    Can anyone tell me if my kitchen carpentry soft-closing brand is not using the brand blum as agreed, approx how much $ should my ID credit note back to me?

    My wardrobe internal carcass is not color PVC as agreed, approx how much $ should be credit-ed back to me?

    My dressing table drawers is not using soft-closing as agreed, approx how much $ should be credit-ed back to me?

    Although my house is very pretty now, there are many things that could be better (before they are left with no other choice).

    They are price-reasonable but not "normal" forgetful. If your project is not my type of tiny 3-room HDB, you might get to see more of their efforts.

    When I say "their", refers to the whole team, the company, tiler, carpenter, painter etc.

    When you dont think you can, say so. Sorry seems to be the hardest easiest word for people who didnt care.

    Hi, chanced upon yr blog and saw we have a similar unit layout. Sorry to hear all your frustrating moments with the irresponsible ID. Hope you can get all the hiccups sorted out soon. I am still looking for a suitable ID and thinking of how to do up the kitchen as I think the kitchen is quite short and narrow. Do you mind posting more pictures of your kitchen. I am having a headache of where to put my fridge, washing machine etc. like to get some ideas from you. Thank you

    So I left for overseas… Still trying to coordinate thru Skype or watsapp. So ard 10 days after signing, I fell in love with the legrand malia switches & sockets series… In the initial quote, they were giving the MK series. Plain white ones…. So I told him that I wanted to change a few, not all. He got back to me saying that I have to buy it myself & they will fix it, but no deduction in the pricing. so I told him, basically its deducting the number of sockets or switches but no change in amount. How is that even possible… So now I ask him, what if I add sockets & switches, are you going to stick to the same price or add to it!!! lol… So I got abit pissed & just ask him simply, are you interested in doing my house reno…

    To my surprised!!! The Grand ANSWER WAS “I HAVE THOUGHT TWICE; I AM NOT INTERESTED IN DOING YOUR HOUSE”!!! Wow… I was taken aback here. So I told him, send me an official email & get your manager to call me. So came the manager, another Kuku, “I will look into the quote & get back to you” . The next day the manager sent me a watsapp msg saying that he was sick & won’t be calling me. So I voice out my concerns that he needs to take this seriously & I want to settle this whole issue ASAP. He called me saying that he will take up the whole project. I said NO! How do you want me to trust you & your company after all that happened?

    I am rather lucky that we havent started the reno & I was waiting for the cheques from the banks & the initial depo was only $100!!!

    So a few days later my ID called my apologising, I told him tat now the decision is in my wife, as there was plans to meet up to choose tiles & such… My wife was pretty upset…

    I told him to send me the official cancelation letter. So after 3 days, no letter or msg.. When I msg him, he said his admin is preparing it. I took the chance & called the admin, she know nothing about the letter. L So she said she will get her manager will call me back.

    Now, Account Manager called me, asking me on why I am cancelling the project with the company… I said to her is this the 1st time she’s hearing this, she said YES!!! I had to go 1 whole big round & explained everything to her. So she came saying, contractual wise, if you were to break the contract, the penalty will be 10% of the whole amount quoted. So I told her, its your ID who cancelled, not me. & now you are telling me to take a senior ID. Can I trust you guys? & where were you since the day your ID called off the project? So she agreed after getting approval from the director to cancel off the project at no charges… My deposit will be returned too.

    The story continues...

    OMG, this is exactly what happened to me. But I didnt get my deposit back. I stick to the same company after talking to their GM, he suggested to change a different ID. Sigh~ BOTH are equally the same type of "heart-breakers".

    Can I not pay my ID the last payment?

    He is supposed to complete my renovation before lunar 7mth.
    I have been disappointed way too much. I will just skipped all the unhappiness felt before and during the start of my renovation. Cos the house is quite pretty now. BUT the final touch up? Delay and giving all sorts of excuses on the day itself. Only to find out things are not done on the day itself. "forget date is the most common excuse", "cant make it due to another site", "my mistake, i'm sorry". WHY KEEP SAYING SORRY WHEN YOU CAN JUST PUT IN MORE EFFORT TO GET THINGS DONE.

    13 August i asked last of the last last? yes. BUT when no one turns up. I call than I know the tiler stuck at another site. I SPENT MY PRECIOUS DAY WAITING FOR WHO? :curse:

    18 august say the coming wednesday want everything settle for me.
    21 thursday evening, tiler came. but when i called than I know carpenter and painter never come.
    22nd august say 23rd saturday 3pm. pls pls pls pls pls last last last.

    ok saturday cannot, nvr mind.

    tell me the date. tuesday 26 august. phone not picked up, cos landed himself in hospital. (overwork by taking up too many projects right?)

    BY THIS WEEKEND? how many by tomorrow by this week by next week I have heard. I gotten my keys 7th of May, I signed my contract with them 9 of April. :jawdrop:

    I am so PISSED. :curse::curse:

    September 1st, not done, I will be back cursing.

    So it considered finally over. After many sorry-s & psps-es for delaying minor touch ups.

    My house is currently without a unit-number plate, with cracked floors and existing sharp edges pending for "touch-up" which I still dunno when ("tmr? next week? maybe?").

    Anyway, I want to SAY that

    MY electrician is SUPER freaking good!!! LOVE him MAX. He did the fan, some added cove lightings and some of my Taobao wall decor on behalf of the ID's electrician (because the person never exist?). Its a RIGHT choice to find our own electrician. He will pop-by my place randomly to check on my renovation progress. I bump into him twice in my new place and he said he was nearby so he came up to see if there is anything he could do (no one ask him to). Even before we start our renovation, (those "empty" weeks waiting for the hacking approval from HDB) he went up few times to see if anything can be done instead of us having to call him up. Super nice and proactive guy (boss). Also, his answers to our requests is either "ok, can" or "nope, cannot", no complaints and no excuses which I appreciate loads. Thumbs UP!

    yar. told id. will do changes to it. we try to use only the right hob, since we are not heavy cooker.

    you had your hob so close to a carpentry? that's a laminate or kompac top? if its a laminate with plywood backing, i will be worry that it wont last with it being so close to flame and there could be a worry abt fire hazard.

    what color is ur paint? i choose to paint my in sail white, but the color turn out yellowish like yours. me and my contractor was there when they just started painting. quickly stop them and contractor change the paint to another white paint. sail white appear white in the catalog but turn out yellow. weird...

    I am changing to white. :good:

    just before i left the place for my 1st visit, the bifold door for the toilet and alu grilles arrived. but during my 2nd trip back, only grilles in common room and yard are installed. toilet doors are no where to be seen. according to tiler uncle, they made mistake with the door, so contractor got them send back. :( hope that they are able to replace it by tomorrow.

    another problem... grilles are the yard has 3 panels. i end up having locks knocking on to each other. :(

    Coming towards the end of renovation.

    All doorworks, worktop, shower screen, final painting, fan, TV, speaker, curtain installations etc. 1 by 1 is coming in!

    Is the wall color ok? I wanted white, is it too yellow? Still acceptable right?

    Decided to engage id due to busy schedule and frequent flying.

    Flooring was laid with the wrong color from what I requested. ID admitted is their mistake so they will be changing it. Just that they made some ridiculous comment which make me super angry.

    I wanted Evorich Hazelnut, the color was "american walnut" dunno from which flooring company.
