  1. It has been a while since we last posted about the issues which pissed us off badly.

To be fair to the ID, he is able to get the parquet and painting people to rectify the issues before Christmas.

The feeling of spending time with family and frens in the new place during Christmas and New year is priceless.

Will be wrapping up this thread with an overall review after all the minor rectifications are done.

  2. The aircon in your MBR, can it cool the bed area? have you tried? Seems like it is very near the wardrobe?

I think cooling is not the main concern here, but condensation inside the wooden wardrobe. Mould will start growing very soon unless the A/C is not use. Just my 2cts...

Hi Hansamu and wyx, we tested the aircon in MBR and cooling is not an issue. The point about condensation is quite valid, will keep a close tab on the mould issue. Thanks for sharing

  3. Shall start with the bad experience first follow by the good ones.

Two things outstanding: Parquet and Painting

The parquet thing has been making me very very pissed. The first time round varnishing cant meet the standard, ask them to redo. The parquet flooring came back with more HOLES. Asked the parquet people to rectify, they just came and fill up with some wood filler and paint over it. Some holes are so bad that it sink. And they just painted over it and leave it as it is. Super unprofessional. Will find out more about the parquet company so that our path wont cross again in future.

Tmr my wife will be meeting the parquet people at our place to go through what needs to be done.

Let the pictures do the talking

  4. Hello Xiej0007

Getting my keys soon and start to plan for the next step, could you pm your id's contact together with the quotation?

And, do you still have the link for the couple with red umbrella painting? I kind of like it. Plus can similar paintings that you get from krabi be found in bangkok? If you have any idea that is..

    Thanks man.

I have lost the link for the red umbrella painting.

The other paintings are from different sources:

The tree painting is from Yangon Aung San Market, Taw Win Art Gallery

The wedding and butterfly ones are from Singapore, LJ oil painting

Black and white one from Krabi

The black and white painting u can get in bangkok as I remembered the painter telling me he got deliver his work to sell in bangkok.

    Have fun hunting paintings :)

  6. All the carpentry are up except for TV console. We like it :)

Thanks alot to the carpenter uncle for the smooth carpentry phase. Tmr will be meeting up with ID to finalize the detail of the tv console. Think this is the most tricky part of the carpentry. Finger cross that this part will be smooth too.

Under the reflection of light in MBR, the effect turns out to be different

    gallery_59873_8_25748.jpg

    Structure of the MBR wardrobe.

The structure deviates slightly from what was discussed.

The extreme left top drawer should be smaller as the internal contains boxes for accessories, aka "tofu" structure.

The extreme bottom right 2 rows of drawers will be removed to make space for 2 rods to hang clothes.

    gallery_59873_8_120651.jpg

    Structure for common bedroom wardrobe.

Due to the ceiling column, we have the openings small shelves at the side. We realized that it is too deep, therefore it will not be easy to clean the insides. Told the ID our concern and the solution is to cover up the insides so as to make the depth less deep.

    gallery_59873_8_424619.jpg

Due to the above changes, the wardrobes need to be transport back to workshop for rectifications. It is comforting to see the ID taking strong ownership of the work. During his discussion with carpenter regarding the rectifications (and based on my limited vocab of dialect), i keep hearing the ID saying "Don't tell me it can't be done. It definitely can be done."

To be fair to the ID, the rectification regarding the shelving depth of the common bedroom wardrobe is an ad-hoc request. Strictly speaking, we are on a weak ground to request for the change, especially so when they need to bring the wardrobe back to workshop again. But the ID didn't give any excuse or reason to push this request away. He just agreed with the rectifications.

A line he said today etched in my mind, "The things we do must be nice and good. If it can't meet that, we will just re-do."

Hopefully I can pass this spirit on to my clients or stakeholders too. Respect.
