I've seen the pictures of yours and that's partially contributed to my decision too. Thanks for the help babe! I just hope to be able to add some warmth that a bit of wooden carpentry would have been able to bring to the mix. Hopefully I can find some good ideas in styling the bathroom!

Ok so I've finally overcame my dilemma in the toilet and made some drastic decisions! We have now decided to go with a wall mounted sink with no carpentry under. If we need any storage what we're going to do is get some IKEA storage stuff below! We put money down for the toilet accessories and a granite kitchen sink as well. I never realised that picking out these stuff cost so much as well. In the end, after all that pain, we didn't even go with either my ID's option or the IKEA vanity. Which is a waste but I didn't wanna risk the clearance as I've measured 12cm clearance to my discharge pipe but i measured 10.5-11cm clearance from the back of the Godmorgon vanity. Hopefully the lack of carpentry can be made up with decorative stuff like candles and an indoor plant. *Popipopi*

Hihi! PM-ed you!

Hi we decided to go for the cheap option of getting a stucco wall. So there's no code (:
-
I did think of that and I asked them whether they happy to do it not but the price I cannot justify cause we were quoted for casement and they say if I make 2 drawers need to top up for one more mechanism... Not that I mind but if I can get IKEA to install and save some $$ I'll be a happy lady! Yup that's what I'm referring to.. I read online that the solution to this is to twist the drainage pipe parallel to the wall so that there's enough clearance to close the drawers... But I'm not sure if we can actually do that... I wonder how the IKeA installers actually do it... Hmm...

I'm going to take your advice considering all the stuff you've gotten from IKEA!! It's near Castlery so I'll check out over the weekend. Hopefully we manage to get something! I love deep deep seats where you just sink into it... The feeling after a long day at work.. Haha! But my fiance and me quite tall so sofa not deep enough also not comfortable to us and our neck also need support...
-
Did the sofas pass the butt test?? I'm looking at the Tana or Corla one... Just need to know if it feels good!
-
Tampines that terrible ah? My flat so near there I thought it might be more convenient! I'll go ask during the weekend... Thinking of going to check Castlery out. We still can't decide on our furniture~

You've done a wonderful job coordinating and it's coming to the end of your journey! Hang in there! I can't wait to see your end product!! -
For just the master bedroom carpentry... top and bottom... so IKEA actually works out to be cheaper... I just wonder the trip down and the installation how much does it usually cost... We're only doing one toilet... the other one will just use the pedestal sink HDB installed..
-
I think it's a little short too... and honestly the usable space might as well don't have... my toilet carpentry for the top and bottom cabinets a little ex so it's like almost $1100 already... And that's without buying the sink and tap yet... That's why even if we have IKEA come install for us also cost wise shouldn't vary that much? Do you remember what were the costs like when they quoted you?

Can almost see your completed project alr! So excited for you! The study desk and book shelf where you get from? -
Hi Kara!! I remember you nearly went with them. I so agree that their finishing is nicer than traditional one... The issue I have with my current design from the ID is that they can't give me the drawers cause they say the pipes will prevent the doors from closing. They just sent me the new design today. The drawer is the small white part as they say the top is the pipes! I don't like the design. I mean what can I do with the small drawer?!? So if it's not too much hassle for them to install for me I'd really rather go with the prefab one in IKEA... My ID's going to ask his carpenter what issues we might face... The GODMORGON range is solid wood though I do have shower screens in the bathrooms.

Ok! I'm in quite a dillemma at the moment and I wonder if anyone can help me!! Originally, we decided to let the ID do the bathroom carpentry i.e. top and bottom cabinets but they said it's not advisable to use drawers cause of the piping clearance required which I understand. I found the Godmorgon washstand with 2 drawers which I loooovvvveee and it brings my overall costs down by about $300- $400 inclusive of the sink etc... I was just wondering if anyone's got a suspended IKEA washstand? How was it installed? Did you need to convert any piping? And any reviews after use? This is the stand that I'm looking at! My concern is the drainage pipe (picture below) that doesn't look like my drawers can close if I go with it? Anyone got experience with this? Thanks!

Well, nothing's happening on the reno to update at the moment so I've been MIA for so long.... We finally started our appliances sourcing and here's our shortlisted models for our fridge, washer/dryer and also our TV... We're trying to spend no more than $1,500 on each so these models fit perfectly into our criteria. With the HN's sales uncle's intro at Suntec I'm convinced and so is the fiance after I brought he down to see the models! I work in Suntec so it's so much easier to just go here and look see, see look... Uncle even recognises me already. [sorry uncle we indecisive so never buy from you yet!!] We also went to Courts to compare price and one thing we've noticed is that the service standards are vastly different!! Has anyone felt that the Courts staff are more aloof? It's like they cannot be bothered to make their service more personal and instead appear to be "if you want to buy come talk to me, if you come talk to me the price there is there and I cannot help you"? Whereas, my experience at HN was much better and the pricing was the same?? I'm going to go to GC at Marina Square at lunch later to check the price of the same models out. Anyone's got other places to recommend I go see appliances? Here are the models that we've shortlisted! Fridge - LG GT-M5091PZ - 507L This was the most convincing pitch I've ever had! The uncle actually compared like Samsung and LG for me and I originally thought maybe cause the Samsung one the model cheap so not as good but I realised the points he highlighted was also vaild for the expensive models! Most important point is that the "blower" vents inside the fridge that improves circulation! There's much lesser vents in Samsung fridges compared to LG ones and also the shelves are what the uncle calls anti spill or something? The freezers are larger than the equivalent Samsung ones as well. There are also other small points that I cannot remember but we are convinced that LG's the better one! Washer Dryer - 9/6KG INVERTER DIRECT DRIVE WASHER DRYER F1409DPRW We were originally going to go for the Samsung one but got convinced to get this one mainly cause of the steam technology and direct drive motors. Also cause this one is Made in Korea! TV - LG 49 INCH ULTRA HD 3D SMART TV Our criteria for TVs very simple 49-55 in TV at under $1,500. I think my house going to be filled with LG stuff already... Anyone has any reviews on LG products? I've had their plasma TV for nearly 10 years already and it's still in perfect working condition and the fiance's used their washing machines for a very long time alr! XOXO, Sapphira

IMG should work... -
I realised I never formally blogged about the laminate choices that me and the fiance made. We took about 1 hour in all which I think is a major achievement considering all the 3 hours meetings I see some of you guys have had! The ID say we very decisive. Hahah! I think it was easy for us because we both had the vision of white for the main carpentry and wood for the trimmings and the 3D images have proved us right! But even though I say that right... Truth is white wood grain laminates also got a lot ok? So we developed a system.... I pick 2 or 3 that I felt fitted the style we were going for then the fiance decide the final choice... So here we go! Kitchen carpentry Main laminate Trimming Backsplash Countertop Wardrobe Main Laminate Internal PVC Master Bathroom Remember the ugly carpenty... I've decided to invert the colours for me laminates so the main and trimming colours are flipped. Main Laminate Trimming Counter Top That's all for now folks! XOXO, Sapphira

Good practice for when you have a blog one way you can do it is take down the walls with the doors to both rooms and do a new wall to join the rooms.... then you'll have a really big and long room!
-
I cannot visualise it! You got floorplan? Hahah!
