  1. Hi,

May I check how long does your wooden alarm clock last? I put 6AAA batteries and less than 1 week is flat... zzz

MORE AND MORE UPDATES! CFO & I bought so many things these few days... So I suppose today will be more of a product-sharing-session if you will... ;)

If you smell smoke in the air, don't be mistaken. It's not from the haze.

THE SMELL IS FROM THE HOLE IN MY POCKET THAT'S STILL BURNING TO THIS DAY. HAHA.

:D(You don't know how long I waited to crack that joke in here. ;))

REVIEW ON #BONA SPRAY MOP (WITH #BONA LAMINATE & TILE CLEANER SOLUTION)

    gallery_54206_10_81644.jpg

CFO & I bought the #Bona Spray Mop from the Bugis Junction BHG at the time of the last post & it's time for us to give back to the Renotalk community with a review on it's usefulness! :) The #Bona Spray Mop comes at a whopping $71.70 :jawdrop: (price dated 21st Sep 2014) but so far we have been pretty pleased with the purchase. :good:

As usual, my buddy #MrDFMuscle was the one who recommended this product to me & I think it will come as no surprise to some of you Renotalkers here when I tell you that I had a hard time trying to psycho CFO to allow me to buy the #Bona Spray Mop.. Wahahahaha..

    PROS OF #Bona Spray Mop

    - Ergonomic handle & spray-squeeze-lever fits into our hands nicely & makes handling easy!

    - The mop feels very solid & doesn't creak; doesn't have plasticky-feel & can handle rough treatment

    - Benefits of having a spray-on mechanism means that we don't have to lug a bucket of water around

    - Spray-on mechanism also ensures that no water puddles are created from mopping or from spillage of the mop water bucket (main bane of laminate/vinyl floorings & the trump card I used to convince CFO of this purchase :P)

    - The #Bona microfibre pad at the base makes the push-pull action very very smooth... :)

    - The #Bona microfibre pad can be easily detached & washed separately (even in the washing machine!)

    CONS OF #Bona Spray Mop

    - Expensive lor. (still need to say meh. haha... :notti:)

    - You are basically moving the 0.85L cleaning solution around with the spray mop, so it is a tad bit heavier than conventional mops (although from my personal experience, this is negligible & the smoothness of the microfibre cloth more than compensates for the amount of force required to push & pull)

    - We used the #BONA LAMINATE & TILE CLEANER solution (be careful not to buy the wrong cleaner type for your flooring, there's another hardwood floor cleaner from #Bona) and it gets a tad bit sticky when you immediately walk on the surface after you've just mopped it. But it's no biggie because it dries right up after a couple of seconds :)

    #EUBIQ ADAPTERS BOUGHT!

CFO & I bought our #Eubiq adapters at a recent sales event by #Eubiq themselves!! There are quite a few variants of adapters.. There are various colours (black, metallic silver, white) & comes in 2 materials (metal or plastic). We actually bought from their retail store at Suntec (nearests MRT station is Promenade Station).. We bought 8x white-coloured plastic #Eubiq adapters but only took 2x British-Standard adapters back home because we are waiting for the stock of the white-coloured international-plug-compatible version to be released!! :D Here are our pictures pictures pictures!!!

#Eubiq track in the kitchen! Blue LED light comes on when it is clicked in place & energised. :)

    gallery_54206_7_118513.jpg

CFO also very cleverly bought these 4x #Eubiq track accessory acrylic hooks for use in the kitchen so that we can hang our cups etc. Each packet of hooks comes in a set of 4.

  2. We do not want the top cabinets because it is to stop us from storing redundant items. We learnt from our parents' mistake of having too much things. We felt that grinding is costly so we have it excluded.

That is the part we were very uncomfortable. Upon checking with external electricians, only then we got a clearer view. Those two factors should be included in every point.

Microwave and oven points can use the normal 13Amp points. We have to create such points due to space constraints.

    Not quite. VERY expensive.

Yes! We were puzzled why MRT tracks cost so much. The electrician whom we are engaging told us that the price of hacking and conceiling will be considered as per point rather than lump sum. Thus the breakdown is clearer now.

Hi, All! Thank you for the kind inputs.

We decided to engage an external electrician whose quote is much cheaper. Even he was surprised by the hacking and concealing costs. So, he will come in once the renovation permit is approved. HDB is taking too long...!

