  1. Midea Air-con Review: Terrible Quality, High Repair Cost.Dear all, If you are looking for new Air-con, my suggestion is DO NOT choose Midea. I have purchased one Midea air-con (system 4) 2+ years ago from All Best. The outdoor unit breakdown at least 6 times within 2014, the same parts spoiled again and again. (total 6 Valve spoiled, 4 Valve have been repaired or replaced and 2 outdoor unit has been replaced). But the problem seems never been fixed. Unfortunately, the same problem happen again last week with my unit and I have to pay S$260 just for replace the Valve, because it already out of warranty. (After I complain to their customer support, they wave S$60 transport fee for me.) Now, I decide to buy a new air-con if the existing one spoil again. The unit is totally beyond repair. Maybe Media have the rights to not responsible for their product after warranty period even it is a totally faulty product. But I don't think it is worth to pay S$3000+ for just 2+ years life span Air-con. If anybody want to see the prove, please email me pingzimumu@gmail.com, I will show you all my service form. 3rd season 2013: One Valve Failure 2nd season 2014: Three Valve Failure 2nd season 2014: Replace the whole outdoor unit after Valve Failure again after replacement 3rd season 2014: One Valve Failure 3rd or 4th season 2014: Replace the whole outdoor unit again after valve failure again same day after replacement 2nd season 2015: One Valve Failure again. 2. Following review from another user. I though my recent encounter experience with them was devastating but after reading through the review from thread starter it seem that mine could be just a small set-back. Summarize: Do re-consider if you are looking at the brand of Midea as your air-conditional for your future apartment. I don't normally post such review so pardon my lengthy story as it's full of anger in between. Part 1: I purchased my System 3 in early 2012, my first issue started occurring somewhere around middle of 2013 whereby the room closer to the condenser unit intermittently start blowing hot wind and other room work fine but isn't as cold as before. In end of 2013, the room affected issue become persistent. The service man diagnose and claim that it is due to a faulty expansion valve which he did a replacement for free as it's under warranty period for 2 years. Part 2: The issue re-arise early 2015, whereby the problem again started to become intermittent follow by persistent over the span of several month. So recently, had called up the company and was quoted the standard charges of service call $60.00 for transportation, labour and diagnostic fee. When the technician came I had explain to him on the issue occurring and without further diagnostic he say the expansion valve is faulty. I ask him again, don't he need to do some diagnostic or measuring to determine the fault. He decline and claim that the only possible fault. So for the replacement part of expansion valve is $260.00 as it is no longer under warranty. After changing, everything function well as per normal condition. Part 3: 5 days later after he did the replacement, the similar issue re-surface but it happen intermittently. I call the technician directly and he drop by my place 3 days later. During his visit, it was blowing cold air and he refuse to do further check claiming there is no problem. He shared based on his experience after changing the expansion valve there is could not be any other fault which cause the air-con to function in this manner. He added, he had help many customer to change the expansion valve before and there no need for him to re-visit their home. I disputed and after which he shared with me a illogical analogy. It is something along this line, if you visit a doctor telling him you're having a fever but during the visit and after measuring your temperature everything is fine so there's nothing further can be done. Before he left, he told me if there still any problem then contact him again and the problem must surface during his visit. In another words, I felt as if my integrity is being doubt and an insult of my intelligence. Part 4: One day after he left, the problem re-surface and he came about 3 hours later. I was not at home during this visit. He witness the problem this time round and change the motherboard as share from my family member and him. He told us to monitor again and if problem will to re-occur again to contact him and he will check again. Conclusion: He's the only technician whom do such repair job.Expansion Valve seem to be faulty frequently with this brand.Be prepare to fork up $260.00 ~ 2 year times. I am still monitoring everything as the last appointment happen to be today.
