  1. I'm a fan of Sealy bed, been using them for 5-6 years now and at that point of time Sealy was not popular in Singapore. However, the reviews of Sealy bed then was already very good overseas and then i made the decision.

Why did i choose Sealy over others?

    • softer than simmons and price within budget.
    • After sales service was superb.

Order a queen size bed then from HN, sign everything, bed arrive and install within a week or so (can't remember too long ago). Then at the point of delivery we were 'sunning' our super single mattress outside so we left it there.

Delivery guys came, install and left. to our surprise they took the super single mattress which was sunning outside, they thought we wanted to throw it away.

Wrote an email directly to Sealy about this issue about disappointing brand name.

Cut to the chase, they give us a brand new Sealy super single mattress. So end up 2 new mattress.

    Fast forward to now:

There are now 1 flag ship store, 3 sleep boutique and many other shops selling like HN.

If you are new, better visit the flagship store as i have spoken to them. Just because the range are limited in sleep boutique doesn't mean they can omit from telling us everything. Hence, still better to go to their flagship store and see and ask questions before making any decision.

Hopefully they still stand by their words and once i get the new mattress i'm planning to write them a follow up email. For me any bed seems fine, most importantly the after sales service has got to be solid.

    Cheers!

  2. I'm sorry I have limited knowledge on the grades of wire even if I'm an elec engg. I would start with a good and reputable electrician and then ask him questions about it. In the line I work I'm more concerns about connectors then wires so I can't give you a good answer. There are a few threads on electricians you can start from there, I'm sorry I couldn't help you better.

  3. I apologize Takaishi, for opening a can of worms, but i too was quite worried about the type of laminates.

Appreciate Bun Bun for sharing the type of laminates and there are a lot of good information from post before 2009, which we need to dig up.

  4. Ah! You mean the T5 light resting on the white egg crate, plastic grid mesh? Wow. I have bad experience with that white thingy because it got brittle after a year or so and have to replace the entire thing. Luckily then it is not use for the toilet encasement area.

Maybe it is just me but i will not accept it to be resting on the white flimsy plastic thing, i would probably fix it to something or hang it from the the pipes or something to secure it. Understand if nobody moves it it will not come down but heat and moisture in the bathroom will degrade that cheap HDB plastic.

T5 is a good light source but i think it can be fix up better, have you ask your contractor to mount/hang/fix it somewhere other than resting on the plastic grid?

if my contractor/ID propose this to me, i'll give them a good look at their experience.

    my 2 cts worth.

  5. So basically you'll need to tell a contractor to do up what you need then purchase your sink, etc.

There are various post here on how people setup their house, you can use as reference point.

Pre fabricated ones also need to adjust to your size.

Think what you are asking is okay as long as you speak to your Interior Designer or Contractor.

most importantly to me is set a budget, and work within it.3 room should be around 13-25k depending on what you need.
