Hi Shunjou, I think is better to engage local contractor. Firstly, easier to apply for renovation permit and they can be partially responsible for any illegals amendments to done to the house. Secondly, if you have any issues with the carpentry work, etc, it is easier to go back to local contractor for repairs.

Hi AhHui, I just feel that your quotation is on the higher side. My first quotation is quite similar to yours but after painstaking searching around. Finally got one who is RADAC accredited and HDB licensed contractor. His price was a couple thousands below. Personally, I feel comfortable in talking to him. Advice is to search one or two more.

Hi, Some items are cheaper than mine and some are more expensive. Mind to share with me your ID or contractor? Something that I learn while I am looking for ID. 1. There will be haulage fees. 2. Does your contractor supply the tiles for the tiles skirting? 3. Electric Installation is a bit expensive for me although I have not receive any quotation for that. 4. Lighting has to be purchased by ourselves and installation of lighting may be another cost. 5. Will you be installing air-con? Air-con installation charges? 6. You are charged with labour to install vanity cabinet and sink but there is no charges for the cabinet itself? 7. I was charged $700 for 3ft shoe cabinet Is your ID / contractor HDB licensed and RADAC accredited?

Lately, I have seeking for ID or Renovation companies. I realised that most companies are RADAC accredited, about half of them are not HDB approved and some are not even registered with ACRA. For myself, I will prefer to trust the company which has to be registered with ACRA with more than 5 years being registered and certain amount of paid up capital. There are probably some companies with paid up capital of $2 which means in the event of lawsuit, you can only claim up to $2 or whichever amount is the paid up capital. I just want to seek your opinion whether anyone has advice for those companies with or without RADAC Accredited / HDB Approved / ACRA Registered companies. I may get some information wrongly too. I think is reasonable but you should compare more. Your painting is definitely cheaper than mine. I was quoted S$1,300 for a new 4-room BTO. I am still comparing prices.
