  1. I don't have everything done in Blum but it will be interesting to know that it will be cheaper if you purchase the drawers from Blum and get contractor to do cabinet. I believe that the quote per foot run is inclusive of drawers. Removing it from the quote may not happen but that depends.

If you go to the extend of using hk Aventos then it will be more expensive because one system cost about $700.

  2. You can try shortlisted Afew. As for me, I also shortlist afew after some recommendation by member here and friends around. End up I had decide to let interior doctor did my place. They are one of the most responsive torwards our question and requirement. Friendly, approachable and very practical design ideas .. Worth trying if you haven't find one.. :)

hmm.... siqi, i got 1 question to u. are you somehow connected to interior doctors? i read on your the other thread that you started, and you said you got your keys on end march. now is just the beginning of april (with all the weekends and PH). this means that work had not or maybe just started. if work had not or just started, how can you keep saying they are that good?

Gisellelee you are obvious working at the company you recommended. From one forum thread you can mention you can provide good services etc. Then here you say you recommend this company of yours that renovates ...stop your marketing over here. Everyone knows it

You are right i think there are many of them lurking around.

For those looking for ID/contractor, recommend you to see those members that have undergone renovation and if you like what you see then ask for contact.

  3. Hello,

Our renovation is on going, can anybody provide some suggestions or recommendation regarding carpets on where to purchase as our idea is to lay some 'protection' on the floor. We will be using office chairs so the movement of the wheels may scratch the floor, and also to prevent the feet from touching the cool tiles all the time.

My current ID suggested, office carpet which is much cheaper. or Ikea has a poly-something sheet that place on the floor to prevent scratches.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks~

  4. Kitchen 80% done.

More Kitchen pictures. End of cabinet near washing machine area, encased pipes where more shelves for storage purposes. Now we have a lot of storage.

opposite laundry area where the fridge will be placed.

    IMG_3459.jpg

Square drainage hole that can be open in case of flood to protect the cabinet. (More economical option). Kraus Sink is well proven for no issues.

Fisher and Paykel Hood, hidden. 3 fans. Air movement 800 m3/hr, 60 db on sound.

    IMG_3462.jpg

Pull out drawer for storage, no more taking 10 things out just to get that item.

Two small 'ledge' located at the back of the wall is where the LED lights will be run to give a 'cove' lighting for the top carpentry.

  5. At least we have narrowed down the possible root cause. If hacking is required, then HDB need to answer who will pay for the hacking fees, applying fees, haulage etc.

If want to be even nastier to HDB, ask them to cover some of the defects esp. when it comes to 'water proofing' because it is in their 'policy' to prevent water leakage esp. to those in the bathroom. If not why do we pay so much and not allowed to hack toilet tiles etc?

To be critical, a 'feedback' letter to town council can be done too.

i hope i didn't sound too critical and making a fuss out of a mole hill. If you just want it to be rectified, like your contractor say contact HDB first, ask them about the issue and who will pay if hacking is required.

Because if the leak gets worst and worst, the water proofing will not help you in your MBR as the water proofing is only in the toilet and soon, your neighbour will complain.

Then can ask HDB, if they want 2 issues or 1 :notti::notti: i better stop commenting.

  6. Hi, depending on how fast you want it to be done. We have contacted HDB contractors before and their response are fast, just that the timing etc if i would have a choice wouldn't want to call them. Outside contractor do faster, but more expensive.

After a year, they will still charge you at market rate. This actually is unacceptable to have leakage inside a wall but before we jump to conclusion, i would firstly call the HDB contractor arrange a time and let them diagnose. concurrently you can ask your previous contractor that does plumbing for 2nd opinion.

    Then you can decide.

the 'mold' area is cooler to touch compared to the surrounding?

  7. Raydon, call a contractor to take a look at this, the pipe is much closer to the wall then we think and it actually is 'touching' the wall on the other side. The cement must have 'leak' it across.

There might be a small leak. If the contractor can identify the actual area of the leak, it will be a small job.

    hope this helps.

  8. Saw Daddywinter reply on getting Sink from TB and experiencing choke...

This is his T-blog link 4th page

For those who are looking for good quality sink, please do re-consider.

The bitterness of poor quality lingers far longer than the sweetness of cheap price has been long gone.

Sink is not something you use for a short period so my recommendation is to invest in the best you can afford. There are quality ones that are relatively low price purchased locally with service support.

    2cts worth.