Hi, can share with me your new electrician? I am also thinking of engaging an external electrician as my contractor's quote seems too high. Thanks!

  3. $3098.. pretty high end range.. actually wanted to get the $1999 + $300 Purchase-with-Purchase microwave package previously but the package ended everywhere, it was replaced with another package with another hood which we dislike and a lower end oven.

Harven Norman could still give me that previous package but with a lower end oven and an increased price to $2.4k.. very reluctant to spend more for something less so end up purchase a higher end package with the latest hood..

Hi, just wanna check the package is suppose to be 2699+599= 3298? Went down to millennium walk and saw the offer.

  4. Thanks for highlighting. Initially I thought they are the same one with factory in Air Hitam, but apparently they are competitor to craftstone. They also have a slightly larger one, called Rustic Brick, that Craftstone do not have at the moment. Check out my edited post above.

One good thing about them is their willingness to arrange delivery to Singapore including handling of custom import permit etc. I have confirmed with them, delivery charges is RM200 per pallet (30 sqr meter) + RM50 custom fee + 7% GST. :good:

Hi, you have pic of the rustic brick? The delivery charges seems reasonable.

  5. I think they only delivery within JB. You will have to get it transported by to Singapore, also need consider when crossing custom, may subject to taxes.

Do you all think it is possible to purchase from Taobao?

I think this one is the authentic one:

    CraftStone® International Sdn Bhd
Batu 35, Jalan Air Hitam, Bukit Batu,
    81000 Kulai, Johor, West Malaysia
    tel: (60) 7 6511 888
    fax: (60) 7 6511 088

  6. Yes craft brick definitely looks better. :good: I am getting a very good price for stucco wall from my ID, my quote for the wall using craft brick or fiber board from other ID easily hit $2.5k if not $3k (average about $18-$20 psf). I have another option which is to buy craft brick from JB ( RM7 psf) and get my ID to lay, which work out to be about $8-$9 psf all in, just that I am too lazy to get this organise. I also like the fact that stucco can be drilled, just in case if I wanna add a few items on the brick wall in future.

Hi Dandelion, I am also thinking of doing brickwall initially, but my contractor quoted me $3.5k to do a 6m x 2.6m wall in my living room. I find it too steep and decided to dropped the idea but now you mentioned that it is possible to transport the brick from JB, could you share with me how I can go about doing this? Many thanks in advance :good:

  7. Guess what, my ID actually thought of an ingenius idea that really impressed us! He made a S curve but bend it in such a way that can accommodate a ceiling fan nicely! My false ceiling is done now and with all the lightings, the effect is really superb!

    Hi,

Able to share some pic of ur false ceiling with ceiling fan?

  8. Dear all,

I am looking for a fabric down feather lazy sofa that have a seat depth of at least 1 meter. Tried on the camerich lazytime sofa which I love it very much, but unfortunately, it is very expensive in furnitureclub. http://furnitureclub.sg/collections/camerich/sofa/.

I googled it in taobao and the price is 5 times cheaper than Singapore (exclude shipping) anyone can advise if it is safe to purchase from this site? http://item.taobao.com/item.htmspm=a230r.1.14.42.kjvwiU&id=24637948090

Also does anyone know where else in Singapore can I get a similar set of sofa at budget sgd 2k?

    Hi Nexer,

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Could you share a little more about the craftstone?

i.e, How much you pay for per carton? Where do you buy and collect in Msia? How do you transport it back to your unit? How much does your ID charge you to lay the craftstone?

  10. Hi, apologies but I forgot, but you can ask the craftstone lady to calculate for you or your contractor.

Hi Jaykr, could you share with me how do you transport the craftstone from Malaysia back to SG? The amount you paid is only for labour excludes cost of brick right?

  11. So I have finally been able to confirm my renovation project with my ID, who will submit the approval for hacking and let me know when the works can begin. I will meet him on Friday along with his co-workers to hear out what instructions are given for the project. In other news, I am so excited to have bought a new fan with a sleek design for my living room! I also managed to source for really cheap track lights at a store which is so old school it looks like a warehouse. Here's the picture of the fan I ordered. Hopefully my ID will provide the 3D drawing of my house soon enough. =)

Hi VincentWangZX, very lovely fan! care to share where and how much you purchase for the fan? Can you also share with me lobang for your tracklights? :)
