.

I have recently bought this Maige TV from Zoeblogshop. 1stly, I would say that this product is worth every penny that you are paying for. All the channel are working and clear. TV series and Movie are all updated and new. But for anyone that want to buy this product, please look for Zoeblogshop. ....

The service that Zoeblogshop provides is really top notched. Message are replied promptly. And they make sure everything is working for you. Kudos to staff from Zoeblogshop!

For anyone that is still on the fence, please dun wait and come to Zoeblogshop!!!

    -Read Jason's review here

Bought the Maige HD2 from Zoeblogshop Dec 2013. And for the past one month, have very good experience with this IPTV box and I mainly use it to watch live TVB channels as the local cable and IPTV providers do not provide live TVB channels. The channels are clear and smooth (am on fiber connection) unlike those other Android based IPTV where they claim image quality is “clear and smooth” but suffer from buffering and some channels are pixellated.Another good thing is that with an annual renewal fee, there’s no need to choose packages as there is a lot of channels accessible through Maige HD2.On a final note, get the Maige HD2 from Zoeblogshop as I have friends and colleagues who ordered from online store, but waited for almost a month the box still have not arrived. And the guys at Zoeblogshop are friendly to answer all my questions regarding the Maige HD2 via whatsapp promptly

Got this Maige from a contact last week, really better than any other streaming products. Really worth the $450. My colleague come over to my home to demo it just now and he is poisoned liao -HWZ forummer's review on Maige TV , read here

Once you switch to this Maige TV, you will never look back, ultimate solution for all your tv need, be it china, tw, hk, jap, kr or football , total estimate 200 channel above -HWZ forummer's review on MaigeTV, read here ( 200 channels by this review is incorrect, there are 356 channels on MaigeTV)

The Maige TV box is amazing! Enjoying the football so far clear.png Thks for the recommendation. is there any discount if I were to get a second set for my parents? No obligations although must say the price is actually already good for this product - Samuel who did get a second set for his family

OMG! It's so clear and smooth without buffering, just like watching from miotv. My Hong Kong relatives are over at my place to watch documentary of Shaw Run Run on TVB. They are impress with the clarity and no buffering. -William who bought the Maige TV ( actually to correct William, there is buffering but it is done so fast user do not realise it)

  2. Please check out reno t-blog, people are willing to share which estate they live in and the layout and their reno pictures and all details happily, its a celebration.

That's why i say there is something missing in your posting. Most home owners share their reno openly becuase they are proud and happy about it. But you instead trumpet about your ID and would only shre you reno in PM. You are obviously an ID in disguise!!!

Guys, please take note of the ID she/he give, the thread starter is likely the ID himself.

Well I did offer to share my details with anyone who's keen in trying that ID out and PM me for it... if you are keen, do PM me too..

Who would share their personal address here in public? come on dude.. just PM me if you want it alright?

I have nothing to be afraid of, so if u insist on not wanting to PM me like other ppl did, then don't blame me...

  3. Many IDs have come here and post as if they are the home owners. This is old trick. IF you do not want to provide the details i will report you to moderator that you are actually an ID that does dishonest marketing

    Hi!

If you need any proof or my quote, do PM me for it and i will share it with you.. Of cos i have been very enthu with the renovation, it is completed and therefore i'm sharing it with the people here now who needs help. is that wrong?

    =)

  4. i ask for advice, you take this an income opportunity? i will report you to moderator

    Hi Relacker,

    Congratulations on your new home.

IMO, you can engage a Representative to act on your behalf for your new renovation. It should cost about 5% plus minus of your renovation cost.

    Advantage of engaging a Rep:-

    1. Articulating your space requirements (studying of your family space behavior and design)

    2. Procuring renovation firms for you, (saving much time)

    3. Construction management (ensuring you are able to move in on time with good quality finishes)

    4. Post-renovation services (checking for defects, handing over and ensure all is in order)

This service is a "No-noise" approach but you, as the client, still need to approve final designs and drawings.

You can email me at peterluen@gmail.com if you need more information.

  5. Hi Candy,

please show us your reno and the story of your renovation, quote the address and the layout. Its extremely suspicious that you only got 2 post , and its all about your ID and recommending him. most people will be more enthusiatic about their renovation than the ID.

you even PM to recommend your ID.

Please clarify or I will report you to moderator.

If you do not clarify, then i will post the contact number of this ID you gave me and let everybody know he is engaged in dishonest marketing.

    Peace out!

  6. it will be our second home and we are seriously busy with our work and first child's needs.

So what will be the best advice for us who want hands off approach?

we do not mind factoring another 10-15% higher cost compared to other owners who want more hands on approach. We are tired and not able to spare much energy and time.

We are looking at scandinavia style, simple and clean and if possible woody style but not too much.

    Appreciate all advice and pointers.

