    quite likely that the handover will be slightly delay. chit-chatted with the security guy the other day. the sequence of handover will be 25A, 27A, 27B, 26D, 26C, 26B, 26A, 25B. Tentative dates of handover will be

    25A - Aug

    27A - Sep

    27B - Oct

    26D, 26C - Nov

    26B, 26A - Dec

    25B - Dec

    Thanks for all the advices and additional information... We will double check in my ID quotation when we meet him this week! This forum is real great, with lots of information! :wub:

    With regards to electronics shops, there are few that were recommended by forummers (list is with hubby) that is cheaper and also, we can also bargain prices with Harvey Norman, we are so surprised when we found out.. Hope this information help also..

    1. Dun buy the electrical stuff now because there will be end year sale and electrical stuff prices tend have discount.

    You may just note down the model that you want and WAIT. WAIT. WAIT.

    2. Do not change copper wire cause it is conceald. Eariler I mentioned that level 6 SP has hidden some information this is because he insist that i need to change the copper wire. My short-listed contractor says no need lah. waste money....

    3. 20 ft kitchen cabinet. Actually if you are going to do a L shaped kitchen, it does not need 20FT in all.

    I drew up the 3D plan and show a contractor and he mentioned that I need only 17ft in all.

    Level 6 SP, mentioned that I must add another $350 if I wanna to have a L-shaped kitchen.

    Additonal point - Dun do cabinet on top of your refrigerator - Y ? you can't change into a bigger refrigerator in the future.

    4. Dun do toilet kerb - Y ? U know it when u visit the showroom, cause I can't explain well here.

    5. Dun do washing machine & refrigerator base - Y ? People dun do it now. Also, you can't change into a bigger refrigerator in the future if you fix the size of your refrigerator base.

    Last but not least, it is really a small flat so we will be saving quite a bit on the furnitures and cleaning time.

    No 3. Kitchen cabinet, is the 6th floor guy told you about top and bottom? Normally it is top and bottom.

    But somehow I still cannot figure out how they calculate. Quote by some contractors, all give different ft!:no:

    2. Concealed pipe, ok, so can ignore this. If any contractors wanted to, at least I can shot back at him!

    ya, what our concern is the item may be outdated even is cheap or no warranty by then we collect our keys. So, perhaps start to design our layout first.

    Yes, better make sure got a good contractor and when it is near completion, then get really to source for home applicances!

    How is your searching for contractors going on????

    Well you can email to them first. U may leave ur contacts on the email or while fax to them.

    Most ID will be finish the quote in 2 weeks time. If they delay more than that you may give them a call. Still if they delay for more then 2 days u can drop the idea of going to their worksite or their shops.

    well i can understand how you feel. as i had been through this before. still while getting quotes you will gain more on what you will know for your house. :)

    Yeah, my wife look after all the small kids and I am the only one hunting for the quotations.

    Occassionally, my sister follow me along.....

    Ask them for quotation and email to me first before I go and look for him.

    Can I do that? Will they want that or will they rather meet up than mail the quotation?

    Recently talked to my neighbours about granite.

    She went to one of the showflats and was told how the tilers lay.

    "Apply a layer of wax, lay, polish the line, wash, and apply something (secret) on the granite again, So that water will not be suck up to the granite."

    My neighbours shot back at the contractors, if water split, immediate wipe it off lah!

    You mean everyday so careless mey!

    So, asked around and came back this answer, granite dont need to be wax again. Those need to wax are maybe resale falt, maybe need to wax to make it clear again.

    New granite actually dont need. If wax again, it will make the floor sticky and artificial. Overtime, the wax will wear off and when light shine on it, you will be able to see patches.

    the flats in our estate have concealed hot and cold water pipes... bathrooms come with mixer taps and shower heads...

    Wow, then dont need to do copper piping, can save the money to buy other things.

    Last night id quote me around $800 (I think so, I dont have the quotation with me now) for copper piping.

    Did you rec' LWT Design flyer???

    Good morning neighbours

    Last night, talk to one id and he asked me whether the piping is outside or inside.

    I told him I am not sure.

    He told me if it is conceal, then it is ok (dont need to change copper pipe).

    Ask why?

    He said in future if kitchen cabinet is up, and sway sway pipe leak (due to pvc, then got problem liao.

    Cabinet might have to tear down. That cost money!

    So anyone knows whether pipe is outside or inside??

    Went to IMM on Friday, speak to some IDs, only remember two of them..:-

    U-home:-

    Basic Package around 13k

    ID seems busy, so he only go thru the basic package with us.

    Not pushy, seems friendly

    Sample reno pictures looks not bad..

    Frontier:-

    Like their design, simple and modern.. :good:

    Showed us some of their wall paper, tiles and lamination samples

    No basic package so we go thru the things we want to do and they will send us their proposal in 3 weeks time.

    ID seems very pro and able to provide good suggestion but got a bit of "artistic" attitute

    After going thru the things we want, he quoted us around 28k! (overbudget)

    But he will itemize our reno so that we know the cost, it's something like ala carte menu..

    So we will struck out those that we dont want and stick to our budget!

    Still sourcing around for IDs...

    Got the quote from U home, way above my budget.

    Too bad......unable to let them do.. really....

    The id is very good and understanding and we can even click.

    But due to budget, I have no choice.....

    Tis afternoon my bf n I went to see some show flats at blk 25A, but too bad all of them closed. However, we will able to view two units by the ID - Homemakers.

    Then we sneaked up to view our unit again n take down some measurements................, I found some leftover orange skins & other can drinks........... :)

    Apologies to OnePostWonder....... my bf & i went over to your unit to take a look........ alittle messy inside but hope tt they will clean up for you before your next visit (sneaking in) or when you hv collected your keys... our main door hv alrdy fix in..........

    Showflats open on Sundays??

    No idea....thought of asking my neighbours whether can go with him or not (he's staying at 15 floor).

    Other than that, seem like no show flat laio.

    Maybe have to wait after 7th lunar month before lots of contractors (diff. companries) started works, then we will have more choice to see and slowly ick and maybe copy or change some style..heheh

    actually wm in the toilet not practical

    firstly, the socket is illegal so if suay suay hdb come and check you got to remove

    secondly it's a wet area i.e. moisture level very high, your wm will spoil very fast :D:)

    I have one solution, the socket will put outside the tiolet wall.

    Had requested for quote of budget 20K; level 6 ID/Contractor quoted us 28K. Sigh! Will wait for him to get back to us on a better quote before we go down to see him again.

    Oh, that is very expensive.

    My shortlist contractors quote me around:

    Less than $25K!!
