    Any of you bought the squarish-lock? Am wondering where is a good place to buy. heh.

    u mean the gate lock?

    got mine at the furniture shop opposite blk d - cost $68.

    tension got hers for $128 if remember correctly.

    she got contact in the lift.

    difference is mine got a joined line for the part where the key hole is but hers don't have.

    supposely hers to be better security as cannot break into 2 :dunno:

    maybe can check with the furniture shop opposite whether they have tension type of lock.

    Yup! The sweet potato soup from desserts stall too!

    got to check first mah as the so-called receipt is very simple one.

    will give u directly as wat i was told.

    1) clean the green bean in the pot.

    2) clear those bad ones, with holes, black, etc.

    3) fill pot with water and put to boil.

    4) boil until soft or how u like it.

    5) put sago in if u like.

    6) when sago translucent, add sugar to taste.

    7) once sugar dissolves, u can off the fire.

    for sugar u can use "pin tang" yellow one better than white.

    or there's a rectangle shape type.

    go medical shop and ask.

    personally i prefer to use gula melaka, those authentic one as it's more fragrance. :wub:

    u can also add sweet potato in the green bean for a 2in1 dessert.

    sweet potato soup is similar to green bean.

    if i cook sweet potato, it's usually with green bean.

    if u really wan it, can find out n let u know.

    Hi,

    Anyone here got solution so tis pest can stay away frm our hses?

    I remember reading abt some hsehold solution (non-chemical) but forgot wat now.

    BTW, those frequency controlled plugs/electric gadget to deter insects, bugs.. any1 uses them & r they effectv?

    those roadside trees tat hv round, green fruits like apple.

    used to pick fr the ground and put at hm, seems like lizard don't like the smell so will avoid yr hse.

    but now don't seems to saw tat type of fruits along road.

    i'm not afraid of lizard but their sh*ts hor cannot stand, sh*t everywhere.

    another method i heard but not yet proven: egg shell.

    put egg shell where they will appear.

    try and let me know whether this method works.

    for mozzies, especially if you hv young kids, put a few drops of medicated oil (eg ax brand) on the four corners of the mattress.

    yr kids will not get bitten for tat nite.

    above method tried and proven effective.

    another method just came to know but yet to try: Listenine

    ya, the mouthwash.

    put the liquid in a spray bottle and spray the area but need to spray every few hours.

    tink tis method good for outing.

    update:

    pebbles are all given away by this evening to redcrystal,dracula and babymaro.

    wooo...I didnt know it is so heavy until I drag them out 1 by 1.

    should have build up a muscle or 2 while doing there.

    hope that trolley is of help to those who came to collect their pebbles.

    Hi Shivan

    Mine is also the sliding grills. I think not advisable to use fixed ones as u might need to access the glass windows in future to clean. Who knows, the govt will force us to change rivets again ? :P

    My house? Sigh! They came to fix my storage heater which we checked and realised it was not working. When my hubby called my ID? He said maybe his worker did not connect the wiring thats y cant work. He even told my hubby off saying that we should tell him all defects at one go. He wants to have the last payment ASAP cos his worker is waiting for his pay.

    If he dare to say that to me, I would definitely tell him off. Who in good mind would fix the storage heater without connecting it? If we din check, how we know. He is making us so paranoid that we cant take things for granted and got to check through everything. I havent stayed in there yet and wouldnt have thought of checking the storage heater if not for reminder from my brother.

    He better dun push his luck too far...my boiler will burst anytime. Dun make me write an official complaint to his bosses. Afterall this is his ricebowl. :furious:

    my id did not ask for his last payment until i shifted in for abt 2-3weeks.

    when i did not called him for any more defects then he called to meet up.

    actually only after u shifted in then u would notice certain defects.

    in my case, my storage heater also did not work when wan to take a shower.

    all wire ok, water pipe also ok but just do not heat up.

    so how would u know until u shower rite.

    at least my id did his job and arrange for joven to come down to check and replace a new one.

    yes the storage heater is faulty.

    if u paid last payment, any more defects and with tis type attitude, don't tink he will retify for u.

    wah never say anything abt drillings on weekends. guess i got no case.

    another question for original enbloc owners: do you change your window rivets to the stainless steel one as required by law before you return the flats to hdb? i am returning my flat soon, and hdb officer they wont take it back if they found that the windows rivets are not changed. i was like..aiyo, going to demolish the blocks already still have to spend $$ to change to the rivets just to return the flat to them..what a waste of $$ and no rationale at all. :dunno:

    for the window rivets - yes, confirmed must change !!

    agreed with u - gg to demolish why still need to change the rivets - waste my money :furious:

    especially window is solid and sturdy.

    after shifting in very tired so just arrange to change, no mood to reason with them.

    changed mine 2 weeks ago - cost me $100.

    pls remember to ask yr contractor to give u the form b with all his particulars filled.

    this very important as hdb want tis form when u handover.