  9. no choice once u sign up on them , your fate is intertwined with theirs

Yes!!! Ikr!!! I am not pissed at my contractor but kind of disgusted at the electrician's quote for per light point and installation point and whatnot. No doubt his workmanship is not bad and he's really quick but paying almost double of market rate is unfair. We have discussed with him to negotiate for a better overall quote, thanks for all your advice I really appreciate it!

How did your negotiation went in the end with your parents' place?

  10. u really buei kia si..there are many dc motor fans here u know...especially those haiku, elmark ones.....jus kiddin.

i was looking thru haiku fans ..nice is nice but pricey.

i am looking at this tabao fan that seem to elmark:

    NSFh7M.jpg

Yesterday was a busy day for us. We started our day at noon by going Absolute Outdoors as we heard from our neighbours that they were doing a bulk purchase. The place was well decorated with different colours of carpet. We went to the backyard and there were several layers of grass. Pretty cool but I still haven't figured out how to load my images to show. We were recommended by a nice salesgirl who told us that their best seller was the absolute grass. Our 1st option was the turf grass which we both felt it was neater but the carpet turn out to be pretty hard. The absolute grass definitely felt very soft but the quote given to us was $570 which was on the expensive side. We decide to keep in view.

After that we headed to Elmark to look at Aeraton fans after seeing good reviews about it. The guy in charge Peter told us a different story on how wooden blades are definitely the best for fans. He told us that he has 35 years of experience and told us that anione one was free to challenge this fact, lol. However nothing caught our eyes and we headed down to Amasco. It was pretty crowded with only the lady boss serving 4 families. Still thumbs up for her service as she has pretty patient. She told us that Aeraton fan which we like may come in a 46 size which might be a better fit for our bedroom. In conclusion we felt that we were going to get a AC ceiling fan. Dc motor fans might be the in thing now but after testing in so many shops at max power, both of us feel that the fans provided more then just a slight breeze. Initial ideas about the wooden blades to suit our muji theme might have to be scrap as well for apparently they are much heavier and because they are form blade by blade there is the constant buzzing sound. There goes my Haiku fan as well. So far the Crestar rainlite suits us the best, Franco fans have the weird looking shape and KDK... lols like what people say abit like classroom fans.

Last stop was XQZT where we saw a dining table we like. Friends were telling how their stuffs from there lasted about 10 years. But 1k is twice the price of the dining tables we saw at Starliving and Comfort Chairs. And although it was extendedable, AL didn't like the line in between.

Finally we head back to our home to meet up with Renzz Marcus to sign the contract as well as finalize what we wanted. Marcus definitely has a way to make us feel comfortable with him, and the fact that he was pretty open to all ideas made it better. Personally I also like that he was willing to explore all options despite some of my ideas being ridiculous, laminated wall ceiling... :P But the best part is that if he wasn't sure of anything or not confident of pulling anything off he is always humble enough to tell me and find out to see if it can be done. Questions thrown to him never take more than a day to reply which was really assuring. Hopefully this pleasant start will carry throughout the whole reno process! We are expecting the designs to come a week later. Looing forward to it!

  11. Do note that for fabrif if you buy from Taobao , make sure you wash all covers . The dust , bacteria accumulated from warehouse or forwarder warehouse will cause skin to itch. Do consider a high end vacuum cleaner too like Delfin or rainbow, you will be surprise how much dirt and bugs, germs it can suck up from a seemingly clean sofa or bed.

Renotalk. After this, I no talk

I now have a real home to clean, and a baby to wean. So I'm going to have to make this quick, and use this post to discuss four things:

    1. Reveal our final renovation budget, and some tips

    2. Talk about our movers - they are a team of ex-drug addicts and/or ex-convicts who have turned over a new leaf.

    3. Tips for moving house

    4. That Taobao Sofa

    1. Our final renovation budget

The final cost of renovations came to an auspicious $28,888.

Our initial budget was $25k, and we could have stayed on budget had we:

    a. NOT installed the glass door for the kitchen (about $800-900)

    b. NOT installed the folding table for our MBR (about $500)

    c. NOT built the full height cabinets in baby's room (about $1.5k)

Most of the above was added as an afterthought.

We compared about 7 quotations from different companies, and I remember contractor JE's prices - for some items, they are actually mid range (means, not cheap), but they seem to be quite cheap for carpentry.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BARGAIN! Our final renovation costs was $31++k, but we bargained this down to $28,888. Even our initial quotation from JE was about $27k, but we bargained that down to $24,888. Throughout the WHOLE negotiation, we were very clear that our budget was $25k. You need to let them know.

PLEASE BUDGET FOR APPLIANCES. Our household appliances, air con, TVs, Eubiq system and random crap (like cleaning towels, mops, decor items, storage boxes etc) easily cost us $15k in total!

    2. Our Movers (really moved us!)

They're called the Gethsemane Ministry. You can read more about them here.

    EB%20iphone%20caa%201Feb15%20011.jpg

There is a similar moving team called the Helping Hand, you can read about them here.

Both are Christian/Church affiliated organizations, and although we are both NOT Christian, we feel that they are worthwhile causes. The moving fee also seems reasonable. Gethsemane Ministry charges $300 per 15 foot truck, and Helping Hands charges $400 per 15 foot truck.

    Service: Gethsemane Movers

Gethsemane Ministry is wonderful to work with!

They are so polite its almost funny!

All these big burly men with ang kong (dialect: tattoos), then speak like elves and tiptoe gently in your house dancing like pixies...

Two to three weeks before moving, we called them to make a "survey/appointment". They will come to your EXISTING place, to see how much furniture and/or stuff you have to move. Based on what we showed them, the estimated one 15 foot truck would be enough. We were given an afternoon slot, 2pm.

They provide exactly 30 boxes, and additional boxes (if required) may be purchased at $2 each. The boxes are of a good size, but a little on the short side. Some of our taller items had to be packed in our own boxes (we have alot of boxes from our Taobao adventures).

The only minus point of the whole experience was that they were held up by their morning appointment. Apparently the morning home owner had a couple of furniture to dismantle and reassemble, which held them up. :dunno: Bo pian. Wait lor. They arrived close to 4.30pm.

The team was 8 men strong, or 8 strong men, both sentence structures work :sport-smiley-003: . Armed with their trolleys, they shrink wrapped our bed and everything was moved from our existing flat (parent's place lah) to our new BTO in about an hour. Much WOW! They were also very careful with our fragile boxes - something I liked. They made sure the fragile boxes were the last to be loaded, and also the last to be unloaded. Not that there's any advantage to being last - but at least they were aware which were fragile!

The final cost was indeed $300, no hidden charges. As a token of goodwill, we gave each of the movers a nice red packet... drink. HAHA. Kidding. Got both packet drink and red packet lar.

    3. Tips for Moving House

We thought we would also share some simple tips when moving house. Not saying that we are very smart, we just happened to read them!

    1. Newspapers. Few months before moving, you can start to store newspapers. Yes. No more selling to the karang guni for twenty cents. In fact, if he comes to your house, you ask him to sell you big stack for twenty cents. See he happy or not LOL. Newspapers are a very cheap way to stuff boxes so the contents won't shake around, and for regular items, can absorb some shock. (Bubble wrap is still MUCH better for very fragile items - I won't recommend newspapers for fragile things.)

    2. Label. Every box you pack should be labelled with its contents - so you know which to unpack first. For example, on moving day, you dua lau sai (hokkien: big diarrhea), you better know quickly which box contains your toilet paper. You should also label the ROOM it goes to. That way, you can get the movers to put the boxes in the correct rooms for you, rather than everything dump into the living room and "later then sort".

    3. Red color paper or tape. Use red papers or tape to tape up the boxes with fragile items so that the movers know at one glance which to be more careful with. It also helps YOU to watch what they are doing with those boxes, and quickly "oei" them, if they are too rough with those.

    4. Penknife! You will definitely have a hand carry bag - I mean, some super valuable things like gold bars, or ultra sensitive company or state secrets in your laptops. Bring a penknife or scissors ALONG in that HAND CARRY bag. You don't want to pack all your penknives and scissors away nicely, then move liao... how to open the boxes? -cricket chirps-

    4. That Taobao Sofa

Here are photos of that Taobao Sofa. For $300 including shipping, its reasonable.

We got fabric, which has washable covers, and the sofa came assembled. You just have to "click" things together. You can see the hook for yourself, later.

The material is sufficiently comfortable. Feels like fabric, loh.

    EB%20iPhone%20caa%205Feb152%20001.jpg

It's quite a good size, and comes with a pull down cup holder. We were a little disappointed that the holder didn't come with circular rings, for cups - but then we realized this way it can hold BOWLS lol. Maggi and TV. My favourite.

    EB%20iPhone%20caa%205Feb152%20003.jpg

This photo is taken from the top view, the brass/metal thing is what the sofa parts/modules go into.

    EB%20iPhone%20caa%205Feb152%20004.jpg

That's all from us, I had alot of fun doing this! Reminds me of the days back in school, when blogging was popular haha. Ok! Good luck with your own homes :)

  12. Remind me of my first home where I use Google sketchup to draw for my carpenter

After complaining how hard it is to visualize my living room with the furniture..my Hub went to do up this 3D pic..haha now its much much better..although not the atas 3D by the ID but at least its better then having no reference haha..

This is the top view of the living room..roughly looks like this...

    gallery_63855_546_18922.jpg

This is the view from the sofa facing our pretty brick wall..hopefully its gonna be pretty as it cost so much...

    gallery_63855_546_162528.jpg

Probably going shopping for furniture this weekend!!!
