    hey yangguo, thanks for your kind information... but where can i find the curtain van? any idea what is the company name for the curtain van? we were quoted quite expensive i think... but after bargaining, the person is only willing to discount till 800+ and the samples that we like already out of stock! :help:

    I was quoted by the uncle from the curtain van too.. he gave me around $1k quotation.. although looks not bad :help:

    Then my other half managed to get this one.. for 600+ so took it.. it's quite simple.. but looked ok and worked well so far :(

    Currently, I m still able to receive clear signal fr RTM TV2 & TV3. I believe this means starhub has not turn on my unit rite? (If not wrong, RTM TV3 is under cable channel only). Xlan, do i hv to call starhub to come turn on? Or i jus hv to wait till it's my unit's turn?

    Yup, this means that Starhub has not turned on ..

    When I moved in also the same.. then one day, it just became on on its own.. cannot see TV2 and 3 anymore.. and also some channels need to retune etc 8|

    So if you do not need cable tv yet.. just wait 8|

    Went to the Self-Fix Shop at Tiong Bahru Plaza but they have run out of stocks for wire doorbells...

    Seems to me that most shops sells wireless instead.

    Sounds bad. Seems like not very wise to shift the TV point.

    BTW, does anybody uses the HDB supply doorbell? I went to take a look and saw a doorbell point at the kitchen. Was thinking of getting a wire doorbell and ask my contractor to install.

    I use a wired doorbell.. and got the electrician from my ID to install..

    Yup, its the doorbell point at the kitchen.

    Would like to check with those whom have shifted in. Do you all have any problem with the TV reception? Did anyone experience this?

    During rainy days, I have intermitten sound for Channel 8 (and weird thing is it's only Channel 8) in my bedroom 2's TV. (and only in bedroom 2). I tried turning on my other TV's in the other room and i dun hv such issues.

    The TV is new. so can't be TV's fault. I have oso tried to assign another button and re-tune the tv but result's the same. This only occur during rain. Should i go look for HDB to settle this? If not any idea who? Please advise

    So far, my TV reception and sound quite well even during heavy rainy days.. of coz could be the fact that my point was not shifted.. think can check with HDB to settle this

    1. Lifts not maintained - break down often (27B,)

    Btw, I spoke to the worker cleaning the corridor with spray jet last week. He said that corridor washing is done once a month and they will omit those unit currently renovating. I asked him why he missed my corridor and he said that he could tell from the rubbish that my immediate neighbour is renovating. He assured me he will not miss my unit for the next wash.

    Also, have anybody noticed that there are plenty of fruit flies in the area. They are invading my unit. I left some food in the kitchen and within minutes, there are more than 20 of them buzzing over my food.

    Any ideas how to rid them??? :dribble:

    And yup.. there are fruit flies aplenty.. always come fly over my food.. also even over my kitchen cloths etc.. so best is to keep it clean always...

    hi,

    today went to many DIY shop and couldn't find the magnetic door stopped that we want. we wanted something that look like the one used in the bedroom (the bronze type). most DIY shops sells those plastic type. any idea if this shop sells the type i want? btw where exactly is this shop? would like to check it out. thanks.

    Mine is that time when the gate uncle weld the gate, same time call him to do the magnet at the back of the main door one.. think including installation 20+ cant really remember :thumbs up:

    hi hi, i feel tat the lift at our area like abit spolit one... and also our estate soo dirty. althought most unit under reno, TC ppl oso need to remove those rubbish mah. If not we pay the 3 mth fee for wat???

    Yup, the lift quite spoilt.. the buttons sometimes go off one.. and also the place quite dirty.. seems like nobody come clean one..

    1. IKEA round ball light @ $15

    - Very good for toilets, I used it with a 23W Osram E27 and my toilet is very very bright

    2. IKEA Multi-Directional Spotlights @ $19

    - The halogen bulbs they gave were very very bright, blinding actually

    3. IKEA Dining Light (forgot price)

    - I used it with a 18W Osram E27 and I think it's very good

    Hey, the multi directional spotlight similar to mine.. just that mine got from the lighting shop.. and the bulb they give lousy one :dribble:

    ya they are quite fast..1 person came to measure. 2nd group of people come to install it within 1hr cos they r nearby

    i didnt do L-shape.. did the long one (the whole stretch across the bomb shelter)

    oh ya neighbours,

    those who have stayed in the hse already, remember to check for trace of ants. Then buy ants powder and scattered at that area. Its v effectively. i scattered at corners in my kitchen cabinet and near the door entrance to prevent ants and cockroaches

    the shop beside the coffeeshop sells the ants powder @ $1.80 per packet. buy 1 packet enough already

    i called them already, the uncle said he will take 1 day to come down to measure, then another day to build the rack..is urs also? so troublesome ah? duno why must measure. its just a L-shape rack leh..

    Oh.. that time my wifey called them and told them urgent.. so they just come down and fix.. around 5 min fix finish already.. no measurement anything.. coz the L-shape rack is standard size one

    haha... its so clean cos when we took the pic they just finished cleaning the floor and the floor is still wet lor.. tink now not so clean le lor.. hehe but this is only the first round of cleaning.. they sld be having another round of chemical wash after the reno is almost complete :rolleyes:

    Mine only one chemical wash.. somewhere in the middle of reno.. after the floor tiles etc.. then after carpentry I asked my ID if can clean again.. he said cannot.. coz last time wash liao.. so no choice we have to clean ourselves

    Anyone here did their door bell???? I got a free wireless door bell from the lighting shop, but of no use, cos we already have our own door bell button given free by HDB.. Where to get the doorbell suitable for our home?

    I also got the electric wired doorbell.. however, cant rem how much.. my other half bought it.. price shld be cheap :)

    Finally they had done the first round of chemical wash!!.. my floor looks so clean and nice after the wash :notti: Colours of the wall are up too.. now waiting for installation of lights and carpentary..

    Talking about curtains..... Anyone has good recommendation for curtains maker. My reno should be completing in 2-3 weeks time. Need to source for curtains already. :bow:

    I find my curtain maker not bad.. quite cheap too.. if need contact can inform me :)

    Mine is from Naiya Trading also.. But mine not L-shaped, only for the short corner of the HHS cost $140 liao, we took the 12mm thickness one, cos if take the 10mm thickness only less $20, then the difference of 2mm is translate to i think a few kg (cannot remember liao! Sorry!) more for each level, its somemore recommended by the curtain-supplier, who told us that he can get it cheaper.. Sian..

    Out of my whole reno experience, the curtain maker is the worse experience of all!:bangwall: Not only quoted us so expensive, then deliver wrong curtain and when changed, delivered a stained curtain, took back to wash, the particular curtain became shorter than others.. :jawdrop::notti:;)

    Complained to my ID, but there is nothing he can do, cos the curtain man is strongly backed by his boss.. :bangwall:

    Oh.. that sounds bad.. seems that the curtain supplier tried to cheat u :P

    The thing I like is that after giving them a call.. immediately within a few hours come and put in and complete already !!

    Hi Ling,

    I have set a budget of $800.00 for lightings too. Can only buy very simple and basic lights. No fancyful lightings. My wife is so disappointed. :bangwall: But no choice, have to keep within budget else pocket burnt a big big hole. :bangwall:

    3 small bulbs holders for 2 toilets & bomb shelter-$27 eac

    6 burger lights (haha) for living rooms and 3 bedrooms-$30 each

    so silly bought a tube for the area above the basin in the toilet, but thats cool white so end up different from the toilet bulb...

    the kitchen light is the same silver rim (i believed some others also bought that) for $30 with extra bright tubes.
