  1. Fully paid-off? Means? His house already paid up fully? then sold to earn profit back to his cpf ac?
  2. the water jet would clear the dust and light marks, but not those extreme cases. There are some footprints at my floor which been there since 2008. As one of the forumers said, take it easy and our days will be better .... today our corridors just jet sprayed ... floors look sparker but not sure for how long .... the letterbox areas are worse ....
  3. For those who have facebook, you may want to join in the Tanglin Halt Blk89-91 Group. Can chip discussions as well as participate in meetups. Cheers.
  4. Ic .... like dat we share the same interest ..... travel for food .... yesh ... good food ... I used to take NEL to Kovan cos there are many nice local delicacies in the HC, e.g. ba chor mee, chicken rice, laksa, etc.. Also enjoy gg to Lau Pa Sat for satay and BBQ fish. Yummy .... How abt the frog porridge and beef noodles along Geylang Road .... they are fabulous too. Now waiting for the durian season .... i meant the cheap and good kind.
  5. Yes, both stalls do sell packages. Just that IF the one at level 1 is closed, you may still proceed to the one at level 2. We had already ordered from them twice. As for the dorm thingy, many future potential social and security issues would need or have to look into them. They will most probably buy their beer from the nearby NTUC, wonder to all the nearby shelters, void decks, parks (along dawson) and the worst case will be loittering ard at our neigbhourhood. Think the COP thingy need to be in place before they shift in, esp now with the NTPS opening next year, "more light and place" for them to "rest & relax". In future, depends on situation, better to escort your wives back if they are working OTs beyond certain timing .... yes indeed. Both my wife and I love food too. Just that we are controlling for two reasons - health and size. haha. Cant eat too much unless balanced with disciplined regular exercise. I just passed my IPPT for this window and will last me till next Sep. Yeah! Well ..... we can always organize group makan session and try different food at different places .... you have definitely chose the rite place to stay. Where were you/your wife staying previously? Your nick "richman" .... maybe you shd bid for that land .... then develop into a land of different makan/eateries place, e.g. Nonya, cantonese, hainanese, teochew, indian, malay, etc... like dat, we can still exchange culture values rite? hehehee
  6. That's true, many nice makan places ard here. In fact, if we explore beyond 2km (say abt 3-4km), i rem there is this old shop along sunset way that sell nice Paper-wrapped chicken .... they are still there cos one of the recent makan show featured them on TV. Can drive there and experience their hand-made/home-cook food. If not can take bus 61. Can also try the ABC market along Jln Bt Merah Road and the Alexandra FC. Nice and cheap food. Cheers.
  7. I thought it was that shop located in the TH market area, beside the kuey chap stall. I tried several times since last year when shifted in. Taste not bad though, and if you are lucky, you will be able to get to try the yam-filled round-shaped pancake. Try .... not bad. Hope more nicer food is on the way here .... cheers!
  8. Welcome to TH yster and wifey. You are right! A lot of nice zi char stalls ard our area. In fact, the "Sheng Ji" located just abt two-three bus stops away from here is good. They are situated along Holland Road (the beginning of it), opposite SPC petrol kiosk. Recommended food is their crab noodle, swet & sour pork, hot plate stuffs. Also can try the rojak and western food there. Sorry, I cant rem the block number, but easy to locate. As for the famous chicken wing staff located at CW 16th flr, I also cant recall the shop name. But everytime I go, sur super long queue. The uncle very good .... always display your ordered chicken wings nicely on the plate or bag (if you are taking away). But my wife commented that for the same price $1.20 per pc, Ikea's tastes better and of cos, juicer and bigger in size. From the same shop, you can also order mee or mee hoon and other fried items. For you guys to try and comment. Along Farrer Road,. there are one or two teochew restaurants (if I recall correctly) located at the extended area of the HDB flats ..... if you take a double decker bus and sitting on the upper deck, you will definitely see it and crowded at night. Their food is nice and reasonably priced. Tried once. As for the hawker centre at Queenstown, the food there generally not bad. Very crowded during lunch time on weekdays. On weekends, there is this stall that sells dumplings (fried or steamed) located at level 2. Taste not bad but they require to order I think at least 8 dumplings per order. Good for bigger families. can also try their watery hor fun or char mee. Pay additional 10c (hope its correct) for free flow of tea. The char kuey tiao at level 1 is a bit oily for mee .... anyway, nice food seldom healthy. Hehehe. The chicken rice is superbly nice .... got two stalls - one at level one middle lane and the other at level two. Both taste equally good ... I will buy whichever stall is open. Lastly, try the popiah ....for normal makan, can buy from the shop at level 1 facing NTUC. If for mass catering, can order the skin and cups at level 2. Okie, that's all for this time ... will report more next time .... Meiling FC is yummy too ... still within 2km rite?
  9. refer to this: http://www.spf.gov.sg/career/po_rank.htm http://www.spf.gov.sg/career/so_rank.htm
  10. Understood and noted. Maybe my English failed me this time. I am just trying to state the fact that IF I am so so lucky to be able to manage to secure a $2 COE for CAT B, then yes ... i am one of those in the showrooms in Leng Kee Road. of cos, you cant get that if already announced in the bidding exercise, just like our HDB flats .... but got to learn from Sat's papers that some car brands still offerin "$2 COE" ... those non-Jap brands ... u know what I meant ... hehehe .... rem to read the fine lines too.
  11. To solve this, you can arrange to sell your car to exporters, i.e. the non-authorised sellers. Usually you shd fetch a few grands higher. but more admin work to be done though. Cheers. Yes, i am also thinking to subscibing to Straits Times on Thurs-Sun only, cos more news on these few days (thicker ... hehehe). Not sure got such arrangements. Contacts pls. Thanks! Yes, I knew that. What I am trying to illustrate is that if there is such a chance for Cat B COE to fall till $2, I will be one of those who will visit the Borneo or Honda showrooms. Think abt it. People to rush to buy Cat A cars, COE for this cat increases. How abt Cat B? Possible to fall below Cat A? hehehe ....
  12. Read today's New Paper that a couple managed to bid for a $2 COE online for their new Volkswagen Beetle. Cool hor. How wish I can also bid for a $2 COE. If can get, will definitely get a new Jap car, Toyota Wish or Honda Stream. Cheers.
  13. BIG RATS appearing again .... Yes, agreed. I have been eating the chinese "guo tie" since many years ago when i was working near MOE. Now still taste as nice. You may also want to try the chicken rice and fish ball noodles at level 1. Not bad too. If not, can eat the guilty char kway tiao (quite oily). As for Western food, our own market one also not bad ..... hope LJS can be replaced soon .... maybe change to KFC or BK ..... hehehe .... $2 COE leh .... Toyota Altis costs only $55+k .... likewise for Honda Civic ... petrol price now only $1.5/$1.6 .... not a bad choice to buy a car now .... but costs still very high .... hehehe ...
  14. hehe .... maybe migrate all the rats and millepedes to those hot spots .... then the rubba rubba couples will slowly disappear .... youngsters nowadays really arh .... too exposed in public liao ... can do anything ... u know I know lar ....
  15. Hi Space, thanks. I am fine ... just that am busy with office work. Yes, RATS are running freely across paths. Pest control is definitely not working and lacking. Who can we feedback this to? Residents .... please voice this out to MP or anyone else who knock your doors the next time and ask if you have any feedback .... hate these rats and MILLIPEDES!!! And how abt the paintwork at the roof garden ..... now becoming more of students "hanky panky" place .... sigh!!!
