  1. If i am not wrong, when the fengshui master use flying stars, u may not be able to agar. For each of the 8 directions, there are 3 sections, eg. N1, N2, N3..., classification on which depend on the degree.

So if you agar wrongly, u can't spot water star 8, which will give you "water".

oh when i said agar agar, the diff is probably +- 0.5 degree. i try to visualize a straight line from the direction i am facing with the line in the compass. hopefully won't result in too much diff in the classification :thumbs up:

  2. Mine need to align the needle to the North before taking any reading. With the needle on the north, it is very difficult to guess the degree. Are u using those that does not align the needle to north?

mine should be the same as yours. I also need to align the needle to the north before taking any reading. then based on the direction i face, i agar agar take the degree line that point to the direction i face

  3. Found this Initial Opening of Door procedure on geomancy.net

Did you all do all that

    Procedure:

    1) Door open by facilitator - ALL call out " PING AN FA CHAI ", then throw in PINEAPPLE (x1 pcs); then facilitator hand over the keys.

    2) Prepare RICE and GREEN BEANS - Husband & wife (no outsiders except for own or family members can be around) to sprinkle ALL over the house

    - Mix the rice and green beans together. (Leave a "cup-full" of green beans - for later placement at the living room area).

    - During this procedure, make sure that no outsiders are inside the home.

    - For example, if it is a condo, the condo facilitator must leave the apartment. Own family members can remain eg. parents).

    - The purpose is to "sow" wealth into the apartment. Thus, it is not a matter of sprinkly lots of rice/beans but rather, try to sprinkle all over the apartment inclusive of the toilets/yard.

    3) Prepare FA GAO (x2 pcs - can be brown, yellow or pink). If white colour FA GAO make sure that a circular red paper to be stuck/placed on top of the FA GAO.

    - Place one FA GAO in the middle of the room

    - while the other FA GAO with 3 oranges and 1 red packet with some money e.g. 2 dollars, 20 cents or 80 cents will do - on top of the kitchen stove.

    4) Prepare 5 types of FRUITS (include the PINEAPPLE, ffice:smarttags" />ORANGE/ KUM, RED APPLES, RED GRAPES, BANANA). AVOID: PEARS ONLY.

    - Grapes should preferably be purple or reddish. But not green or black coloured grapes.

    - for countable fruits such as oranges (Kum) & apples please purchase 5 each to be placed in the middle of the living room. For a bunch like banana, or grapes, no need to count.

    5) Prepare TEA LEAVES (tie kuan yin) and place it in the middle of the living room.

    6) Prepare COTTON WOOL, WATER and a DISH for germinating the GREEN BEANS and place it in the middle of the living room.

Item# 3 - 6 : These are to be placed at the middle of the living room.

    7) In addition, at the 4 corners of the LIVING & DINING room, place a set of 2x ORANGES + 1x Red Packet of 20cts - total : ORANGES x8 + RED PACKETs x4

    8) In addition, at the KITCHEN, place FA GAO x1 and ORANGES x3 on the stove.

    - with an ang pow with 20cents or 2 dollars or even number notes/coins will do.

    - Do not sweep the floor on the three days of placement. For example, if placed on Saturday, only sweep the floor after Monday i.e. from next Tuesday onwards ONLY.

    - After this date, all the ang pow money can be used to purchase sweets or sweet-drinks for own family consumption.

  4. my procedure was:

rice, oil, salt, sugar, vinegar, "huat" kuay, some charcoal wrapped in red paper in red bowl (signifies burning stove). open door, roll in pineapple, then first 15mins turn on all the lights and boil water. first night (if u sleeping there) turn on living room lights, if got balcony, turn on the lights.

i think not all items are neccessary, depending on yr dialect group? but i just followed exactly from FSM.

This one is for move in or for enter house date ah?

Move in is when you start to move in to stay right?

I heard got Enter house date as in when you first get key , the first time you enter the house as owner

  5. Hi Kajua,

What compass did you use? Was it electronic one? I had wanted to know mine directions in degrees, but it was a conventional one with the arrows, so i cannot tell exactly how many degrees.

    Hi Nipponho,

I didn't use the electronic one leh. Its those conventional type which i bought at pasar malam :jawdrop: for mine, the degree is indicated on the compass itself, so not a prob for me

  8. there is a wall facing my main door. thinking of painting the wall green or brown, then hang a black or dark color string curtain on the wall. instead of using the normal lights, i intend to hang 2 vietnamese silk lanterns (probably use red/purple/green/orange)

    http://www.vietnameseartwork.com/itemList.aspx?GroupID=208

however, was wondering if there is any fengshui implication if i hang lantern at the foyer. i know white lantern is for funeral, so i avoid using white. how about other colors? don't want to end up attracting unwanted things :)

  9. I am getting the keys to my resale flat soon :dribble:

My first home, so I want to make sure I do things right :notti:

Can someone tell me whats the things that I have to do after i get the keys?

Can i just go into the house or must find auspicious day and time? Then can go into the house for the 1st time?

What do I need to bring to the house when I first go in?

How about renovation? Do I need to find an auspicious day to start or anytime my contractor ready i start? Anything I must do before the contractor starts?

Any other information will be much appreciated

  10. I read in this thread all the good things on Ho Bee so far only problem seems to be chasing him for quotes.

With regards to work wise, is there any delay in his work? As in once he confirm a schedule will he keep to it?

How do you all normally proceed to get Ho Bee? You get quote , sign the contract then bring him to the flat or you bring him to flat, get final quote, then sign contract?

  11. Have a question on Stove and sink placement

The existing owner and the owner before her, both got FS master to look through and the sink and stove placement are now like this ( blue is the sink, red is the stove)

    5I_Kitchen.jpg

I want to build a service balcony cause the flat does not come with one. So I am going to tilt the sink 90 degrees

Can anyone advise me which one is more feasible for me from the 2 options? Should I place the stove as it original position and just move the sink like I wanted to or should i move the stove back to the other side of the kitchen since its no longer faceing each other but 90 degrees to each other

    Thanks

  13. Okie lah, not the best. My piglet dun like them. Stick to ho bee if you are looking for contractor

:( ho bee is also one of our shortlisted contractor :D my hubby was very impressed with their 3 layers of waterproofing!:(

oh one more thing.... after shortlisting the IDs or contractors, what do we do next? whats the norm? can anyone advice?

    1. meetup the IDs and contractors (we got our quotes thru email), further discuss the quotes, narrow down the list until one then bring the shortlisted ID/contractor to view our house?

    OR

    2. bring all the shortlisted IDs and contractors to view our house for more detailed quotes then narrow down to one ID/contractor?
