  1. Hi all (especially Secretgarden),

We are planning to order the 30-inch undermount single bowl Kraus sink from Amazon and chatted with Amazon customer service online but they have confirmed that this purchase is not eligible for free shipping to Singapore as it exceeds 20 pounds.

However, I read from the above posts that Secretgarden ordered the same sink recently but with shipping fees waived.

Could you please share on how I should ask for waiver or refund of shipping fees?

Or did I miss out something?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi snowdew,

replied you at my thread using mobile but realised your post wasnt quoted.

For the record i bought the 30in undermount single kraus sink. Havent open coz i need to settle other reno stuffs 1st.

Anyway to help you and the rest of renotalk forumers here, here's the steps i took for free shipping to singapore

(provided the promo is still valid)

    1. Find the item and seive it out with amazon global eligible (make sure the item has this!! if not there is no foc shipping!)

    2. purchase item on amazon

    3. chat with the operator on the free shipping

*remember to save chat log just in case*

    4. give them maybe say 1-2days to process and follow up in case they forgot about it.

If you are not able to get free shipping for whatever reasons, you can still cancel the order within that day.

hope it helps any1 who is looking to purchase from amazon. Wanna thank me can treat me bubble tea~~ :good:

  2. Here is my quick review for the different IDs that i have met:

    1. Studio Q: Recommended by a friend. Met a few times, ID was quite young, nice and accomdating.. Pricing wise is ID pricing lor.. BUT ID has left the firm!

    2. English of 西: Met the ID only once, recommended by a friend. He was generally friendly but... we couldnt stand his bad breath (not trying to be mean but even the spouse cannot tahan!). ID left out some stuffs i asked him to quote, not sure if he 4got or it was intentional.

    3. Waiseng: Recommended by a friend. Met once. ID was young, nice.. Have ideas but personally to me, not experienced on potential problems. Pricing some average ID pricing and some high.. BUT ID has left the firm also.. 8|

    4. Exquisite: Recommended by a colleague. Pricing is ID pricing, but the ID is pretty experienced and took time to explain to us on the kitchen door as our wall is not in a straight line. Followed up with 2 calls, very friendly. I think i would have gone with them if we were engaging ID. Her name is nicol. (if any1 want to google) For those who wants the contact, please PM me.

The rest of the IDs that we spoke at expo, i'm not too keen as they are generally sales pinch. :bleah:

  3. LOl! so which ID did you select? :deal:

i wonder how your 3rm 3D looks like :jawdrop:

Oh genesis89, i am engaging a contractor. And in fact, i dont think i'll be getting any 3D as the carpentry is a different contractor.. But i have done some raw layman drawing on the design and dimension of my kitchen. Will post it up soon.

Meaning... i have engaged different ppls for different job scope. And i have no renovation experienced ah!

So fingers cross! Hopefully everything turns out okay!

After my renovation is more or less complete, i will post out the different contacts if they are good.

  4. We are 3 roomer & have experienced the same thing whereby ID choose & pick project size. After meeting them at site & tell them that we are gg for industrial theme, do not want standard stuff like ceiling & console but replaced by bricks wall, some hacking etc, the ID just MIA & don even bother to quote...

oh dear! So did u pay a deposit to them? It's very infuriating how some IDs are like that! :angry2:

I have a few friends who warned me about signing package with IDs and paying them deposit, especially small reno companies that may collapse.. So i didnt sign with any.

  5. Thanks all for the warm welcome! :D

My renovation haven't started but I'm experiencing some hiccups already.

    1. Rectification works is still on going for 2nd week.. And going into 3rd week...

    2. Floor plan: PE needed the floor plan in PDF and I only have the hard copy. Made 5-6 phone calls to HDB and finally 1 person managed to have me the simplest solution. Just pay $5 to get the PDF version online.

    3. Last min one contractor at night inform me that they won't be taking up my project as my case is too SMALL when I have confirmed almost everything!! Even more gek sim as it is a friend. Those who wants to know which to avoid firm just PM me. But I won't post here coz I do not wish to break his rice bowl..

    4. Singpost (wat's new..) delayed the shipment of some of my lights for additional 3 weeks without a proper explanation. They claimed my parcel was damaged but we finally receive it, it was not.

Pray hard the rest of the Reno will go smoothly! Po pi po pi

  7. hi hi!

Your layout looks very much like the one i have, except mine is 3 room and my kitchen is alot smaller.

    Where's ur location?

I see you should have space for sink and hob and oven for one side. (oven in tall unit in about 600mm, hob abt 900mm, sink depending on you but i'm assuming 900mm) but the space between them will be small (approx 450mm). But if you choose to have the oven below the hob you will have more space!

So it depends on what you want actually.

Anyway, for space planning, i'm planning on 2 sides for my own coz my kitchen is only a pathetic 2.6m, can only fit sink and hob on one side and the oven on the other.

    hope it helps!
