  1. Hi, could you also please share e led distributor please? And how is the herf flooring holding up after a year? I'm contemplating to get herf for my whole unit but am still a lil worried over maintenance and it being really scratch resistant... thanks in advance! (Tried pm you but I guess it's full... :) )

I used Evorich. Till now still like new very tough. My wife mop the flooring twice a week like mopping ceramic, so you go imagine....

  2. Hello sforshor,

I fully agree with you wrt getting good quality lights. The main culprit for LED light failure is usually the driver. And when you go to a lighting shop to look for a replacement driver, they would tell you that "they are all different and you have to bring yours down to get a compatible one". Meanwell is a good driver brand from Taiwan and I'm glad your supplier stocks them. Can you please share the contact? Thank you.

    Sure, good luck.

  3. Hi sforshor,

I've just read your reno journey blog and I have to say you've done up your house very well! Congrats! Cld you pls share, as of now, if your lights have been giving you any problems (flickering/dimly lighting up)? I plan to engage Gary as well.. Also, cld you share where his warehouse is located? You may PM me. Thanks in advance!

Thank you. So far so good. The downlights are as bright as newly installed. I just love the clean brightness..... I think good driver and chips play this big part. Good luck

  4. Hi Sforshor, kindly PM me the LED contact please.

    Thank you.

    Good luck.

For friends like VVT. I will just input my comment here as I said I am the kind very particular with lighting. And I assumed many people are still puzzling what is LED lights.... anyway, before renovating my current unit, I already got my past experience on the previous house using LED . At that point of time, I only compared the price and go for the lowest, I didn't even know what is chips what is driver.

I got 32 down lights and a 15 m strips last time . For the first 3-5 months, everything went well until the sixth month, the problem came. 3 or more starts to flickered, another row of 4 begun to "change colour " , some dim some bright. So I was thinking, never mind, there are warranty.

So the supplier 1 to 1 exchanged about 8 of them to me, BUT here comes the hectic job, I myself need to uninstalled and assembled it myself. After changing for several months, another batch of those down lights starts to flickered again and called them, this time not so fortunate, I must go down to them and do the exchange................... So what is wrong? Yes, I opted for cheap qualities not even knowing what sort of chips and drivers am I purchasing. Good luck to friends here, go for a reliable LED if you intend to use it for long term.

  5. Hi sforshor,

    Thanks.

    Call Gary 91166069

Tell him u follow Shor blog

He is retail and shopping malls distributor, so try not to post his quotation openly to be fair to both parties.

I am a very satisfied customer though. Go to his warehouse view the quality of his light yourself you will know what I mean. Clean brightness, quality driver.

    Hope it helps

  6. Hi sforshor, can PM me the source and contact for the LED downlights? Thanks!

And I have a question for all. I noticed from many living room pictures here that there are easily at least 8 downlights. Compared to a traditional round tube of say 40W, doesn't the LED downlights consume more power? E.g. 8 x 7W = 56W.

My current old home living room is powered by 2 x 20W E27 bulbs and it is bright enough already. I can't see the power savings of LED in the case of LED downlights. Please enlighten.

    PMed, good luck.

Well for the LED light matter. I am not an expert on this but I can tell you, experience tells. When one uses LED lights, they will just love it.

I try to answer you. One traditional round tube vs LED downlights, you will never have LED light " brightness " and LED definitely longer lifespan. Google a bit.

One traditional vs 8 LED downlights? You on a traditional light but you no need to on all 8 LED to provide you the same brightness, perhaps 3 of it will beat the traditional one anytime. Hope this help, I love the brightness but not those dim dim type of florescent light.
