Met few IDs for past 2 wks, and from all the quotations, we may choose A&D or Ideal House, but looks like A & D can give lower price on carpentry work, is it bcoz Ideal house is not own a carpentry factory? Or cheaper material using?Not sure whether they got carpentry factory or not.
Could be that or could be carpentry in Malaysia one. Thats what we found during our research. I think some ID have their own carpentry shop in Singapore so more ex, others got it in JB so cheaper and of course others get outside carpenter
Have you tried comparing the quality of carpentry work of the 2 ID? I think that would be more important

I was recommended to Steven by a close friend of mine. However, he has been giving me the impression that he is very hard to be contacted. We had to call him a few times before he would pick up our calls, and that he say he would call us back but did not.Understand that he could be a busy man but the first impression (via phone have not even met up in person) was not that great so far. Hopefully once we manage to actually sit down with him we would feel something more concrete.

My choked drainage pipe problem has been resolved successfully today. Plumber came down again , Steven also came down to make sure everything okay. Told me they will come at 11am but plumber came 10am before i even had my breakfast and started working on it
After everything was fixed, the plumber and Steven ka kia all waiting outside for him, he was in my kitchen moping the floor for me!!
I told him no need, he said wet not nice wait got foot print. so keep moping,. even washed the mop for me

Yippeeesssssss Problem solved!!
Plumber came down with acid that melt stones/cement and metal only . Safe on plastic. Pour 1/4 bottle , wait a while..then flush a few times..even with the washing machine (just to make sure with higher pressure also go through)
CLEARED!!!!
Steven also came down make sure everything was okay. Thats super after sales service
Now no need to wash floor after every laundry

Celest, dun scare me leh. I also haven bought WM yet coz no one staying there and no pt having a white elephant to pay and waste warranty mileage. No way to dislodge the stones from your unit?
Can dislodge but the way the piping in our house was run, it makes it a bit diffcult to reach thats why we having problem dislodging
You can see from this picture my hubby took after hacking. Got 1 smaller L shaped pipe connected to the main pipe. So the basin all directly go to the big pipe, the WM connects to that L shaped pipe. So the opening of the L shaped pipe in the big pipe is quite low whereas the basin one the all connect to the top of the big pipe. Think the clog is at the L shaped pipe.
Thats why the plumber ask if can go to downstairs and open and clear. That pipe is HDB one so cannot be touched. I think maybe last time during hacking got stones drop inside but cause the WM drainage not regularly use so no one really go and check it .
Anyway I check with my downstairs neighbours. Their pipe all boxed up and got a lot of stuff in the cupboards. I see already scare to even ask.
Anyway steven say monday he will try to get his plumber pour acid drainage cleaner. See can melt some of the cement away then maybe can flush through. Cross my fingers
skywolf, you can test your WM pipe now. Just connect a hose to your basin tap then the other end directly put into the WM drainage. If you turn on the water and it doesnt overflow out then should be okay
Haiz..now worse come to worse I just buy a longer WM pipe to conenct to the existing one and lay to the bathroom.
Would you all let the ID remove the cabinet and hack the floor if you were in our shoes?

Wednesday after coming back from trip was doing laundry saw the water seeping out from the floor!! Immediately call Steven, about 1030pm . He said he will come down next day to check. Promptly next day 1230 he appear to check
Today plumber came to try to clear. Failed even though he use the water snake pipes. Steven monday arranging for another crew to come and try to clear.
Eventhough currently the choked in my washing machine drainage not cleared but I am very impressed with the prompt response from Steven eventhough it has been almost half a year since our hand over

just discovered that our Washing Machine drainage pipe has been choked all along Previously we thought the outflow was too fast thats why keep overflowing fom the pipe, so bought a long pipe and force it in so cannot overflow..haiz sunday saw the water seep out from the floor!!!
Thats when call Steven. He came down next day chop chop and checked .
End up it seem like the drainage pipe was choked. He got his plumber come today. Plumber just left but still choked cause too many stones and stuff inside...sigh now must ask downstairs if allow us to open the drainage pipe from below ..if cannot...either hack or forget about using the drainage for washing machine
Least the other drainage pipes are all still working very well ...haiz

Hello all !! I finally signed up with Idealhouse after much research. My ID is Steven Tay. He is very professional and so far, he always take the initiative to follow up with us on the design and layout and the nitty gritty.
I would say very responsible guy .. and easy to talk to.. he will try to advise you and whether the ideas you give is practical or not etc.. Previously we had signed up with another firm but few months down the road no respnse at all from that firm.. glad we found idealhouse and very satisfied... currently still undergoing the discussion on the layout with Steven . Will update the progress in time to come !

If you wrap the trunking and water seeps in, because they are wrapped the water stay in between the wrapping and trunking and takes a longer time to evaporate. Will that cause the trunking to corrode even faster as it is soak in a wet enviroment a longer time? Wet and hot?
Versus if it is not wrapped, any water is evaporated off quite fast?

We using the wooden one, now hunting around for curtains. Just manage to find a few not too bad ones at reasonable price at TPY central.

Already go there on weekends to laze and cook Cuizino hob and hood are all okay liao. Just once a while forget must hold 5 seconds on max setting before letting go ... The chimney sounds like a vacuum when we turn it on. Otherwise its quite good.
Your dining table set is quite unique ...is that different color chairs? Btw what wood is the table made of? FYI, ours is from Wihardja , similar design, when we put a hot pot on it using those cork pot coaster, somehow it left a white patch on the surface

Long time no update the blog, been a bit lazy
also FH out of town so lazy to take picture Also been tired , every time go up to the house have to clean clean clean. My FH always say no one living there now, clean for what. But I just like it clean
, own house mah. Clean uptime one day i was coughing so badly from the bleach fumes, my FH drag me out and scolded me Anyway our sofa FINALLY CAME!!! after like 3 months!! 1st the sofa was in stock then the tv console was out of stock then wait wait wait. Finally came!! Heres what it looked like

I think we made it like 1 feet short, so there is a gap between it and the door frame. But its quite good and solid....FH say maybe he will put a fish tank there ....

Anyone managed to get quotation for required works that amount to less than $10 k from Ideal House? And how long did the quotation take to arrive? I want to shortlist Ideal House but still no "You've Got Mail! From Ideal House." email audio alert from my mailbox leh.Might be a good idea to call up the ID or the company to asked about
Most of the ID are running around from projects to projects, sometimes till quite late at night, so they usually dont read their email till they get back to office or home

Sharp Aquos A33 is one of our choice too. Tai Sing at Toa Payoh is now selling A33 32" for $789 till end of June.

The wiping is a killer. I having one which is to wipe every yr. Can puke blood coz so dusty. But got 1 way. Use plastic w blue tag on sides. Yearly just change the plastic cover.But i need more depth for my 2 stuffed toys.

Looking For Contractor To Remove Rubber Tiles

Have 3 rooms laid with vinyl/rubber tiles
Now getting old. Thinking of ripping out all the tiles, clear off the old gum and just use cement floor . Maybe with a coat of paint on the floor
Anyone has any contacts for contractor that can do that?
