  1. To everyone who is interested, Vincent's contact is 9-3-8-4-9-2-2-8, please omit the dashes. He provides good service and site measurement/showing of samples. I contacted him shortly after I got my keys because I know a lot of people queuing to get him, and signed my contract with him on the spot. I did not even contact other people because his price is too good to be true. Material is thick as we asked for 70-80% black out curtains with day curtains. He was able to deliver the curtains last week as we mention to him that we ain't in a rush. Wanted to wait until reno is almost over then put up the curtains mah. However, he told me now is peak period for him so he is no longer accepting any orders before CNY. Those interested can contact him after CNY for a better response. Here is a close up of the curtain that I took, you can judge for yourself the material. But for a better feel at it, you can ask him to do a site visit and feel for yourself. To me, this is pretty luxurious already. Feels velvety smooth. I am in love with the ties he provides. I feel that it is very classy, maybe it is something that is lacking of the olden days curtains where they use the fabric tie of the same material as the tie. I much prefer this as it makes my curtains look expensive. When in fact, they are actually very affordable. The price he quoted me is almost halved of my initial budget. I always thought that curtains will be expensive and allocated more than 2k for them. So glad that I met Vincent seriously. My ID even went after I told her about the pricing and asked for his contacts so that she can recommend him to her other customers.
  2. Hi Freb, my TV feature wall is included in my quotation, which includes the craftstones so I did not outsource them myself. I know there are others who went to JB to buy and handcarry them back but it was too much of an hassle for me as the man and I do not own a car. They are too heavy for us to transport also, hence the only things we bought from JB are from tampoi. I chose the craftstones at hafary.
  3. We are not accepting any guests at the moment but will let you know once we do. I am using glossy laminates, my white is piano white for easy cleaning. The wood part is matt though. No regrets so far. I think they look good together. Other than the wood laminate, I have chosen glossy laminates for all of my cabinets. Read somewhere that they are more expensive also, so just choose glossy! Since already inside the package right? Plus I think they look good luh. I ordered my hood and hob through Jerome from renotalk. I mixed and matched my hob and hood because I hear of many good reviews of rinnai hob, plus when I went down to Heritage to see the hob and hood, the sales girl is telling me that rinnai is the original company that came up with internal flame. For my hob, I have gotten Rinnai hob RB-3Si in cast iron. I like the glass version but I am **** worried that I may accidentally crack the glass luh, then will heartpain until cannot. So just get the cast iron once and for all. I don't know how come this hob is so expensive @ heritage and universal union but Jerome gave me a good price for it. As for my hood, I decided to take my sis' advise and go for Fujioh FX900, the one she is currently using. Initially I wanted to stick to rinnai so that both same brand, not so funny. But I realised that their hood require the replacing of filter, again very mafan luh. I hate hassle so when I read that fujioh doesn't require any filter, I straight away went for it. Asthetically wise, not very pretty but very functional. He provides the warranty as well.. Rinnai Hob : 1 year Fujioh Hood : 3years Jerome 9-2-2-5-6-6-3-8 | homeappliances@hotmail.sg To answer your last question, I have not explored any other forwarders so I can't advise you which is best, maybe you can consult the other taobao gurus here? I know amcon is a popular choice. However, peeka is the only one that actually check your goods for you (they are more expensive though). People have been recommending to send fragile items through peeka and the rest to other forwarders, but being the lazy me, I just opted for the easiest way out. Reno already very stressed, don't want my taobao purchases to add more stress to it.
  4. Our Masterbedroom Finally fulfilled one of my dreams - a princess room. I agree with the man that I will not be painting our house pink or any other more girly colour. But, there is always a but.. I will have the french bedroom that I love. In order to fulfill that, I need to buy french furnitures. French furnitures aren't cheap. I went to search for local furnitures, like parisshop online would easily charge $400+ for a bedside table. So I went to taobao, key in french bedroom furnitures @ google translate. Google translate is a lifesaver, seriously and finally selected my furnitures from there. Add it to cart in peeka and submitted it in December. Four weeks on, my parcels arrived with ALL of the items that I wanted for the house. In the earlier post, I have shown my dining table and coffee table. In this post, I will show what french furnitures I have bought and assembled. It was hard assembling it. There are still some final touches that needs my ID's carpenter to help. Especially the vanity, because the seller did not give the right screws to fix the handles. But it looks almost complete. So I can review on the quality of these furnitures. First up, my princess vanity. It looks extremely gorgeous. I was so happy when I see it being assembled. Really looks befitting for a princess hor? Haha, I am so happy that my man is spoiling me with this type of furniture, plus he thinks they look beautiful too. I especially love the rose details. A similar vanity at parisshop online would set me back for around 1.8k. I got this for $500+ including the seattee. Have yet to fix up the handles for the two sides, because the screws given are incompatible so I am awaiting for my carpenters to do something about it. I know it would be fine in the end because they are good at what they do. *crossing my fingers* Received a couple of compliments from people who visited my unit, primarily the subcontractors and external vendors. Also, I got similar bedside tables from the same seller. This is to ensure that they are both from the same series. My heart stops every time I stare and look at them. The workmanship is very intricate and absolutely stunning. Costs about $100+ for one, which is a quarter fraction of what I have to pay if I were to buy in Singapore. Very happy with this buy. Also very heavy, so it spells quality. Vanity table: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=38907922634 Bedside table:http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=17934230089 I'm sorry that I can't answer your questions about other sellers because I only buy from this seller. I believe anything that are bought online is difficult to exchange if there is any defects, quality wise could also be dubious. However, it was a risk I was willing to undertake. The price is too good to be true. Also, bought a french looking bag holder at the same time. There are some problems assembling this. Because one part of the pole is faulty, so it is not stable. Gonna throw this back to my carpenters. I fully trust them that they will do a good job for me. Not entirely happy with this buy. So buy at your own risk. I probably got a faulty one. taobao link: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=39237051033 Can't wait to move the rest of the furnitures in to make it look complete soon...
  5. Hi Countryglow, I am sure your french furnitures will do well. My french bedroom is almost done. I have just assembled all my loots from taobao, including the princess vanity and side tables. It is just lacking the Queen bed which is still at my old house. So happy that I have at least one french theme in the house too. I feel that my house is like those boutique hotel which has many various themes. Open one door and it feels like you are stepping into another world, should change my thread title to boutique hotel home @ punggol topaz instead. I'll PM you regarding Vincent's contact. He is cheap, even my ID says outside curtains can never match this pricing and asked me for his contacts. He provides good follow up too. I feel really fortunate to have met so many nice external contractors during my renovation. Not one that will give me headache. As you are doing your renovation after cny, it should be fine because he has no more slots before cny already. He is very popular in renotalk so remember to pre-book him early. I did not buy from other sellers in taobao so it is hard for me to recommend but if you see any others and read their reviews, go with your gut feel to purchase it. I feel that cannot buy too cheap ones on taobao. You pay abit more really will get better quality ones. Really saved alot, I asked the installers they say if I were to buy the wallpaper in SG, for my MBR easily will cost 4-5k. My wallpaper installer comes from my ID side. She was the one who coordinated for me. I think you have the wrong conception of storage heater. As long as the storage heater has been heated up, it will and should provide hot water consistently up to the amount (in my case 25L) for all the taps with mixer on it. So both bathrooms can bathe at the same time. I asked my electrician about it and he says his house has been using storage heater also, and in the morning still can have hot water one. My electrician did not have any problems fixing up the lights. All our lightings in SG also come from China one, believe it or not. So just go directly bah. I walk into any lighting shops in SG, i also see all the taobao lightings, albeit 10 times more because they are brick and mortar shop, plus they have to eat somehow. Even my ID also cannot stand me boasting about how cheap I got my lightings from taobao already. Plus she knows she don't need ask me where I get this or get that, my answer is always, "From taobao."
  6. Updates on my living room All my curtains have arrived. I engaged the popular renotalk Vincent to do up my curtains. The quality of his curtains are top notch. For my WIW, I opted for blinds. My second batch of taobao items have also arrived and we are in the midst of arranging everything. This time I bought over 5cbm of stuffs so shipping is expensive at about $500+. I have already assembled the living room furniture, namely the coffee table and dining table. So here the pictures! Spot my happy tree friends in the picture. My coffee table slots can be pulled out one. So much storage space to put my remote controls etc. The empty portion can be used to put magazines as well. This came in one piece so there is nothing much to be assembled. Only the legs are to be assembled. The whole piece is very heavy, so I will believe that it is made of solid wood. Quality is decent, the sliding mechanism cannot be compared to blum, but it is still pretty alright. Link: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=35093015994 Also, bought a matchy table for my dining area... This table can be extended from 1.3m --> 1.6m. In this picture, it is at its maximum length which is the 1.6m already. Mechanism is smooth. I bought the one with four chairs. The chair cushion matches my seattee off white colour leather. Link: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=39163377256 I haven't put the chairs cos we still asking for rectifications to be done for the grout lines. But what has been assembled cannot be placed anywhere else already, so bo bian. My living room is looking like a home already. My sofa is going to arrive this Saturday. I can't wait for it Today I tried watching the TV on a make shift chair and it is already so comfy. I think I am going to be a couch potato next time along with the man.
  7. Wallpaper It is tough deciding what you want for the house. Paint or wallpaper is one of the decisions to make and based on the inspirational picture, the man and I have decided we wanted to wallpaper part of our living room. Wallpaper and paint last for about the same amount of years. In fact, wallpapering can last for 10 years, with exceptions to damages from pets and children. On the other hand, painting is relatively simple, just decide amongst the 100+ types of different colours for the rooms. I kept the rooms colours to a minimum if you guys have noticed. Mostly snowflake white with a splash of colour on the ceiling etc. However, wallpapering is a whole different story. There are 12423487 different designs of wallpaper, the type and quality also matter. As usual, I bought everything off taobao. I am grateful with the existance of taobao, I am able to get my ideal house at a fraction of the price. Since my living room are going to be be predominantly brown, we decided to go for something of that tone. After searching for some time, we finally came upon something that we both like. After my ID had finally cleared the haulage in the living room, the wallpaper guys are able to install the wallpaper for us. The wallpaper installers are good. They did this up in less than an hour, leaving me extremely amazed at their speed. My ID recommended us to paste the walls along the window panels as well for a complete look. Meanwhile, after deciding to paste the walls, I also decided that the seattee area is to be wallpapered as well. Gives a more lux feel overall. It was a rather good decision to make for us, because the plaster keep chipping off. The wallpaper will sort of 'protect' the plaster in this way. I bought better quality wallpaper from a taobao seller. The living rooms I bought 10 rolls, left 6 rolls. 10 rolls costs $200+ not including shipping. The wallpaper came better than expectations, even got parts that are abit 3D to touch. Quality is good for the price that I paid for. Anyone is keen to buy them over, PM me. Link: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=17992201259 Another major portion that we did wallpapering is definitely our MBR, because it is french theme and only wallpaper can pull off the look. I bought the wallpaper from the same seller and had to wait for this stock for my MBR but I gladly wait for it. Even the wallpaper installer praised the quality, saying that it is very thick. I paid $500+ for 10 rolls as well, without including shipping. So here is the final outlook for my MBR walls. For this room, my installers used up all 10 rolls. They matched up the patterns really well, it is hard to tell where it starts and where it ends. Happy with the workmanship and also the choice of wallpaper. It is exactly what I have in mind. Almost there. Link: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=35657840343
  8. Thank you tarzanboy and whalegaga, it is a never ending thing to keep beautifying the house. Persistent maintainence is required. I hope I will be disciplined to keep it up and running in years to come. Yannz, you are welcome. You can slowly explore the other forwarders as well. Taobao is not complicated once you are used to it, I remember Oceaneleven wrote a very detailed post on taobao purchases. Maybe you can refer to that for help.
  9. Beautifying my service yard my way Guys reading my thread, I think you all can skip this post. So not long ago, we decided to keep some place green for our house since we abolish the idea of a green kitchen. There were two places that we painted green, namely the bomb shelter interior which nobody will see, and the service yard. In order to fit into the "forest" theme, we decided to paint our pipe brown which look like sh!t tree trunks. We decided to expedite the washing machine and dryer delivery to an earlier date since our carpentry are all up, and my ID decided to only install the kitchen swing door after everything has been shifted in. So after the delivery men had went off, I decided to beautify my service yard my way. Tangle all the roses on the pipes. No scotch tape was used. I merely just keep loop it over the other vines until taut. I still have some excess rose vines which I intend to fill up the remaining gaps. I got these a long time ago from ebay so I already misplace the links. Just search rose vines on ebay and you will find it. The man says that one colour rose is nicer but I disagree. I think like this is nicer. Anyone is with me? This will not be the final look yet, because I am going to paste some more wall decals on the sides of the wall to make it truly "forest" theme.
  10. Here you go: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=40479626960 I recommend peeka for the shipping of bulky and fragile items from taobao. I just rummaged through my batch 2. Nothing broken again.
  11. My kitchen light is LED type, so if it is spoilt, I have to replace the whole light, cannot just replace the bulb. The track light link is not working because the seller had relisted the item with new features. I am unable to review on the newer version so I can't provide you with the new link. You can browse around using the keywords on taobao though. Thousands of sellers are selling similar things. Just that I can't vouch for the product. You will have to read through the comments and decide if it's good to buy or not. Need to do some homework for yourself. Afterall, it is your own house. Hope you will find what you are looking for.
  12. Yup, my ID company made their own piece as well. So mine looks abit different from that picture. However, I much prefer mine, don't know is it user bias. I have posted it up before, but here it is, in case you have missed it: I agree on how it makes the bomb shelter abit more presentable too. It is a must have.
  13. My first DIY project And it goes to... our dining light This is actually the second dining light that was bought from taobao. Buying from taobao has its perks and its disadvantage. The product may turn out to be crappy but it was a risk I was willing to undertake. Unfortunately for me, the first dining light turn out to be a piece of junk. It couldn't even be bent to the desired ball shape, and the man and I gave up after struggling for over 1 hour plus. We have not install our ceiling fan then and were sweating buckets before we got frustrated and decided to throw the junk away. So there I went, for a second round of shopping for my new dining light. After searching many links, we finally found one that we can agree upon. This. The white one. We got the big one at 35cm. Taobao link: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=43143316811 Alas, the wood that it came along is more of the Scandinavian feel, which falls short of our more brownish hue. Original holder. It looks like a funnel but I like to think of it as our mushroom dining light. Haa.. No matter how hard we try to persuade ourselves that this will fit into the colours, we could not. I have a hard time convincing the man that I can paint stain this into a right shade of brown and to trust his artistic wife. He finally gave in and went to nippon to get the wood varnish paint. We chose the colour under timberlac series, NTG03 Mahagony. I only gave it a light coat and brush off the excess. Any more it would have been too dark for our liking. It has a glossy sheen to it after it has been stained. We are fine with it as long as the colour suited the theme. Only need to leave it out to dry for a day and it will be good to go. Final look: Matches the small kitchen fan seen in the distant. Remember to replace the china provided light bulbs with philips one so that they will last longer and less heat emitted. Especially since the dining light is a hanging one. If it becomes warm after a while, tendency to switch it on will be lesser. So.. this is my new and finalized dining light After numerous challenges face and effort put in, if you guys don't find it nice also don't tell me ok? I think I will go and bang wall. Hahaha.
  14. Thank you for sharing my views. I will convey to my ID that got people think she is really generous. She sure happy until.....
  15. Hi crystaltiong, The cabinet is inclusive in my overall carpentry so it is difficult to break it down for you. I can PM you my ID and you can get a quote from her. You can find the cost for the glass panel in post #99. Lastly, I threw both the HDB basins away. I know it is very wasteful but the basins are very small and not to my liking so I did not want to retain them.
  16. My dining seattee Who enjoys sitting on the cushion side off the seattee in a restuarant? My man and I used to fight over it whenever we had the chance to. Sometimes, we even sat side by side so that we can not only be closer to each other and also cos we like sitting on this type of seattee. So we decided for our first home, we are gonna have it. Not only it saves space. It also help to fulfill some of our dream house bah. Now that my dining seattee is also almost ready, I shall share it with you my favourite part of the house thus far. Favourite cos it is my resting place whenever the workers are working and I am down to supervise them. It is basically my sleeping spot because we had no furnitures yet. Okay, so first we have this. I asked for the outside edge to be rounded so that it is child proof. Also the bottom are slanted so that there is more leg room for us. I specially asked for one piece on top because I hated the lines in between if it were to be separated into two (it also can be used for storage, talk about awesome). So let us check the insides to see what is supporting this big piece of wood ok? Wow three blum systems!! I'm pleased with my ID's generosity. The man says we can use it to store our snacks and not let anyone know. Cos we love snacks so much. I couldn't agree more. Finally, the front part was empty because we decided to put cushion over it.. and the day it arrived, my seattee is now complete. You can also spot my new dining light and bronze tinted mirror over here. Now a bit rushing for time, so will update on the dining light in a later post.
  17. Third part of my common bathroom transformation Due to me buying a stand alone sink from taobao. I needed to erect a half wall to make the HDB pipe fit the hole of my stand alone sink. No choice because I either have to live with a gap, mosquitoes breeding in between the gap due to the entrapment of water which I cannot remove. Sigh. Another one of the hiccups I experienced in this reno. But my ID very kind lah, adhere to my request of having mosaic tiles as the ledge. At least it is like I paid some more to beautify my toilet. I know these mosaic tiles ain't cheap. It is constructed painstakingly by only one tiler, using hollow blocks. The tiler shifu did it in 4-5 hours and I am pleased with his workmanship. No need to buy ledge to put anything there also good. Save abit of money on bathroom accessories. The last part will be the installation of the mirror and stand alone sink Finally ah..
  18. Hi Shawnie, It was in my original invoice dated some time back. So the pricing may no longer be accurate. It costed me roughly $150-200 each. If you are able to outsource it, the price may be even cheaper.
  19. Hi Irene Toh, I'm glad my ID is putting in effort to make my home looks good. She also thinks it is of showflat quality. My house is *almost* ready, just lacking the furnishing and some more plumbering works. We are looking forward to move in but at the same time, not much facilities now. So abit sian to move in. I have extended my kitchen walkway out until you walk in from the main door, turn and look it is my kitchen liao. This is to cater for my dining seattee so that I won't block the kitchen entrance in any way. Choosing this route is not easy because you have to hack away some of the floor tiles, hack away the floor, and most importantly, hack away the tiles and sides of the kitchen tiles, cos it will look very weird lah. The highlighted part is the part that needs to be hacked away too but I did not realize it until the very end, caused us quite a bit of grieve. Then my ID says if need hack away need to do up permit again. So she offered me another alternative, which is to put partition board and plaster the entire wall up. So crisis is solved. Just don't make the same mistake as me. Every mistake costs money. Although I think mine got very little of these hiccups already. So I am thankful for it. My kitchen door has not been installed yet because my ID has been waiting for all my deliveries to reach and install in the kitchen first before putting up the glass door, which is a pretty smart thing because otherwise my glass door is in danger of getting bang and then broken. I only have a not-so-updated photo of my kitchen entrance but I believe it will help you see how I recreated the kitchen entrance. My new kitchen entrance, and the reinforced glass partitions. Hope that this helps you in your reno, may you have a smooth one.
