  1. I almost bought the Unit at Block 788B, corner unit at level 6, facing the school last June.

Quite upset with the agent as we are in constant contact and I did tell him we are waiting for our previous flat to be sold off before we can commit.

The agent do not want to wait and close the deal 3 days earlier before we can come in with the offer.

Oh well, those are the days, I bet now there's tons of maisonette unsold due to the drop in property demands.

  2. Curious to know, what is your unit sq.m3?? Me staying in 788B , 144Sqm3 ...with bomb shelter..

  3. Hi Nazza,

A dryer is okay in my opinion. I did considered to buy one back then.

I do realise it takes just overnight for my clothes to get dry, thus i drop that idea. :)

But the Washing Machine area is small thou, you need to stack up the dryer on top of it and by doing so, you have to remove the existing wall mounted hangers.

    That's practically my concern initially.

  4. Hi Sherwinsm,

I'm not so sure of other Generation Mansionette but I've noticed the rain (seriously heavy) hardly comes into the Service Balcony for my Gen 3 Unit.

But the moisture content is really high thou; the area can feel cold and damp at times.

I really think you should consider having the installation of your proposed cabinet at the Balcony on later dates, stay in for a couple of months first to observe.

However if your proposed laminated cabinet is extended/ part of your kitchen; then consider using other kinds of material which can withstand the moisture.

Bro Cleong is very right on it.

Besides renovating a maisonette isn't cheap. my pocket still hurts and i'm only 80% completed at the current moment, ouch.

  5. I have bad experiences (not with ikea) with such mounting.

The whole support dropped down. I ended up purchasing 2 Ikea pole support and use it as pillars for the shelf on the highest level.

Probably will use this (if it is really good) as my next DIY project for my Study room

    Thanks!

  6. Wah,Test history.

    I only know

5 Rm - 130++sqm. Storeroom, Balcony, L-Shaped Stairs, 1 wash area, Kitchen, Study room, 3 bedroom above, 2 toilets above

Gen 1 - 150++sqm. Utility Room, Balcony, L-Shaped Stairs, 1 wash area, Kitchen, Dinning Room, 3 bedroom above, 2 toilets above

Gen 2 - 150++sqm. Dinning Room, Study Room, Balcony, L-Shaped Stairs, Kitchen, 3 bedroom above, , 2 toilets above, 1 toilet below (only kind to have Square Layout)

Gen 3 - 144++sqm. Dinning Room, Study Room, Balcony, U-Shaped Stairs unless Corner Unit L-Shape, Kitchen, Service Balcony, 3 bedroom above, 2 toilets above, 1 toilet below

Gen 4 - 144++sqm. Dinning Room, Study Room, Bomb Shelter, Balcony, U-Shaped Stairs unless Corner Unit L, Kitchen, Service Balcony, 3 bedroom above, 2 toilets above, 1 toilet below

I'm not too sure about those penthouse kind of HDB masionette thou or those weird shapes found in Bukit Batok/ Jurong.

Don't slap me but I remembered all these due to the units I've visited, lolxx

  7. My Budget Walk in Ward robe!

Purchased IKEA Algot System and was hoping to pull it off. So far it looks pretty decent to me :D , couldn't have it on the opposite wall since it is a board wall. Need to crack my head even more :P

Need to slowly furnish up the ward robe and make it more presentable (SAME WITH THE REST OF THE HOUSE :bangwall: )

    How is the review? Good?

  8. Me too!!! You dont have the steel beam? I have the steel beam and pondering to do a bamboo blind instead.

Yours Gen 2 correct? Mine Gen 3. That's the Service Balcony. If you have a steel beam, mine is a Wall, lolxx.

Your waterproofing is a massive issue, to resolve it. Gotta hack the floor like what Bro Cleong mentioned. Apply the coating and tile it again.

Really you should knock your ID's head.

  9. I find it quite easy to use and maintain parquet flooring, as compare to laminate flooring previously. It's either I mop with just clear water (no detergent) or I vacuum. Eitherway it is clean. The colour is very smoothing to the eyes, and like what bro cleong said, its timeless. The only problem is during reno, u really have to find ways to cover it and it's scary. Hacking, tiling or partition work being done over it.

There isn't any much choice for the area I've chosen. I chose the Gen 3. It is 4-5 sqm smaller than Gen 1 or 2. The only thing is it had a clear separation of Balcony and Service Balcony.

The kitchen for all EMs are hopeless lolxx. I find a serious lack of storage room and I think only 5rm mansionette offers that. So gotta cater a lot of build-in cabinet if you're a messy person like me lolxx.
