  1. Jiyz..Congrats..Reno finally complete and must say very well done..Really like the whole look and cosy feel for the place..I sure both of u will be very happy here ..congrats again.. Now can relex abit and enjoy the house.. :bangwall:

  2. Apple..congrats..Patrick well recommended here and should not be a problem.. Is he doing all the work.?. I find the quotes you posted earlier on the high side and not reliable i.e have to pay to apply for permit..This should be free..

  3. Wah really like ur doors man. But since ur doors gonna be in white, dat means the frosted glass gonna change to other colours liao. If not there wun be any contrast.

FSP.. ID actually proposed for light blue tint but wife is against it.. so will maintain the natural colour and will mtach with the white power coated bi-ford toilet and shower door which will also have the same colour acrylic.. my preference is to go for the blue tint but sometime must give way as she agreeded to getting this door instead of the classic door..

  4. Some update on the reno...

Wet work all done but found some mistake..The guy got the measurement wrong for the washing machine and fridge base and will be redoing it..

Washing Machine Base.. Dryer will be stack on top.

    13-04-07_1607.jpg

Fridge Base.. The gap between the base and the wall is for the kitchen sliding door..

    13-04-07_1610.jpg

Rubbish Bin installed..will be covered up by carpentry..

    13-04-07_1609.jpg

Plastering for whole unit completed and now, all the walls are nice and smooth..

    15-04-07_1130.jpg

    Aircon trunking also completed..

    15-04-07_1125.jpg

Electrical work should be done by today..no time to check..

    15-04-07_1127.jpg

Tomorrow - False ceiling, light box, follow by painting...

  5. Have finally selected the colours for the painting work starting this week.. will be using ICI Dulex

Living Room - Silvermink + SailWhite

    Dining Room - Sail White

MBR - Mocha Delight + Monsoon River (Earth tone colour)

Girl1 Bedroom - Pecan Brone + SailWhite (Earth tone)

Girl2 Bedroom - Pastol Pistachio + Sailwhite (Green tone)

No more pink tone for the girls rooms as will follow FSM advise..Will replace with pink accessories etc.

Also confirmed that all my carpentry will be using glossy white liminate i.e, wardrobe in all the bedrooms, study table in the girl rooms, Display and storage cabinet in dining room, TV console, Shoe cabinet and kitchen cabinets.

As the kitchen floor tile is black and wall tile is grey, wife felt that the tone is too dark and as such, decided to change the colour for the kitchen cabinet glass back splash from Black to Persimmon Berry (Orange).. I think this colour will contrast very nicely with the white cabinet and add a dash of colour to the kitchen.. Hope I'm right..

Also selected the 3 x bedroom doors.. damage - another $1k+

Will be in white with double frosted tempered glass

    DOOR.jpg

Really like this door as compared to the normal classic door although it will be cheaper...

  6. Went light hunting over the weekend by myself as wife not free and got 8|8|8|8| ... :(:( . Lesson learnt - don't go shopping without wife... However, not a big problem as ID Kelvin to the rescue... managed to resolved and cancelled the order for 3 x bedrooms, 2 x kitchens and 1 x crystal dining light.. Thanks to Shawn from Litevault who is both helpful and accomdating...

Only managed to confirm the following:

PLC for living room, foyer to bedrooms and kitchen

    13-04-07_1427.jpg

Halogen for the display cabinet, feature wall and bedrooms

    13-04-07_1428.jpg

Milo Tin light for Toilet (small one on the left) and Shower (big one on the right)..Both will be in white

    13-04-07_1434.jpg

Total damage - about $1k... now to search for the bedroom, dining and kitchen lights..

  8. Hi.. not recommended unless u have lots of time and can control the workers..i.e. willing to be bad guy, shout a bit and sayang them at other time.. u may want to chase some of those contractor or id to revert..I did it beforre for me previous place and a real headache coordinating the work and timing for the different parties.. all the best...

  9. Check thru most before i purchase..down to Rinnai or Cuizano..ended with Rinnai as the hob use inner flame and more efficient use of gas and heat tansfer = saving and faster cooking time.. This is the model that i bought. Cheapest in Poh Joo..

RB2CG - Ceran Glass - Make in Japan

    24-03-07_RB2CG.jpg

    RH90CD - High Suction at 925+/hr

    24-03-07_RH90CD.jpg

    but more ex than cuizano..

  10. Ben trust me, when u go to those lighting shops ur eyes like kana block by hantu. Every light oso nice, every light oso wanna buy :good: but then again, lighting is one of the most important item in the house. Nice lighting will really bring out the beauty of ur house. Feature wall will have a total different look with nice lightings :dancingqueen: Having said dat, some things cannot save 1 :D Can't wait to see wat lights u'll be getting for ur already stunning looking house :bangwall:

FSP..will wear sunglass..hopefully will help..hahah...what u say very true..first thing u see is the light..already spend on the electrical and will be a real let down if the lights not right.. but then $$$$ must go out..so no expensive lighting..I think must search hard for suitable one at the right price.. also easier said that done..as u said, will be very tempted once you see so...let's hope for the best... will update again..

MaCe...where to buy cheap and nice?

  11. Thank you! Wow that price is very good.

Sigh, in the end didn't get to meet the spray paint man cos we were late for the appointment. We got lost on the way to our flat!

Jia lat, not familiar with the small roads in JW la.

By the way, has anyone heard of cement screeding or plastering over the tiles in the toilet for an industrial look? We were thinking maybe can paint it after that as well... Instead of overlaying, hacking or painting?

Hey Ken, if u r thinking of screeding over tile for the toilet, no need to paint as the contactor can mix in the colour before sceeding.. For spray paint over tiles, not recommended for floor tile and toilet bowls/basin..

  12. Ben...

WAH!!!! Ur one is definitely more than mine.. Lighting will cost abit.. depends on the design u are going for.. dining light will be ex.. of the ambience... :bangwall:

    Ben...

WAH!:furious: Urs is definitely more than mine.. 50 lighting points man!:dribble::bangwall:

Lighting will cost a bomb.. but it all depends on what kind of model of light u are going to buy.. dining light also ex... that's why i forgo it..

as i very lazy one... so keep all to PLC lights.. :bangwall:
