hi strawberry pear.. what a detailed list for the young to the elderly in the RC haha. I think those suggestions are great! Particularly like the parenting class and the study groups for the kids. And yes, I totally support teaching our kids the mother tougue. And maybe can have dialect class too! haha. cos i cant speak my dialect well at all. haiz... sad.. Gadgetman.. any luck with your lights today?

think have to seal up one door.. but can try cos they seem to have diff approvals for diff units ..

Hihi good to see you and wife just now at strawberry_pear's hse. =) I think submit to the office downstairs is faster as HDB said TPY Branch office also will passed it to them to rectify. So cut red tape and go straight.
-
me too.. what time u all going??

hi i think re Twin City there is no discount they can give as per my previous post.. (long time ago). haha. BUT they can offer $200 servicing vouchers which can come in handy. Also the materials they use is Class 0 and 3/8'' and 26mm piping. so therefore can consider.
-
Hi Ms White & Alister.. have you check with Twincity? how is their quote to you? is it more ex? cos i tot their pricing and service was quite good hence introduced to all that time.. I was also told by Twin that 'made in Japan' & the 30000BTU thingy is soon facing out. also my frd got bad experience with Allbest.. not sure why but something to do with piping one. think like they will pipe in the shortest way (but also the ugliest way) so cannot fit in their design or something.. but they are certified la, so maybe more safe also..
-
Hihi from all of us.. which floor and unit are you at? maybe we can go see see since you've started reno liao. =) keke

Hi ill not be able to go see aircon with you all on Sunday as i'm organising Xiao Hong Dian (little red dots) with my frds. will prob end late evening.. Sorry but ive call twin city and they say just quote my big name can liao. Wahahahaha if u all can read up on alister's link on air-con. very detailed. good. ive checked and found all inverter are R410A.. Insulating Class 0 is best if not u can choose 1/2 instead of 3/8 thick form if no class 0 is given. but generally class O is still the best. Diameter of copper shld be 23'' and pipe size (eg 10mm or 12.7mm etc) differs according to the fancoil u choose. hope this summary helps when u go shop for ur aircon. =)
-
o sorry re the servicing... it shld be 1 fancoil $40. 1 fancoil use one voucher worth $20. Each voucher is in denomination of $20. so if u service 1 fancoil it cost $40 u use $20 voucher. you must pay cash $20. if u service 3 fancoil $40x3=$120. u can use 3 voucher ($20x3=$60) you top up $60. Hope this is clear. Total they will give us $200 worth of voucher for you to use. Explaination for 2 in 1 and system 2, 3, 2+1 etc.... 2+1 is 3 aircon = 3 system also. 2 in rooms and 1 in living. for 2in1= 2 aircon in rooms Only. 3in1 is 3 aircons in rooms only. hope this helps. also mit starmax has 4 checks.. so can consider. =) JO

hi to all neighbours, my one-penny worth of opinion:- Fridge get Made in Japan. Can last very long. After buy and put into place, dont ON the fridge until 4 hrs later so that the machine can settle down then it will not spoilt so easily. likewise if u wanna shift hse, off it then wait for 4 hrs later before lifting it up for shifting. Yes, there are inverter and non-inverter ones. i just got Mitshibitshi Folio. Freezer at the bottom. Harvey Norman for this model MR CL38J -T has $300 discount (while stock last) Hence its cheaper than those neighbourhood shops (i've checked their pricing). Got $80 robinson voucher also. was told it will use est $11 per mth for electricity bill (inverter liao) But the discounted price is still q ex cos its from Japan and not made in Thailand. -$1599. (blessing from my mother-in-law *grin*) As for washing machine, i heard Thomson is 'lao-zhao-bai' and has proven itself thru the many yrs.. brandt and whirlpool not bad i heard also.. but thomson super ex la... but think i'll get that cos very slim with its top loading design (the drum inside function like those front load). Heard Jap brands not as good as those made in euro countries.. but not sure la as for aircon, to all who are interested, i've chked and seems like Twin City prices cheaper than Gain cxxy. Also Gain cxxy uses class '1' pipes while Twin uses Class 'O' type. Class 'O' is better. Ive asked for the bulk prices, they say will give us $200 worth of servicing voucher. Each service (if you got 3 air-con) is extimated at $40-50. Hence you will be able to have 4-5 FOC servicing. Whether you ON your air-con anot, its good to service so as to keep the machine work longer (not sure true anot! haha) THen ive chk the piping and insulator etc, all same as ALLBEST- copper wiring at 23'' inches. this is impt. As mentioned in previously, i personally feel both Twin City and Allbest can get. prices similiar. (Twin $1-5 cheaper only) but now with bulk we can get servicing vouchers la.. ALLbest cannot. very fixed prices. As for whatever model you want, check up ALLBEST first and then tell/ bargain with TwinCity. eventually if you decide to get with other dealers or Allbest also nv mind. just no $200 vouchers la.. so if u still interested.. then i can collate the CONFIRM list and tell Twin by a deadline say 31OCt? Anyone after that no more vouchers if you still wanna use Twin la.. Allbest is also good btw.. cos it has been awarded CaseTrust. =) hope tis helps you all... JO

COngrats to all collecting keys! this is going to be so happening. YEAH! As some has requested for the list to include email addy, contact no. and occupation, do PM me if you wanna yours to be included and allow all to know. ;0 Deadline is by 25 Oct. Also for air-con, if we want, we can all grp tgt and ask them for a better quote since now we buy in BULK. haha... (just a suggestion la) also for those who wanna give up the door, my ID advised not to since the door is good quality and cost abt $300. He suggested not to exchange it for bi-fold which is aluminium. but up to you la cos i know some of you dont like the door design rite.. also no space once we open it. haiz.. also re doremi check on the citigas of $246.. citygas told me its free for 1st time applicants! So this is good news to all new couples. Shivan - thnks for the advise on the electric heater. I dint know that cos i always on the heater for 10-15mins before each bath!! same for all my family mbrs! which means if my bro baths 3hrs later, he on for 15mins again! haha no wonder our bill soooo ex! so THANKS! I got reply from HDB regarding the hacking. Due to fire safety rules, one room can only have ONE door! *for those who been to my place.. think you'll understand this- if i hack the wall b/w my MBR and BR3 (for WIW), then i must seal up the BR3 door!! Meaning entry to my study rm(BR3) can only be from my MBR! argh! So for those considering to hack that wall.. got to replan your design!
-
o one more thing. I just called Citygas. They said use gas definitely better except cannot 2 person bath in diff toilet at the same time! haha. so if you do cooking and one person bathing OK can. cos the gas to cook and to heat the water is diff. the gas for the water is only 5litre, hence one person no problem even if its half an hour for Dino! LOL but not enough capacity for two toilet. just have to space out your bathing time la. haha. if not, cold water can be quite healthy too la. haha Electic ones bill can be quite high so if don wanna spend then settle for Citygas ba.

-
Cracks?? Leaking??? FAINT! Think better call HDB so that they have some QC. cos if it happens to 11th floor, it may also appear somewhere which we may not be aware of.. so gotta start INSPECTING when we go. hahaha
-
hmm u can try Design Profession opp our block. Look for Kelvin. Quite friendly patient and most imptly, can talk my frequent changes. haha. cos we will design something then next thing he knows is i look at some magazines or hear from friends, then decide to change this n that and he has been quite nice la. not too ex also. Im doing my hse as showflat with him but dont know why still haven get my keys! ARGH! went to IMM ytd and got more ideas on the hob/ sink/ sofa/ dining set etc.. kinda fun experience. Think the more we know the more we can have a better discussion with the IDs. Cos at the end of the day i feel the house must bring our the owner's personality, likestyle. !! So dont be so stressed. Im sure you will eventually find a good ID and have a beautiful house!!
