Hey Sappyd, got those hanging bulbs from taobao! Geez.. for the laminate flooring, my quotation from kronotex came as a whole, living room and 2 bedrooms. We are using the 10mm one, i think.. Can't remember.

Oh no, no.. my father-in-law works for an interior firm, but he does only carpentry stuffs. We still have to go thru his company to get him to do all carpentry works. We still need to pay his company $$! We did not engage an ID from his company, reason being, me and my husband know what we want for our house. And do not want to spend the 'extra' cost hiring an ID from his company, just because we want my father-in-law to do the carpentry works. Ours was a 'special' case. But yeah, i agree.. carpentry works is really very expensive in sg! We do save quite a bit, engaging the father-in-law. Somemore he helped to fix all the bathroom fixtures. I know if you find ID, all these labor will be charged!!

Master bedroom is kept simple with customized bed frame and headboard and wardrobe in the same laminate. Adding 'groove' line to make the same colored furniture look less boring. Thanks to father-in-law suggestion on adding the 'groove' lines. IMG_1560 by mrswongjas, on Flickr IMG_1565 by mrswongjas, on Flickr

Pink? maybe under red??? Oh.. n studies say people with brown wall have the 2nd least sleep because they have most sex. And people with red wall have the least sex, although red is a sexy color. Hahaaaaa... i just told that to my husband. Ok enuff of wall colors! hahaaa... what if some people paint like 4 colors in one room? Hahaaaaa

We retained the original hdb toilet wall and floor tiles for both toilets. Feeling lucky because the brown mosaic kind of goes well with the rest of the house. Overlaying will cost some $$. So we chose the cabinet laminate to match the brown mosaic as closely as possible. But still retain the 'woody' theme we have for the rest of the house. HDB provided pedestal sinks were replaced. Original master bedroom door was replaced by a sliding door. To save space. IMG_1573 by mrswongjas, on Flickr Spot the Francfranc paperbag!! The recycled art pieces is now sitting on top of my toilet bowls and above my headboard. Erm, don't use shengshiong plastic bags k! haaa... Here's the dining area, where i can 'peek' at what he's doing! And he can also 'peek' at what i'm doing. hahaa The dining area is my new favorite place to use my comp now. It's quite windy in the afternoon, and not to mention bright too. IMG_1603 by mrswongjas, on Flickr

Thank you! I think the best part of reno process is to DECORATE!! hahaaa...
-
Yes. We need to 'pull' another tv point for the middle part of room, as well as add in more switch points. Because the middle part of the wall does not come with any.

Like many forumers here, i'm addicted to taobao shopping too! But i only bought small decorative items like the union jack chair pads below. The cake tier thing was bought a year ago at kings and kings wong for only 6 bucks i think?! What a steal! Soap bottle dispensers, they got really nice and cheap ones at taobao too! A peek into the husband study/game room. It is not 'complete' yet. This is the room where he's free to do whatever he wants! Because i get to 'decorate' the kitchen and the master bedroom. Hi honeykitty, for your rainshower head, do u think we can actually buy and fix it ourself? Or need plumber to install?
-
The service yard seem alittle 'empty, so we bought plant and tin pot from ikea. By using recycled string and tie around the tin pot. Viola, i got myself a hanging potted plant! IMG_1640 by mrswongjas, on Flickr Mentioned earlier on, that we engaged my father-in-law to do all carpentry works, we were quite fortunate to have BLUM fittings for almost every piece of built-in furniture in the house. Survived on the 16 piece crockery set. IMG_1650 by mrswongjas, on Flickr

Speaking of rugs, we've been buying many many rugs for the house. Because they are easy to clean than carpets. I just dump them into the washing machine Rug for the dining area IMG_1595 by mrswongjas, on Flickr Rug for the passage way IMG_1598 by mrswongjas, on Flickr

kind of like a plastic rug. so i can wipe in case of any spills

Full length windows so nice! Congrats on getting your new flat!

Hmm.. the solution is to off the tv during dinner time! hahaa.. Actually not much interference to both of us. And when the dining area is near the window, you got a 'view' when you have your meal.
