  1. Hi myi!

Nice to see you here as well :D

And ya, its possible for WIW by hacking away the store room, provided your master room entrance still remains the same position.

Dun look at mine cos i totally changed my master room entrance due to feng shui purposes. Now my new master room entrance is actually my store room entrance, with my existing master room entrance sealed up.

If you were to hack away the wall joining your master room & ur storeroom, then viola! :dunno: There is the space for your WIW! Just gotta build partition wall and do up sliding doors, seal up the original store room entrance and there is your WIW liao!

    Hi

Newbie here..jus bought a 3 Ng,wanted to find out if anyone has actually done 1 wiw for the mbr by hacking the store room?thanks

  2. Hmmm....1 thing i guess that turns me off from Samsung (Was initially eyeing on the 32R7 white) is that the screen is soft screen. LG is hard! Dun have to worry about children poke here poke there

yea seriously considering LG. was going for 42LB1R but itz only 1 HDMI input. other options were samsung s/r 81 or philips. since LG recently launched new models, might take a closer look for final decision.

called up LGE Sg earlier afternoon, they are not bringing in the LB and LY series which meant for western using NTSC. however they may be bringing in another new model sometime in september.

seriously how did u review against other brands in terms of picture quality and functions.

Oh ya....my LCD tv rotational console carpentry works is already up! Do go to my renoblog for pics of it!!

  3. Hmmm...mine is only a wardrobe. not a WIW. Length is 7ft, so not very big.

You will be having an altar in your house too? My ID looked at me when i told him to design 1 for me and he thot i was crazy! He said nowadays, seldom young people wana have an altar in their house for fear of spoiling the design of the whole house. Thats why I told him to design a plain & simple one for me as im not gona buy from outside, with those weird colors, carved dragons and what have you...

Maybe I grew up and have been praying to Guan Yin for my whole life when staying with parents, so feel abit weird if new house never pray. Still, I felt that its better for some god to be "watching" over our house, haha. Call me traditional, but thats me ! :D

hey looking really good!what's the inside of the wiw like?hmm was thinking of doing the same.. hehe looks like we might be having the same tastes!right down to the altar..u got it from id?

Wow....you have so much in depth knowledge on these, think I gotta ask you for advice when im going to "Qing3 Shen2" :dunno:

i can sense Guan Yin Pusa's blessings on yr home already =)

An altar is also a meeting point of faiths for yr family and the Boddhisattva ... constantly communicate with Guan Yin by recting his holy name "Namo Guan Shi Yin Pusa" 南无观世音菩萨“ which means "homage and adoration to the boddhistava that percives the worldly sound"

In the Lotus Sutra Chapter 25, Guan Yin Pusa vow to the Buddha to bless and respond to every single call and prayer if such a man or woman with pure faiths recites his name for even once.

hope that yr home will be brightly lit up with Guan yin (Avalokitesvra Boddhisattva) compassion and protection both for the external and the hearts of yr family.

    Homage to Lord Buddha !

  4. Haha...not masterpiece lah. Just a normal & humble "Er ren shi jie" for me & my wife after our wedding in Aug.

Not spending more on reno to achieve masterpiece status as we do not plan to stay in this unit for long...cos definitely not enough rooms for children to run & bump about in another few years time! :)

  5. Always nice to have fellow forummers sharing their pics :P

Think the only thing different between both of our units is that yours is resale while mine is "brand new" from HDB, thats y i didnt do up kitchen or toilet tiles. Toilet sinks & taps never change also. All still so brand new! Abit waste if dismantle away and change lor... :P

So how much is your reno setting you back?

yup took photos for 'before' shots, very old reno so no choice have to spend.. will update here once the wet works done..magazines? erm got no taste lah heheh..

  6. Yup, so remember to get your house featured in magazines woh! Can show others how nice a 3room can turn out to be also

My furniture just normal ones from Star furniture. Delivery will be in early July, home appliances delivery will be in end June. All these only after house handover by ID and complete area cleaning by me & my wife before all the things start coming in

So how's your reno status now? Did u take photos before reno commenced? :notti:

haha ya evy1 hopes their house turn out good..so far like the spaciousness la..what sort of furniture u got?hmm the kids factor might not be so imprtant for me la..but i was told u can still build partition bk if need be..

  7. Wah....you dun intend to have chidren or intend to only stay in your new house for a few years before shifting again?

Me & my wife actually also toyed with the idea of hacking away bedroom 2 to extend living area, but decided against it cos it wun be the only 2 of us staying together in another few years time after having children. Decided to be practical abit lor :~

Bet your house is gonna be done up really nice as u hacking away everything and extending space throughout, just like those featured in magazines :deal:

yup it's all gone..n forgot to add storeroom it's all gone! bathroom is really small so decided to hack that 2.liked ur bathroom glass door though..no kids at the moment so err..

  8. Hmmm.....maybe doing plastering of the wall will make it smooth?

My wall fom HDB also uneven and full of lines from the bricks used in the construction. After plastering, its very smooth.... !!

I plan to use one of my living hall walls as a 100"-104" projector screen (will be using some special mix or matte gray paint) but I think the default wall fresh from HDB is not flat enough.

Is there a way to measure the flatness of the wall and how to make it flat?

  9. Hi myi,

Your unit is also 3NG? My unit is now already in the last stage of renos which is basically carpentry works. Now just waiting for them to start assembly after they are done with the individual pieces in their factories.

Handover should be a single digit date of June as told by my ID. After which all the furniture and home appliances will start coming in! :D

    Hi Sean

Nice place you have..I've got a place that is like urs..how long is ur reno taking?i've just started mine..

  10. I purchased it during their pre mid-year sale in April....original price for the hob alone was $1099 (Much cheaper than other unheard of brands for electric hobs if you were to view from Best Denki, HM or courts)

However, theres a $400 discount off the original price due to the sale, so i got it for only $699. :sport-smiley-004:

Didnt get a hood as me & my wife seldom cook (Maybe only twice a week?) so not going to have a white elephant sitting in my kitchen just to look nice. :P

hi ..may i noe how much it is? if jus buy the hob, is it more ex?

  11. Hmmm....samsung not very advisable....even though their designs do look better than the rest....

I just placed order for LG 32LC7R the day before. $1699 with free LG DVD player & HTS. You can take a look at the pic which i have in my reno talk blog if you r considering LG LCD TVs. :thumbs up:

360 swirvel is nice and serves as a purpose to segregate certain areas. however the cons are the cost and area needed. not ideal for small living space and open concept.

seems like samsung lcd has been very popular. im still considering between philips/ samsung and lg. samsung has very cool physical designs. philips has s-ips panel. was going to order the samsung s81 or r81. however, i chance up the new 2007 lg lcd which has faster response time, better refresh rates and itz s-ips panel for 32" and above. i think the latest that brought into local was lc4 and 7. i'm eyein the lb4/ 5 or 9 which has better picture quality. will call up lge to find out more. can't wait to setup my dream home entertainment.

  12. Ya...actually i also do not know why the spots appear in the pics....i already wiped the lens but they still appear in the pics... :jawdrop:

I was even thinking if these spots are spirits?? *Watch too much movies liao...haha  * My house already went through the proper prayers upon 1st time door opening and before renos commenced leh.....

However, some of the pics from fellow forummers also have these spots, so maybe it could be the camera bah zz

hi sean, you have quite a detailed blog of your house photos :jawdrop:

cant help but notice a few spots in the pictures.. is it ur lens or flash, that may have some specks of dust on it ... just thot your well done photos would look better without the spots... :good:
