haha cant wait for sept to arrive for visit soon hehehehe

Hehe, paiseh couldn't arrange to meet when I was back in July!

I'll invite you over when everything is done up nicely together with my home deco stuff and furnitures

  2. Hi, looks like you have well planned the wardrobe sections. Can I check with you if the second compartment left side section - drawer type? Maybe would be helpful if you can post a closeup picture. TIA

    Hey aluka,

The second compartment left side is drawer type :)

Did it that way so that I can pull out to take things from the back. Reason for doing it is because if it's normal shelves, I will have the tendency to forget the things hidden behind clutter.

I'm not in Singapore at the moment, so can't take a picture.. Will do it when I'm back in Sept

  3. Guess no one printed canvas print for home before.. Will go research a little and share my findings then.

Anyway, have decided to split up my taobao sharing as I bought close to 60 items for this round. I actually think it's a reasonable amount. Talk about being a shopaholic!

This post will be for the furnishing and decos for our living room area.

    Includes the following items:

    - Lamp to be placed beside sofa

    - Chanel inspired remote control holder

    - Chanel inspired tissue box holder

    - Dyson inspired bladeless fan

    - Decoration to "frame" the area

    - Wall clock

    - Sofa cushions

  4. wow..2k plus!! haha, glad that you are almost ready to move in ^^

i can't shop efficiently on taobao website, always can't find what i really want, so only can buy from SG which i believe is a lot more expensive.

Haha ya, can't wait! How r you in your new home so far?

I think shopping on taobao and tmall + all the liaising on aliwangwang with the sellers and QQ with my agent definitely up-ed my chinese level a lot.

Win-win! Cheap stuff + brush up my chinese at the same time :good:

But buying from SG has its pros as well. No lemon goods. I'm now crossing fingers my stuff come safe and sound!

  5. Hey that means you save at least $2450 SGD if you buy those stuff from SG

True that. I think I saved more than $2450 SGD in total as compared to buying from SG. Should have chanced upon the TB group earlier... If so, I think I'd have bought my lights, toilet accessories, sink etc all from there. Greater savings! :good:

However having said that, I have also bought many things I wouldn't otherwise have bought in SG. The number of posters and frames I've purchased is definitely an overkill. I hope I have enough walls to hang them all....

  6. Hey. I would like to ask about your kitchen glass door as I'm doing the same. When open up and lean against your wall is the door opened @ 90 degree? I noticed your door handle didn't contact really contact the wall. Any stopper required? My neighbor did the glass door and the wind kept slamming on it. No idea if the hinge would make a difference.

    Hi cuttiz,

It could be slightly less than 90 degree as my ID placed a translucent stopper on the wall that is in contact with the door handle to prevent us from accidentally slamming against it.

It's something that looks like this and is pasted on the kitchen wall:

    il_340x270.369017090_812y.jpg

No stopper required to make it stay in place, once we opened it, it pretty much stayed in position..

Do you mean the wind in your neighbour's place is so strong that it blows open the door when it is supposed to be closed?

  7. This aircon isolating switch acts like a main switch to stop power supply compressor.

You can off it if whole family is travelling away for a few days.

You should have one somewhere, it is a standard requirement.

Ic... Will ask my ID which exactly is the switch then.. Thanks!

  8. This is air con main switch my dad always kept it off so we kids couldn't turn on the ac with the remote! Until we found this! Lol.

Oh.. seems a little late for me to find out about this now. Will keep in mind for my next renovation~ Haha!

  9. No prob! i believe some can even do it at no additional cost.. you can try that.. hahaha

Paul is very helpful.. everything will be fine.. jus that things might take some time to reach..

anyway, a little update regarding the black lines issue between the laminates.

it looks like my contractor has managed to cover up those line that are exposed..

dont know what they used.. paint or silicon maybe?

there is also a minor flaw for the kitchen door i used..

due to its light weight.. the door will close by itself when the wind blow from my service yard..

mentioned this to my contractor and he said this is why he recommended us to use glass door instead...

however, having said that, he will ask his workers to think of a way to prevent it from closing by itself..

lets see what they can come up with.. hope its not something too ugly..

Please share how your contractor covered up the exposed lines! Really want to find out.. :)

  10. Hi Oceaneleven,

Actually the reason why I go through an agent is because I have no idea how to order and send it direct to Singapore. I understand that there's a forwarder called 4PX or something but I dont know how to order and input the forwarder's address. The other thing is I'm not sure how I know whether which item has reached the China forwarder's warehouse and which item hasn't reached. I heard 4PX is not prompt with updates or sometimes doesn't even update?

My agent doesn't check for me the items but he orders for me and updates it instantly everytime something reaches China's warehouse as well as update whether seller has dispatched it for delivery or hasn't. I can then decide whether I want to ship which items to SG first if the rest haven't reach.

If you could enlighten me how ordering directly from seller works, that'd be great, thank you!

Go to O11's tblog. Super detailed taobao advices :good:
