    Contractors/id always like that.

    Give lots of excuses saying this no good, that no good.

    Remember, you stay in the house, not them.

    And remember, you pay for it.

    And also never heard that undermount is not safe.

    Before I moved to jalan membina, my previous house sink also undermount, use it for more than 11 years, never heard sink drop.

    So, sont believe all those crap.

    Be firm, tell the contractor you want to do this, dont give me excuses.

    For the window grill, it is in the quotation. Dont by my contractor.

    Remember tiolet windor also do. Air con window also do.

    But I am sure your contractor will again say tiolet window nobody do want...tell your contractor bull sh.it.

    Thanks for sharing. Ok, guess so confirm can be installed inside toilet then, thought i remember wrongly. Will get my id to install for me inside the toilet, since it can be done and not cant. Yah, i think the sink i will most likely do undermount then, but yr contractor is different, my carpenter is telling me more people is doing top mount and that under mount is not safe/good and etc. Guess, carpenters dont really like to do undermount, cos it's definately more work for them. :P

    Understand your situation. I think shouldn't overly anxious about it unless its too close together. Whether one is higher than the other or not, its all about balancing. Whether it comes out a gua call 既济 或 未济 also have to depend on other factors.

    Just imagine, water come out from tap....is higher than stove. Water reach basin hole....it is lower than than stove.

    If water basin and stove not side by side, how can we talk about "gua"?

    Same comments by my contractor and I insist them drill 1 hole for me! They gave lots of reasons like collect dust. If got dust, then use vacunm to suck the dust our lor. And nearly quarrel with my contractor.

    The top latch? Maybe you try to call hdb? Your block (ground floor has a name and phone no. at the notice board), you may try to call him/her about your case.

    The top latch got problem lor...there is no bottom latch for me cos my contractor did not drill the hole for me, he say if drill hole for the bottom latch, it will be dirty cos will collect dust/ dirt. :(

    Hi VIT, so far my metal gate is ok....dont have the prblem. You mean the top or bottom latch? For what I know, it is better not to latch the bottom. Latch on top will do. I dont know why as my contractor told me this.

    Hi All, just to check if anyone of you have problems with your metal gate??? The latch of my gate seems to be faulty....I used to get my contractor to repair for me....now that the renovations are over, dunno who to approach already.

    Any neighbours have the same problem as me?? or have any contacts where I can call??

    Hi PUR

    1) I ever saw my neighbour install storate heater inside the toilet.

    2) It is better to under mount. easy to clean. Top mount afraid in long run, black fengui will appear in the silicon.

    3) Window grills may types. I do cheap one, so long it can lock will do. (cos I have small kids around). 5 room cost about $900++.

    4) Curtain...I am not sure cos I do the curtain and is badly done. Probably gonna change all the curtain again!!!

    Hello All Neighbors,

    Will like to ask those neighbors who installed storage heaters, it’s installed outside the toilet or inside? Cos my current new id told me that it will be install outside the toilet, but I thought that’s for city gas heaters right? Storage heater will be inside the toilet right? Anyone, install a storage heater plus an additional instant heater? :P

    Also, for kitchen/toilet sinks, top mount or under mount is better? Can share any advise? :)

    Last but not least, can share how much u spent for the windows grilles and curtains? Will like to know what’s the price range is like, and anyone have any good and price reasonable contacts to recommend? Thanks in advance!! :D

    Yes, most of the house I went to (visit my friends and neighbours), all got tv in front of their bed.

    Some even got 42 inch lcd tv!!! Just cover it when no in use lah, that is what I read on line. Cover it with a cloth. Dont need to do any drastic change. A very simple and easy solution. Cover it when not in use.

    I think its alright. Mine and many friends/ neighbours also the same. Anyway, its the "in" thing now. So far nothing happened to them.

    Hi IVY, I couldnt say I am better luck or whatever.

    I believe everybody has their own luck. Your luck is different from mine.

    And also, my needs and wants also different from yours and others too.

    eg) I am very contented if my family and my kids are well and safe. And I have a job that financially able to support my family. I am happy already.

    Others might want to strike rich by having fsm audited the house.

    Others might want to have safe and sound family, etc....

    Different pple, different wants.

    What matter most (my view) is when you family is safe and sound, in good health and your family members got stable jobs , that is a very good fengshui already.

    About the 4d at fu lu shou, I dont believe those thing. If I can predict 4d very very accurate, then I might as well keep it to myself. If that person can predict 4d for others, then those toto, turf club can close shop liao.

    Talking about poison arrows, I just remember about reading something similar from this master chang website at fengshuiyinyang.com. It seems like so many forumers are are talking about him, I was curious to check out. I think the way he explained shows the depth of his understanding. If I didn't remember wrongly, should be under a section in FAQ.

    Maybe once I get over my phobia, will check him out.....well really don't know when.....I think you should know better.

    So now your aunt strike again after shifting back? I heard that there's one fsm in fu lu shou who gave people numbers to strike 4D, do you happen to know?

    Can source already lah.

    Get more quote and compare.

    It is tiring and given the time you have, it is better to do it now...to spread out so that you wont feel stress out.

    1 point you MUST do:

    1) What you want. Make a list of what you want. Think carefully and list down what you want. eg) Mable floor? Granite floor, Laminate floor? Kitchen top granite? Solid top? etc....

    Then use the same list and source for quotation. Of course with you floor plan lah.

    i've havnt recd my BTO key yet.. as per HBD, its stated the completion date will be ard Sept..

    i'm wondering, if now i starts to look for contractor or ID will it be too early too kaisu? :P

    by the way, my love nest will be at fernvale courts, anyone staying near there? :)

    My goodness....you really suffer in the bad hands indeed. Hope right now you and your family are ok and blessing.

    Things like flying star, ba zhi, water, poision arrows lah...etc....really make pple very confusing.

    My house was audited also told my fsm told me many poision arrows, my windows must hang his items (hey, not cheap, quite expensive) and in total about 15 to 19 of them.

    Also my kitchen design make it very hard for us. Very awardward design. But if I live in bungolow, ok lah, kitchen sure very big. I live in hgb flat!!! Kitchen space already small. How?

    During that time, I keep looking at the diagram FSM gave me, I am unable to do my top cabinet...space lost!!! A few days later, I fax my ktichen cabinet design and my fsm say ok. I just huh??? Can huh? Ok huh? Funny right?

    Then my heart told me, if I go to my friends house and look the his window and outside surrounding, it still the same wat, many poision arrows....that prompt me not to buy any.

    So far, I only follow the painting, position of sleeping and the ceiling lights. The rest all did not follow. And my heart told me: Keep my house clutter free, clean and bright. That will do lah. I gonna install ceiling lights at two of the ceiling in my house (not according to the fengshui), but thru my own heart and feeling. Just install the lights. So that at night, can switch on the light to make it bright. I dont facny placing this and that, my house is not a shop.

    Good that you dump all and make you feel good. That is the purpose right? Must feel good and happy with family members.

    Tell you the true story.

    My aunt use to strike 4d often.

    On day, out of nowwhere, our nighbour, (a fens ghui master) came, see her house, asked her to shift the dinner table.

    You guess what? My aunt never strike any 4d from that day nowards!!!

    My mum told my aunt off, why shift when you are actually quite well off????

    Now you shifted the dinning table and now, all gone liao!

    Nice of both of your understanding. I was just commenting out of a good intention that hopefully the ignorant may be aware.

    Just share a bit, last time I was naive and innocently blur, went through quite a few forums chatting with 'experts', 'experienced', 'practitioner', 'senior' in the forum on feng shui. There were flying stars, bazhai, which element produce or destroy which element, place crystals, buy fountain, sharp corners, doors, toilets and so on and so on until I seem to be well equip in my house. Within a short period, troubles keep looking for me. Fines, Father fell down, Mother got back preblems, brother left the house, colleagues turn enemies and many others. Thanks to all the recommendations from the 'advisors', place at this angle, put at that spot etc.

    Then I decided to engage a Fsm to solve once an for all.....turns out to be another nightmare.....one after another kept asking me to buy this and buy that, using color rugs, paint this wall, put painting there, old coins, shifting shoe cabinet, putting water here, windchime there, animals here, crystals there, wear beads, wear jade and etc. Name it and I got it. Worse of all, my health takes a toll, persistent illness haunt me. (Read about Honeygals story....she knew whayt I'm talking about)

    The turning point was when I dumped all those 'stupid' things out of my house, then as if like waking up from a dream....everything turn for the better within a month. Later, while reading some feng shui classics, realised all those recommendations from both forums and fsms were not "proper". It was exactly just like what GPP was writing.

    Agreed.

    Many things still depends on each individual ba zi, spouse and children.

    Some pple ba zi can have this and that. While others cannot.

    And he/she so happy and they share over here, out of goodwill. While others maybe be not due to their ba zi not the same as him/she.

    For general ideas on fengshui tips, there are tons of web you can find in google.

    Over here, pple share their experiences and joy.

    Alot of people like me, come to forum to read, to ask and seek suggestions.

    some people tend to follow blindly and then blame the poster for wrong information.......

    but i do believe these poster could not be blame becos out of goodwill, they somehow or at least try to contribute something. Think we shouldn't sarcasticly critize these advisors.

    Instead those 'innocent people' should be more careful and do their own research.

    When everyone that lives in the house is happy as a family, healthy and safe............ then it's good fengshui already. We shall just read and learn, and not anyhow adopt to jeopardise anything else.

    Yes, I do read online about feng shui.

    I only know very general...not those in details.

    But one thing I know, thru online and other pple comment, is that dont anyhow place water inside the house.......

    I am sorry that your life is in a mess when follow tips....that have to be careful indeed.

    I am a happy person? Well, generally I am a normal pple in the street. Normal life, family, works, peaceful.

    I never buy any fengshui stuff even my house has been audited with recommendation of having to buy this and that.

    What I usually advise pple is to have a clutter free house. Neat and clean. Very general point of view. Nothing to do with any ba zi or whatever.

    No offense to you too. Here is not talking about who's right and who's wrong. Neither is talking about who's the best. Its undarstandable that you comment from from a not so in depth feng shui point of view.

    In feng shui there is only one truth, either good or the bad happens. If you arrange feng shui wrongly, a happy family will turn tragedy, a smooth job will encounter many obstacles, money not enough, the law goes after you and etc.

    You seem a happy person now but wait until you or other innocent people adopt his 'tips'. Especially in topics on 'water'. Go on, try it?!!

    These are the people who never concern for other people's well being when they spit words out of thier mouth. Knowledege a little but want to act like an advisor.

    I just hope that those people who read be careful and don't end up like me before. I anyhow pick up 'tips' or advice from people who appear 'experience' and ended up a mess in my life. No offend and not trying to be sarcastic. Go ahead and adopt his 'tips' or wealth star activation and in no time you 'll go through my experience.

    Ask that GPP to back up his advice using the original chinese classics. Don't just talk empty or get a "kaki" to copy some chinese from a book/newspaper cutting to impress.

    So this is not about who's right and wrong. This is about the welfare of every forummers here.

    Before I begin, no offend to everybody over here.

    I thought that the thread is merely for general knowledge and fun.

    There is no right or wrong.

    I dont understand why you guys must fight over who's right and who's wrong.

    What gain you will get if you are right and if you are wrong?

    Just like martial arts schools, each school claim they are the best. You are best, his school are the best, no, mine are the best, no I am the best. etc....and then? FIght occured lor.

    In the end...what did they get? Nothing. If he win, so what? Right? Why make oneself unhappy? Life is short. Enjoy it.