    I see.. I am a currently subscriber and I called starhub yesterday on how to transfer my box over, the officer told me just to bring it over and call them and they can activate it on the spot, 24 hours service.. dunno true or not.. will be trying this weekend. :dunno:

    WAhhaha...we got ours last week, sponsorship from my hubby godmum !! black color tiles somemore...my first time using black tiles also...excited to open shop the tiles leh.. :notti::notti:

    Hi Redcrystal,

    There was once that I remember that was mentioned in this forum. Cos after that within 2-3 days when we went up at night to look see and could not get our 'emergency' LED night light to work, I remember about the trip mentioned here. Then HB had to go fiddle with the circuit breaker before got electricity.

    after staying here for about 1month, experience 4 power trip.

    the best part is it happened 3times in the morning ard 6-9am on 1 sat and 2 sun. :furious:

    so definitely not due to reno going on.

    hv called town council last fri but todate the officer hv yet to return call.

    call again today, the girl who picked up informed tat they are looking into it as they received a few calls on the same issue.

    will post here if there's any update.

    blk B neighbours, better get a independent light or torchlight as seems like only blk b got this problem.

    hv ask blk c, d and e - they don't experience power trip.

    i am also from 79B. I was initially wondering whether the cracks on the ceiling could also be due to the renos just above my unit. one thing..they have been drilling the walls for the past 3 saturdays when i was at home :unsure: i thought the workers are not allowed to do drilling on weekends

    Has anyone done the racks at the bombshelter? I want to do also leh.

    Meepok and babymaro. Thanks for showing me around in your house. Envious leh. I also managed to get the bar for the towel hanging on the kitchen cabinet.

    Just an update, I just wrote to Town Council to complain about how dirty the area is. No one came to sweep the floor and i have cigarette butts of a month old still lying outside my house. Hope more can write in so that they can start doing work. Heard that one unit in Blk 79A got broke into and the lightings were stolen. Forumers, do be careful when you locked your doors

    call town council - 62596700 (number now save in hp).

    during my reno period, outside my flat was very messy and lot of rubbish.

    after 2weeks no one came to clear, fedup so call town council - say they will clear.

    after 2days when visited my unit, still not clear so called again.

    5mins later, 2 workers came to clear. :notti:

    ladies, if u doing the bombshelter rack let me know - i'm interested.

    Hi ryuki,

    When I saw you at 79C during the weird hour,

    I knew it is not easy to get back the deposit. :furious:

    The best timing to ask for deposit is when their shop is packed with customers during weekend like today.

    No point approaching them when their shop is empty or you will be played out again.

    It will be good to make use of the presence of their NEW potential customers to pressure for the deposit.

    They will try to protect their image and might issue you a refund.

    Use some nice words like "not able to meet that ID, he seems to be avoiding me", "I can't wait as my company SPH need me to be out stationed soon (let them think u are working in Press sector)".

    Don't have to raise your voice, if ID not around (Best) ask them to call him on phone to verify.

    Hope that you don't get me wrong, I am not asking you to create a scence. :rolleyes:

    yes hdb toilet tap is a mixer.

    if u having hot water, u can use back hdb tap if don't wan to waste money.

    that coffeeshop also sell nice Rojak and Char Kway Tiao.. the cockles very fresh.. but the auntie selling Rojak abit "Dao"..

    yeah rojak is good but to me there's a better stall.

    in air-con bus terminal, there's a basement food court, the rojak there better. :rofl:

    go during peak hr, you can easily wait 30-45mins.

    usually go during non peak, also got to wait 10-15mins.

    anyone tried the blk 69 market selling porridge, fried bee hoon, etc hk style?

    shd try their or kueh, wow heaven, so smooth and tender. :P

    Hi tension,

    Like I told you the other day, you have way too much patience. But I can also understand that you dun want to flare in case they make the matter worse. I also dun know what I will do given your scenario. Am still waiting for the independent contractor to give me a call to see if she can comedown later to look at my uneven tiles. If not for that tiles problem, my house would have been ready by latest early May.

    For those who have not gotten their ID, my advice is to sign up with those your frens or relatives have their house done by them and full of praise. I will see how the independent contractor who did my grills work. If she is good, I will recommend as she did my cousin in law's house.

    I signed my ID at a Expo exhibition. Now I know even if it is a established or prestigious firm, it also have to depend on which ID is serving you. There are the good and rotten apples around.

    Lastly, for those who hasnt visited our nice and cozy food court downstairs, you may wish to avoid the fish store...yuks is the word to describe. The price of the breakfast set is also "kill ppl put fire" with coffee tasting like sugered water. Sigh!, Renovation ganna "getok", even taking dinner also ganna "getok". With so many coffee shops in tpy, I think we have better choice.
