  1. Hi all.... I have been MIA for a long time. Did anyone in blk 91 noticed a rattan chair being disposed inside the lift today? Really had a shock when i saw that rattan chair sitting inside the centre lift serving 21st-40th storey. Too bad i can't post the pic here due to administrator restriction for photobucket. Rattan chair in a lift
  2. Indeed i'm impressed too... given the different tones of the grass. this is much more difficult than those "winkplay" those kinda design. side track a bit.. i've got 2 x $100 best denki voucher to let go. anyone interested. willing to part it @$180.
  3. OMG.. shoe also steal. wonder would that idiot get foot rot or etc... maybe shd let him "try" the army boots i had worn. he'll probably get foot rot as i had foot rot back in my active days.
  4. perhaps the electrical wires in ur lights are thinner? i.e. not suppose to be used for such power rating. My electrician has actually used wires for downlight for my heater and my wires actually melted. that's just my guessing.
  5. I agree. sin't the money the used to spruce up for the event taxpayers' money? Well.. i know they can get sponsors for such events but as far as i know... Some of the funding do come from government so though it's not directly taxpayers' money. but indirectly it came from us isn't it? Esp. Those who were in CCMCs will know.
  6. I do agree pretty much too. But this is exactly how the corporate world works. My company also has this kinda ppl. Always doing the uncalled for stuffs like "special" housekeeping. "special" lunch buffet for auditors. "special" treatment for VIPs even if it means to break rules that has never been broken before. And the list goes on and on.... Luckily on that day there were no funeral... Else would the usual rule apply whereby funeral will take place at the pavillion or would the dead would have to give way to such events. (errr... i'm refering to the block party) are we talking bout the same thing.
  7. as to previous thread i guess most of us had "ahem" problem. but i dono if there're exception. i actually asked one of my colleagues who lives at upper boon keng but wierd thing is that she don hv such problem. but as far as i can see... her toilet bowl is exactly the same model provided in tanglin halt. dono if it's due to water pressure or perhaps the sewage. but after changing to the "saniton" brand bowl. everything has been resolved. if u pour a scoop of water after the "ahem" even a half flush would flush properly without any residues coming back.
  8. Yup yup... i agree. Envy those that gotten Pinnacle@Duxton with an average 150K boost. But we're really lucky to get flats here in Tanglin Halt too... Wonder how would our children be able to afford the houses in future. Perhaps would end up taking loans that takes 3 generations to pay up outstanding loan.
  9. actually after testing the new bowl for a few days. realised that big business can be flushed away with "press and release" as long as you pour one scoop of water before u flush. The cover is indeed a little bit filmsy but we can always change the cover ourselves right? places like IMM, Jln Besar sells tons of those cover. And i believe our seat cover should be of standard size.
  10. This "saniton" is dual flush. Press and let go will be for ard 4.5litres and if u press and hold then it'll be a 9litres flush. actually the flushing... still not so strong as i had to flush twice to get everything out after "big" business. but it's considered much better as the "ahem" will not come back even if u flush once. only those bigger pieces toilet paper will not be flushed down the first time as tested. but i guess if u had a pail of water, just pour one scoop into the bowl before u flush, u 'll be able to get everything out in one "press and hold" flush. Actually this brand(and perhaps model) is the same one as the one my mum(in woodlands) has during the hdb MUP. oh ya... just saw "panda312" qns. They did drill holes to secure the nuts. in fact i think two holes were drilled. as you probably notice. "rigel" on had one hole while "saniton" had two on each side.(correct me if i'm wrong bout "rigel"). but i'm very sure they drilled holes on the floor. But since the work is done by the contractors. they would surely have considered the part of waterproofing. didn't really stood there and look at them doing the work. but they had applied silicon to the sides of the bowl. perhaps... they applied silicon to the bolt as well?
  11. ActuaLLY I didn't ask the name of the guy that he called me last week. The chrome looks quite ok. As for the cover.. it's just much thinner when compared to our old "rigel" toilet bowl. See picture for clarification
  12. hi all, i haven been contributing in the forum for quite some time. just had both my toilet bowl changed. they came to press the doorbell at ard 10am and by 11 am both toilet bowl are changed. really fast workers. the indian worker told me not to wet the floor in the next two hours. btw, this time they changed it to "SANITON" brand toilet bowl. the fastening nut at the side are chrome but just that the cover is a bit more filmsy than "RIGEL". but water pressure feels much better than before. haven really put it to the test of "ahem". will update again
  13. it's been some time since i last logged in... undergoing my reservist at this point of time.. :'( some contractors are very inconsiderate as well... they just dumped the used carton boxes for things like storage heaters, lightings, tiles, aircon etc during renovation for owners at rubbish chute and to add on to that.. other owners threw their rubbish inside those boxes as well. surprising thing is that they were not cleared after a week. what if someone dumps a cigarette butt onto those boxes... wonder wat would actually happen. can't these contractor just dump those boxes on their way down when they knock off... guess some of u might know which floor it is.. tsk tsk.
  14. yeah... perhaps soon. but i needa get a new mahjong table. current one is real poor quality. and bad luck too. had never won so far.... :'(
  15. I didn't join THUM last week too. due to i had frens and neighbours coming over for gathering. met one of the neighbours upstairs that so coincidently was my wife's ex-colleague. And her husband had known chairman for a long time. We even had a MJ session together. btw, sidetrack a bit...... anyone knows how much does it cost to do a platform 2.5m x 2m or 5m square area(for putting bed). i'm thinking of getting some modification done here and there but had yet finalise my ideas.
