Hi Pooh_75 No prob! Once reno's completed, I'll let you know and you can come up to kaypoh k? Hi Tippy My ID is Mr Lee Chi Ho from OrangeCube. Am so far very happy with him. But his things wld be on the pricier side. But I suppose tt's what one wld pay for pretty good workmanship (at least seems good to me lah).

Wah Jacky Very very Chim. Saya Dat Boleh understand... heheheh... Wat matters most is we have gotten our flat and if we do intend to sell it in the future, we'll definitely get to earn! Yaay! (^_^) Hi Sci10109 Congrats! Yayy! Have you sourced for your ID yet? Can we go kaypoh your flat when you are ready to "O pen House"? _________________________________________________________________________________________ After 2 weeks of stopping work, my ID is finally going to start work again... Ooh!!!! I want to add on my comments too! The duck rice tastes horrible. The roast pork tastes like rubber. The bak chor mee is ok only and the amount of noodles they give is just enough for sampling (you can finish it off in 2 mouths). That for $3? The curry chicken noodles is nothing spectacular and the you mian from the handmade noodles stall is ok ok... So.... that leaves only the mixed rice stall and the zhu chao stall.... Any comments for these?

Hi Sci10109: We met you this morning @ Blk 79A. I was with my hubby and son and we met at the rooftop garden entrance, then subsequently took the lift together.... Welcome to the forum and the neighbourhood! (^_^)

Hi Alister Hehehe... Paiseh abt Sunday. Really had something on... Explained to you yesterday le.... I'm using your electrician Mr Tan. His quote's pretty reasonable. But hor... He gave me very or biang switches after he's shifted them for me. The thickness of the switch is around 5cm!!! Is this the norm? Am I expected to buy switches for him to fix for me if I want nicer and flatter switches? Btw, thanks for the help!

Sob Sob.... I went to my flat yesterday to try to see the fireworks. All I managed to see were the bright lights from the rim of the fireworks. Cant see the fireworks itself!! Was totally blocked by HDB! So disappointed..... I wanna cry liao..... So high expectations, then now cannot see at all..... Alister, must lombang your flat all the way le.......

Chinese New Year Fireworks!! Dear Neighbours, there will be 4 rounds of fireworks display @ the Marina Area for this CNY Period. Namely: 1) Tonight 9.30pm 2) Tomorrow @ midnight 3) Thursday at 9.30pm 4) Friday at 9.30pm I guess for those who don't wish to go and squeeze with others, Blk 79 is a great place to see the fireworks. Do go and see if you have the time! (^_^)

Hi Redwrym, the childcare is called Club HDB Childcare Centre. My son's attending this school now. As for comments... ermm....
-
Hihi, just to correct, the one @ HDB Hub interchange is on the 3rd flr. Entrance beside the small coffeeshop, near the ex-mama shop. (^_^)
-
Hi Everybody In addition to all the security suggestions, I would recommend u guys to do the same as what me and hubby did. As during the CNY period, most contractors, IDs etc are not working (they usually have a date in which they will start work again, not necessary the immediate monday after CNY). I would recommend u guys to lock up your house using the metal gate and wooden door instead of just the chain and number lock. Then the thieves cannot break into your house le lor....Be kiasu and safe mah... (even thou I don't have anything inside my flat....)

Dear Neighbours Hasbro is creating the world’s first Global Monopoly. They are inviting people all around the world to vote for their favorite city so that the city will make it onto the board. Despite your busy schedules, do go into the website (address as stated below) and show your support for Singapore! (^_^) http://www.monopolyworldvote.com/en_US/world

Hi Redwyrm For my flat, only the tiling is and a/c trucking's done. Not much to see in terms of workmanship. I have a few photos (secretly taken) of my neighbour's flat. Not too sure if its nice to post it up here.... My 2D and 3D layout plans are with me and they are not the computer generated kind. Its the hand-drawn kind. My ID has specifically told me not to put it up in the net... Maybe we can meet up during the weekend/ one of these days and I'll show them to you. They are nothing much but I guess my ID is not very comfy about being so open abt his designs. (^_^)

Hi Tippy My ID is pretty good but he's also slightly more expensive than the neighbourhood IDs below our new flats. We chose him coz we were very very comfy with him (LeeCH) and we've seen his works (the neighbour above us used him and the workmanship is pretty impressive). I think and hope it should be value for money. Another reason why we chose him was even thou we do not have a big budget, ard 25k for a 5 rm flat (on renovation only), he was very willing to work with us and went thru with us his profile. Of course we do have to sacrifice some stuff here and there in order to stay within our budget. He in fact started work on our flat without us paying him a cent! (Coz OCBC was slow in issuing our reno loan cheques) So far he has been pretty prompt to answer my questions and his work is on time. He has been very straightforward and told us the earliest he can complete our flat is end March (even thou we started reno on 2 Jan 2007, coz his workers have a break of 2 weeks during CNY). He is also quite obliging when we asked him to go and oversee the a/c installation (when me and hb are not free). Apparently, he also used to be an architect working for HDB so he's quite familiar with HDB rules (where can hack, where not to hack, why HDB does certain things, contractor issues etc), which is another plus point for him. His minus points would be that his quote is generally more ex than neighbourhood IDs and the electrician he recommended is expensive. He would be slightly unhappy if we do not use his electrician but he will still work with the electrician we choose to use. Oh, and he speaks with a hongkie accent and can converse better in cantonese (oops! Hope he doesnt' see this....) Yep, my opinions and my comments on my ID ends here. Hope it can offer you some ideas what to look out for! (^_^)

Hi Yingsan There are 3 supermarkets in TPY central, 1 shop and save, 2 NTUCs. I feel that NTUC (HDB Hub) offers the most variety. Hope this helps!
-
Hi Gadgetman, The quote does not include any lights at all.... Just installation
-
Hmmmm.... 33 includes all the downlights + flourescent tubes (for cove lights). I do not have a hood. I only have a hob, so tt explains the $30 difference? I don't think there's a chance of this electrician lowering his quote or ID lowering his comission. We're looking for another electrician to quote us. Hope can get a cheaper quote and hopefully my ID will be able to work with him. (^_^)

-
Hi Jacky Reno Status is stuck and left hanging coz we couldn't agree with the electrician's quote. Its really quite ex. came up to $2.3k for my flat!! And it only involves adding some points and shifting some points.... I think the $50/drawer is in addition to what I'm supposed to be paying for my kitchen cabinets and drawers... So if its an additional $50 for a set of blum hinges, issit expensive?
-
Hmm... not to sure abt whether its the blum drawers/ just the runners. Will chk with ID again.... (^_^)
-
Hihi My ID quoted me $50 per set of drawers using the blum system (supplying and installation). Is this price ok? Or overpriced? !!
