A short update on what has been done.
Air con company sent their men over for the first installation of the trunkings and pipes. As we did not take leave, so we left it to our ID to oversee the installation, since prior to that we had already met up with the air con side people for a site survey. Installation seems alright, with most of the trunking well hidden, except for MBR because of the weird location of our outlet point to the aircon ledge. Oh well, I suppose after painting, it should be able to blend in.
Review on air con company so far... the customer service side is really good, although installation team seems quite problematic from time to time (they requested if we could postpone our first installation on the day of installation itself, but we insisted that we couldn't change the dates) and in the end they managed to stick to the original timing and arrangement. Trunking looked alright and presentable, so we shall see how final installation goes.
Painting work will be done today. All rooms will be painted in Nippon Vinilex 5000 Snowflakes, with a wall in the MBR painted Maldives Sand. We also confirmed our grilles and blinds installation.
Renovations seems to be progressing smoothly for now, and we are really looking forward to end completion soon!
On a side note, just wondering if this is the norm, our ID actually mentioned that the plumber will be coming in this week to fix the bathroom WC and shower fixtures. So does this means the workers will be using our WC and shower too? I do understand that they need to relief themselves, but I am not really comfortable with the idea of them showering in my toilets, using my new toilet fixtures. Any advice on what I should do?
Thanks!
Ask your ID if it is possible to fix the bathroom WC and shower fixtures till the end?

As I do not want to have built-in cabinet for my kitchen, I bought a kitchen cabinet a few months back.

The shelves on the left can be pulled out if I am using the oven or boiling some water whereas the shelves on the right are stationary and I can store my utensils or whatsoever.

simple design can, complex design is better to get ID
Did some painting (diy style) before commencement of renovation. It's only for rooms as we're not doing massive renovations in any of the rooms except to install normal lights.
I like the door frames so much, dark colour is definitely nicer than grey
So, before painting, we have to putty the little holes around the walls/windows/door frames, then we use a scrapper to even out, set in the first coat, then colours (normally 2 coats)!
Putty, painting and brushes (total costs) - approximately $350
After you put the putty, it would be best if you can use a sandpaper to sand that "putty" area first. The reason being that the paint can adhere to the area better!
I am also doing the painting myself!

My 2 water heaters have been installed over the weekends. I bought 2 different brands. 1 is BeeBest water heater which comes with its own rainshower! Yay!
The 2nd water heater is the good old 707 Compact water heater which i think that if BeeBest failed me (I din see many people using this brand and its a msian brand), at least I still have 707 loh...
BeeBest Water Heater:
Verdict: Water pressure is good with the rain shower as well as the normal shower head! Actually, i think the normal shower head is much powerful than the rain shower! I guess because BeeBest has a DC pump incorporated inside for the purpose of having a rain shower.
707 Compact Water Heater:
Verdict: What can I say as this is a good old trusted brand. I am using this brand at my current house for at least 10 years liao...
Personally, i feel that the Water pressure for BeeBest Rain Shower is the same as 707 compact normal shower head. However, water pressure for BeeBest normal shower head is much stronger than 707 Compact normal shower head.
I am glad that I made these purchases!

Are you installing wooden doors for toilet? Do be careful. I gotta change my wooden toilet doors to aluminium doors because the door and door frame have disintegrated as the previous owner did not take care of the doors!

Due to my tiny kitchen, there goes my dream of having a big fridge...
Luckily, I managed to find a slim fridge of specifications, 59cm (width) x 181cm (height) x 63cm (depth)! it has a capacity of 365 litres!
I plan to place the fridge at the entrance of the kitchen, hence, a slim fridge will not block anybody's way into the kitchen.

I have confirmed with my aircon choice.
I bought Toshiba aircons. 1 will be placed in the master bedroom and 1 will be in the common room.
The Toshiba aircons cost $2,700. BTU is 20k. The insulations used are of 1/2 inches thick and 22 gauge copper pipes. The warranty of the aircons is 5yrs for compressor while other parts are 1 year. The warranty is given by the agent.

Renovation has started!
The main renovation is actually my small kitchen since the rest of the house seems ok.
This is how my small kitchen looks like:
As I do not like built in cabinets, I bought a franc franc kitchen cabinet to store microwave, toaster, canned food, spices, utensils e.g. plates, cups etc.
I have asked the contractor to hack away the stove area and create a smaller cement area on the left for the stove. As for the right side, I will be placing my franc franc kitchen cabinet there.
The sink area will still be the same except that I need to shift the whole sink slightly to the left hand side (nearer to the window) so that I have some working space.

u may try call alex.. his service is good. I hire him for my windows & grills & toilet bi-fold
Thanks for the suggestion.
I have decided to leave it to my contractor as he is charging me a cheaper rate of $450 for 2 doors. I guess he has earned from the hacking of door frame n patching and tiles, so, he can charge me at $450 for 2 doors! I can't lugi like that!

Hmm I kind of cannot accept those not uniform look ...
That is part of the living room and the door and wall is 1m inside from the beam shown ...
Oic. Can't tell from the photos. I thought its the kitchen area.
Hmm.. are you able to demarcate that 1m area into something else? To make it look as if you purposely "make" the beam like that?