  20. It is provided by my electrician. He said he did this for his own house too. The only thing is it is a bit noisy, you can really hear the time ticking away after you turn it. Like a time bomb. LOL.. Just kidding. You can PM me if you want his contacts. My kitchen sink is from taobao. Link: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=18699924608 I bought the smaller size, 780 X 430. It really look abit small after my ID did undermount for it. But I think it is still enough for me, just that cannot put those kind of zi char wok la. Hahaha. This is how my sink looks like now. I love this tap because it can be pulled out to spray at the sides of the sink that cannot be reached.. Also from the same taobao shop. If you want a bigger sink, maybe you can consider their bigger range, still the same price though, so it is like more worth it. However, be sure to inform your ID so that they can cater to the bigger sink.
  21. Common Bathroom part II So... the other day when I went to Tampoi to buy my ceiling fans, I stumbled onto their storage heater. It was cheaper by $40 so we decided to just get it as well. We have weighted the pros and cons of a storage heater. I shall list these down from some googling online. Storage heater is insulated tanks holding in my case, 25L of water with electric heating elements. The storage heater stratifies with hot water at the top and cold incoming water at the bottom, so that I can draw hot water and get consistently hot water until the hot water is nearly depleted. A key advantage of storage heater is that the heating element is small. A properly sized storage type water heater can provide a household without requiring a very large flow of electricity to heat the water. The only disadvantage is that it looks bulky and it is troublesome to switch on the heater for at least 16 minutes prior to usage, which means you cannot straight away jump into your house and bathe expecting hot water. Also, some people may tend to forget to switch off the heater switch after 16 minutes.. But my awesome electrician solved this for me. I figured 25L should last me for quite abit, because only will have two users (me and the man) as of current. Hello there my JH25. Please don't fail me. Affixed at my common bathroom. My chio silver switches which I requested the electrician to replace. On the far left is my storage heater switch. It functions like the traditional toaster switch. Just turn the knob and let it run, when the timer hits zero, electricity will be cut off and my hot water will be ready for usage. So I will save electricity and not worry that I may be wasting away my electricity because of my forgetfulness. Isn't it ingenious? I am so impressed with technology. This was a disadvantage of storage heater which turned into an advantage for me. My pet peeve for bathroom is that I suddenly get extremely hot water that burn me or onset of cold water. It will totally cause me to be moody for at least a while. So far I have tested the water heater and it seemed good to go. I get warm water instantaneously after and water temperature is constant. Just hoping that I won't regret on my decision on not to buy a bigger volume storage heater in the future.
