Thanks for the appreciation. You'll be one of my testimonial in this forum when it comes to AV purchases. Previously, someone in this forum tried to sell a LG HTS for above $1.6K. I asked what so special about this system. He said its "specially tuned by Mark levinson", whatever that means. This is a classic example of being "fooled" my clever marketing gimmick. No disrespect to Mr Levinson, he's a great musician. End of day, one must audition for themselves a HTS with a given budget. Avoid HTiB unless you dont have a budget. In fact i would advise against HTiB, save the money & get a proper HTS when youre better financially equipped. Avoid Soundbars as well unless its for your bedroom. Bro, what did u get for yourself? Hi Courts & harvey just sells mass produced hardware. Chances are, the salesmen knows nuts about AV stuff. Point in contention was when someone in this forum claim that plasma is lousy technology, as an example. This info was passed down from these salesmen. Of coz, this info is inaccurate. Specialised shops allows u to demo your preferred AV set up in a proper audio room. And offer expert advice, even to novices. As a paying customer, u must be well informed before making any purchases. Dont buy base on what the salesman tells u. Buy only after u auditioned them. Cheers

Yes, Onkyo is easier set up than Denon, IMHO. Check the Tannoy speakers model. $250 is way too cheap for a adequate system. cheers

B&W shop is either at Lavender Street (along Spore Casket) Shop's name is The Experts. Or E77 at Adelphi. The shop is located next to KEC. look for keith. For your budget & your penchant for a 2.1 system, there's the CM series ($1.7K a pair) I think there's a promo package for this beautiful B&W speakers. get a 2nd hand receiver & maybe a brand new Sub to compliment it. $2.5k can stretch a long way. Once u audition the CM series & u say its no good, then I have nothing further to add. Cheers

Hi Tannoy speakers, which model? Revolution? Arena? Subs. Look no further than SVS, velodyne & Im going to add Paradigm now. My bias against Denon receiver is my own opinion. U should demo 1st before buying. Cheers

Even if they come out with a super full HD with 3d TV, it has to be in the size range of well above 55". Furthermore they arent many movies with 3d content. Again, 3d is not a new technology, IMAX produced 3d content many years ago. Its different hype as theyre using a new platform nowadays eg LED, LCD etc And not many movies warrant a 3D effect. Bro U & I probably face the same issues with perceptions & negativity of a plasma TV. Some think plasma is no good, dying blah blah without any evidence on what theyre blabbering about. Just becoz LED is the latest technology, they think is good. Hearsay & vested interest, esp from salesmen form these silly perceptions. cheers

Bro, Panasonic plasma is a good choice. Do take note that it consumes more power but probably not as much compared to an aircon. The color contrast & pix details are more evident if compared to LED or LCD specs. But LED wins in terms of brightness if tats your cup of tea. cheers

You must be off your bollocks making this statement. Plasma is old technology? let me ask you, has LED or LCD managed to get their black pixels to become really true black? Can you also say that LED possess a better pix quality compared with a plasma while watching in HD format? i rest my case. I hope you have your info accurate about Plasma being phased out. If its pleasing to your eyes & wallet, go for it. You shld test out the LED capability when youre watching dark scenes or in a darken environment or in HD format. I always put down the blinds in my Entertaiment Room to emulate a cinematic effect. Highly doubt an LED will create this effect but by all means, if LED is good , then go for it.

Harmon Kardon Im guessing your hubby mustve bought it from AVOne, Courts or best Denki. Correct me if Im wrong. For this brand, its associated more for karaoke & not for movie watching or music listening. And its not even cheap at all. Maybe you may ask your hubby to reconsider this model. Lack of info means no reviews or people arent bothered. A good place to visit will be Adelphi. There's loads of AV shops that caters to specific budgets. What receiver was being packaged with this speakers? Cheers