    So long as you are happy, your family happy, prosperity and good health, breadwinner has job and all smooth, then that is the best feng shui you ever get no matter who is your fsm. Right?

    Anyway, just my 2 cent worth.

    Hi NOBODY

    My house whole floor including the kitchen floor is done up using granite.

    Kitchen top is also granite using Imperial White granite.

    Now waiting for another 3 years before upgrade my toilet with counter top: Blue perl.

    So far, my floor granite is ok and shiny.

    Kitchen granite floor ok, not slippery probably we cook less except when my mum-in-law come to visit and cook everyday...but still not slippery and sticky. Unlike homo tiles...it kind of sticky and oily...

    I am so sorry to hear that!

    Hope everything's goes well to you and your family.

    But for me...I have my new house audited but I never buy any items from them.

    It simply too expensive and would not believe their assistance as she told me without buying the items, you will strike lottery after 3 years (something like that).

    Also, as you can see my post, I am asking GPP and others very general fengshui tips.

    And some of the tips are very general, no harm nor harming pple.

    And not go into extent of having your ba zi read and implement something that might change your life.

    I am here to learn general feng shui simple and easy to use tips.

    Anyway, I dont care whether strike or not.

    I only concern is to have a happy and healthy family.

    Got work and not retrench.

    In my view is different. Feng shui masters has caused a lot of miseries to me in my past. If can means can, if cannot means cannot. By anyhow giving advice to people or me, these masters have gave me hopes and later dashed (That's what they did and were very confident about what they suggest). The worse is going through the stage call hope and trying to follow their suggestions.

    You may be born lucky and happy so I guess you don't understand the pain of going through that.

    And now I read something which is similar to those (lousy) masters' application, of course I would like to question the authencity. Maybe I talk abit straight forward but no point avoiding my question or bit around the bush or use another post to talk 'peace' etc. In the posts I'm sure you can read that it is objective and wanting to clarify the concept.

    Therefore I hope forummers don't anyhow take advice literally. Feng shui if activated wrongly can cause a lot of miseries.

    If you dont believe something, move on. Dont stop and argue.

    It pointless to argue about it right?

    What gain everybody will get if the arguement keeps going?

    Answer: Nothing.

    Everybody have the right to believe in their own belief.

    Just like religion.

    Some is buddhist, some is christian.

    Buddhist believe in something where christian dont believe in.

    So there bound to be argument. What for right?

    Just like me and my spouse, can only use 2 colours in the kitchen....:(

    could you advise if the color of kitchen floor tiles will affect d fengshui of the kitchen?

    i've selected black color floor tiles and read before that black color is a water color.

    havent decide what color for the kitchen cabinets though but most probably will be using white color and glass doors.

    Please bear this in mind, real important.

    Id/contractors can talk impressively until you fall in love with it. That is only 1 part.

    You still need to feel it and see it. I mean showflats. You MUST see their showflats (only 1 unit, but a few).

    I source for more than 15 id/contractors.....

    Please never give up, source for more if you are not satisfy.

    There are good id/contractors out there.

    Take your time to sources.

    Remember, you must see it and feel it. Not talk only.

    If talk can make a customers sign the dotted line, then I am sure many would like to switch jobs to become id/contractors.

    GOODNESS! It sounds really horrible what they did... I just had a meeting with their GM (Max's Image) yesterday and yup, as what everyone said..I was sold by the things they say..but the ID I spoke to seems so convincing, pro and experienced... and he was also referred to me by someone else whose home was very well done up... I was wondering if it's just that particular ID who handled your case, Kimmy...

    I was even discussing with my husband if we shd engage them for the reno since we have already looked for so many ID companies..abt 8 companies.

    Those we were quite keen did not get back to us and those that were responsive gave very mediocre suggestions.....so torn!!

    I thot Max's Image was the answer for us already until I came across this forum discussion topic...think I'm back to Square 1.

    Anyone with differing views?