  22. May I know which sink you are talking about? The one in my common bathroom or the one in the MBR bathroom?
  23. Common bathroom (Part I) This will be the first time I will talk about my common bathroom. Punggol Topaz generally follow a white and blue theme. Naturally, the bathrooms come equipped with white tiles and blue mosaic tiles. I am not complaining because I find this combination one of the better ones out there. After knowing that I will eventually get a blue toilet theme as one of my bathroom (since my intention is only to overlay my MBR bathroom), I began to think long and hard about how to change a blue toilet into something that I will love.. So aha! We came up the idea of having an ocean theme. I began my search in taobao in getting one of those pretty toilet seats, because we did not want to replace the WC in this bathroom, but will like to do something still so that it does not look so HDB. Found one long and hard... but the loot that came is not the one that I ordered! This was the one that came. Thankfully, it was not too ugly, and I thought it was okay so I gave the go ahead for them to install. The original taobao link : http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=15987515111 So unless you want a surprise when you open your package, I highly suggest you all NOT to buy it. Build a cupboard above the WC so that we can store some stuffs in here as well, having live in a house whereby my mum do build in in the toilet, I feel that it is a necessity to have it. Also sourced for the cute seashell door knob that the carpenter had placed at the bottom left. Here's a close up: Taobao link: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=3338797011 As usual, happy with the workmanship as the insides of my carpentry is covered by wood coloured PVC. Also examined the hinges, all using blum as well. My rainshower set. Very heavy. Feels worthy of the price I paid for it. Tap, shower set and rainshower, water pressure is good maybe because I bought a storage heater and also I am staying in one of the lower levels. I bought the one with adjustable height (Very important!) and also the one with thinner flat panel so that it looks sleeker. Taobao link: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1352358635 Overall outlook of my common toilet for now: Still pretty satisfied. What we are still lacking is that we have not install some toilet accessories which I will go through in part II. Also because we have decided to erect a half wall near the basin area because the stand alone basin I bought will not fit nicely into the HDB water pipes. There will be half an inch thickness gap whereby water can get trapped in between and it looked kinda ugly. Nonetheless, the half wall will also allow me to put things on it and acts as a ledge. Hopefully it is money well spent.
  24. JohnB, hmm it is just the regular glass backing which I got them in white instead of black. My ID referred to it as spray glass. Yeah tomorrow is going to be a big day My toilets are going to be fully functional Can't wait to review the taobao bathroom accessories that I have purchased too. They look really good but I am hoping that they function really well too. *crossing my fingers*
  25. We were pleasantly surprised when the kitchen table top was installed yesterday when we went down to monitor the renovation progress since it is the weekend. The graphite table top was supposed to be installed on the 17th of January according to the schedule my ID drafted out. Sooo.. we are ahead of schedule Happy max. Seems like black galaxy is the only choice my ID offered to us. She says that the rest of the graphite options look like stone. Tested my vento fino fan as well. Wind power is goooood. Sink and hob are installed by the guys too. I bought the famous sellena taobao sink from taobao, but it looked kinda small after my granite top is up. I guess this is the one of the disadvantages of having an undermount sink. But consolation is I have more working space between the sink and the hob. I was so afraid they would be so close together. Plumber will be coming to connect everything on Tuesday. Can't wait to wash my hands from the sink. We demolish all the HDB bathroom sinks, so the only water supply that the workers have access to is the common bathroom shower set, which also will be demolished on Tuesday as we are going for rainshowers for both bathrooms. I went for the 40mm look for the kitchen. I guess this is personal preference, the thick slab of granite just gave me more confidence that they can handle the heat. My own logic. I am dedicating this free table space on the other side to place my airfryer, ricecooker or slow cooker etc. The eubiq track is on this side of the wall as well, albeit hidden. The granite top for the MBR bathroom is 20mm, so that it will look sleeker. The rose sink is place on top to show how it will look like. Really glad that the rose laminates, graphite top and red ABS trimmings are all coming together and how they gel together. I have also imported some rose decals to paste on my glass shower partition. The workers will be back to check on the top and perhaps repolish the surface as we have found some areas that we aren't too satisfied with. Hope that all turns out well in the end. The house looks pretty much put together for now, I woud say it is almost 80% done. Works that are still pending: 1) installation of my aircon unit (Coming Tuesday!) 2) plumbering + installing bathroom accessories (Coming Tuesday!) 3) spray glass for my kitchen (??? Given 21st Jan but looking at how my ID has always been ahead of schedule I will expect it to come sooner.) 4) installation of some of my taobao lights (currently being shipped still!! Maybe next next week when it arrived) 5) wallpaper installation (Next next week) 6) deliveries of my best denki buys (TV, fridge etc) + bosch items (end of the month) 7) delivery of my sofa (end of the month) 8) fixing up of my taobao batch 2 items (end of the month)
