  1. Have finally moved into my new house on 21 May... it was one hectic week of packing, moving, cleaning, more cleaning, touch-up, cleaning again... a non-stop cycle that keeps repeating itself...very siong... still outstanding are some minor rectrfication to be done, my TV feature wall to "unwrapped", a last minute decision to change the Main Gate, Install Blum Fitting for Kitchen and Plummet for Toilet light and the final washinh for the Kitchen/Showe/Toiley... till now, we have not fully unpack and the place is still in a mess.. hopefully can get things in order soon and will post some photo to share.. so more update to come...

  2. Are you refering to the white tubes? The white tubes are vents for carrying out the kitchen fumes. Not applicable to hdb flats. We can only use the recycling function not the ventilation function, so the contractor kept these aside for me. But, I don't remember my tubes being filled with charcoal or like material. They were empty. Usually the hood contains charcoal filter to absorb odours. Shouldn't the charcoal like material be inside the hood? :dunno:

Thanks Homeowner.. Found out those are the Charcoal Filter and managed to installed it...

  3. I had also talked to Kelvin from Gplan and he was aLso very sincere n helpful I would say but maybe I just did not have the affinity to meet him (hehe .. he got into a accident during the evening he supposed to meet me) ...

Hi Enci.. sorry u did not get to meet up with kelvin..He got involved in an accident while rushing to pick up some urgent accessories for me from PJ..really paisai but lucky only damage to his car.. have fun with your reno... :dunno:

  4. Finally decided on the Home Theatre System.. After much consideration, decided to go for a simple system. The main consideration is small speakers and the woofer must be able to fit under my TV console.. My final choice is the JAMO DMR60 and A102 Speakers..

Decent playback and effects for movies but the sound reproduction is excellent for listening to music.. The speaker is in Black Polish Piano finish and will complement the white glossy laminate of my TV console.. especially like the curve design for the speaker..

How wish I have such nice cabinate. heh~

xinyi... Thanks.. This is not the original position but shifted it here so the front door can open fully.. I also like it very much..

Hihi. I got the same Rinnai hood as you...while the ID is still there, get him to get the workers to remove the white sticker on the hood. The sticker is meant to be peeled off.

Homeowner..Tks for the tip..will check it out.. Need your advise.. I found two containers with grill like opening (i think filled with Charcoal or like material).. Is it for the Hood? If so, where to install? The guys left it in my sink and I blur.. Tks.

  10. More update today.. look like carpentry will only be complete by wed... hopefully all run on schedule as FSM already selected date on 21 may..next available date is mid Jun.. :furious:

Made a major decision today... will have to make some changes to the ceiling and cove light design for my dining area.. After the storage/display cabinet is in, realised that there will not have enought space for those seated between it and the dining table to move.. a tough decision as I really like the current design but for practical reason.. will have to do it.. luckily ID and his contractor will get it done by this week.. new design, U Shape Cove Light.

  11. wah.. your timeline quite similar to mine as well!!

but my carpentery not started yet.. so sad.. the workers din do anything for 2 weeks till today..

we aiming to shift in by end may!! yep~

hope your process of shifting in will b smooth sailing...

I think should be on time for you..carpentry will take 3 to 4 days to complete..mine will be done by tuesday.. just saw your blog.. we also on leave for the same period..haha

  12. wah..our schedule not only almost the same... we are also on leave for the same period..21 to 25 May.. !! me will be unpacking during this period as moving all my stuff on 20th and official move in on 21st...

  13. Decided on Rinnai. Bought from PJ at about $1600+

Hob - Rinnal Two Inner Burner Built-in Hob with Ceran Glass (Black) Top Plate.. Like the design.. Cook 50% faster and save gas (as claim in advert) due to the design of the inner burner. More effective use of gas and heat transfer..
