  4. Hi strawberry_pear, I maybe will visit your unit tis sat - with a towel to test your rainshower But from wat time to wat time ley??? PM me thks. See if I bring enough shampoo.
  5. Sorry BLK79, Monkey see, monkey do. It's approx 3 ft = 1 meter
  6. Here's another air-con calculation : Same approx 1 ft = 3 meters Air-con cooling capacity required in British Thermal Units (BTU's), calculate the volume of your room ie length x width x height (eg. in feet). As a general rule of "BLK79", each cubic foot of space requires 5 BTU's of cooling capacity, so you need to multiply the volume by 5. In addition, you need to add in the heat gain from other sources. These include people (400 BTU's each if there are more than two in the room) as well as computers and photocopiers (400 BTU's each). For example, a room 10ft x 20ft x 8ft = 1600 x 5 = 8000 BTU's. With three people in the room, add 1 x 400 = 8400 BTU's. Add three PC's, 3 x 400 = 9600 BTU's total. So I don't have 3 PCs or the third person, so 9K fan-coil is enough. Oopss... TV in the room .... let you go and calculate, normal 21inch TV or Plasma TV

  8. Hi strawberry_pear & josephine & carelinwen, Wonder if you receive my PM. I m new to writing forum, not sure whether it was sent or not, my outbox empty ley.
  9. I agree with Snuffleupagus. In addition, the non-inverter type has "tick-tick"or "tok-tok" sound every time when the motor re-start. I am going for the Mitsubishi Heavy inverter system 3 (26,000BTU - fan-coil 9K+9K+15K) for my 4rm flat. For long term, the price difference between inverter and non-inverter, you'll recover back in 1 - 3yrs time depending on your usage. The combination is 2 x 9K ON at the same time in the bedrm or 1x15K ON only in the living rm. Also note that to upgrade the fan-coil frm 9K to 15K is abt $100-200 only. Not going for Mitsubishi Electric Starmex 'cause don't wanna pay for the advertisement fees. If you need the how-to-calculate I got from somewhere, PM me.
  10. Hi strawberry_pear, No problem. Yours also sweet ley. She's only 2 n half yrs old n like to make frds but not adults. Maybe can discuss abt their schooling. BLK 79, Wah! Everyone got keys liao. Mine still in process. Maybe Nov. !!
  11. Thks gadgetman. Sounds like at least S$2,000 and abv. I will ask my ID tis weekend but only one reference, no one to compare the cost.
  12. Let me reply/guess some of your doubts from my pt of view (learn frm forum/website) if i m not wrong. Correct me if i m wrong as i m first timer as some of us here. Appreciated. tension z : whether ID or contractors, they use the same type/kind of people for the job. Just like traditional coffee shop & the air-con coffee shop. They make the same coffee but what's the price difference for a cup of coffee? BKL 79 : Thanks for getting to know each other. Can setup a Neighbourhood Watch liao! Who's on watch this weekend??? Zanie98 : I don't think it's a big issue regarding the shower head, just leave it to the one who's doing it. If you manage to find a rain shower head abt $50 - 100, pls let me know. I wan to get one as well. Not those fix type where you have to replace the whole thing - just the head. Thks. Ikoice : Next gathering, is with a banner at the HDB - "Where's my KEYS!". Just joking. josephine : Heater - 5litre not enough for 2 person at the same time. Maybe 15L and abv. whether electric/gas type. Hav to giv and tak lah. My questn if anyone hav the answer or similar idea : Wats the damage for hecking 2 walls between the 3 bedrms and divide into two? It came to my mind after seeing words between ms_white & gadgetman. Yr input will be very much appreciated before i m abt to be committed. Thks. Sorry if i m 2straight forward.
  13. Hi Alister, How to apply if I don't wan the toilet doors? During appointment to get the keys and bring up to them? I think my loan process is almost done, will this delay getting the keys? Did they refunded you the money back to CPF or give you cash? Thanks.

  15. Indoor/outdoor storage heater??? Outdoor electric storage heater next to the air-con ? Need to start sourcing .......
  16. FYI. This is wat i found out. 1) storage heater gas type - install in the kitchen 2) storage heater electric type - install in the kitchen 3) instant electric type - install in the toilet The gas, hot/cold water inlet/outlet pipe are already all built in the wall. There is a switch outside the toilet and in the kitchen. This is for the heater - gas/electric. If you choose the instant electric type install in the toilet, you will need spend some piping money. And the pipe will be expose as well. I had thought abt tat. So i will be getting the storage heater electric type. The gas type share the same pipe as the cooking one.
  17. zanie98 wah! good for you. I waited till my neck long long liao, now cannot lift my head. !! I want to complain!
  18. Hi TP79resident, Check this site http://www.citygas.com.sg/
  19. em .... ms-white & gadgetman I think regarding the heater you have 3 choices (if i m not wrong ): 1) gas heater type - install in the kitchen 2) electric heater type - install in the kitchen 3) instant type - install in the toilet I heard tat the gas type is free and the bill is cheaper. But got noise and smell, just like when you are cooking.
  20. Dino, I read it from the FS website eg. http://www.geomancy.net/ etc... You can also check FS ideas from this forum as well. It says "It should not be near to the main door", so not sure whether "facing" or "nearby" the main door is good or not. But for me, it will try not to. The windows directly to the main door will be covered with a picture. FYI. My renovation is very minimum. Kitchen cabinet w granite top 3 x bedrm laminate (supreme) & 1 x living rm 600x600 homogenous 2 x tempered glass shower screen w kerb 1 x cabinet w granite top & sink & full mirror in mbr toilet No plan for built-in wardrobe/cabinet in bdrm yet because my bed has to go in first then see how. My idea is to have a resort style. So it will be mostly wood. Other than tat, I see most is already done. But will need to buy some lightning & toilet accessories. As for the kitchen sink, mine will be the double hole type. I had thought of your ideas but it will leave a small space to walk. Pls do not copy, or else one day I might walk into the wrong house - just joking.
  21. Hi dino, Not sure the dimension of your kitchen but mine is 2.5 x 5.0m so it's long and narrow. Spent quite some time thinking abt it and drawing it. My kitchen cabinet will be L-shape, the stove will be below the existing cloth rack and the sink will be right angle to the stove. Cloth rack will be above the windows. The fridge and washing machine will be together before the cabinet - to get away frm the oily stove. Have not heard anything wrong sink facing window. But to wat i know the stove cannot face the sink or just next to it. My sink will be facing the windows. Haven't figure out where to put the dining table. It cannot face the main door. Found a tempered glass sofa table which can adjust the height to become a dining table abt S$500.
  22. Hi I'm new frm 79D and had been reading this forum since Aug. Handled up the loan application on 4Sept and had not heard anything since. gadgetman if you are concern about Fengshui, install the stove below the cloth rack. Remove the cloth rack and place it above the windows. That the best place. I had been thinkng about it for a long time. Then you will not need a dryer. !! CraB & ms_white if there are young punks hanging around the blks which make residents feel uneasy, call the police. The station is just at the corner. Or make them patrol the area every 1-2hrs. Alister & gagetman still have room for the dryer? I think the electricity bill will go up as well. !! Alister Yes, I agree with you. The architect does not stay in HDB flat and does not drive. Maybe they have driver. Nowadays the HDB's design is in such a way that all your hanging cloth are not expose. But they didn't think that how our cloth will get dry. The passage to the bedrooms is a waste of space which can use/design somewhere for a balcony. The carpark is dark and ceiling is low. The parking lots only suitable for a Getz model type of car. Keep in mind that whatever is inside or outside your house, you had already paid. So before you remove/replace anything during renovation, just think that it's new and it's your money.
