Haha, I've always been here. You guys just miss my comments. :P

Anyway, mine was a $58 one from TB, and runs on Lithium battery. $58 (+ shipping) gets me 2 batteries, 8GB microSD card, and the peephole itself. If you need a pic just let me know, I'll ping you on how it looks on my door. I do know there are some where the front peephole looks like yours though, so not as big and squarish as mine does.

I LOVE these big solid wood pieces. IKEA just brought in one and seriously I've drooled over it for ages. I couldn't sacrifice one bedroom if not I would definitely have a full dining area! It's the best for entertaining, so I totally agree with you!

Yes, I recently posted pictures of my office. though I must say my shelves are still lacking (hopefully a trip to London would help me with that!) but I guess unless I go to the US I won't be 100% happy with what I find here (everything pretty is so expensive it's ridiculous).

And!! Go to Daiso, get the melamine sponge (they have it in stick form, or just get the bigger individual pieces) and clean your shower screens with those. They work a CHARM on glass shower screens and leave them streak free and sparkling. I use it every week on them.

Either use plain water or spray some white vinegar solution and wipe down with the sponge. Works wonders, trust me. I use the sponge for my sinks, taps (they will SHINE) and the stick for my WC as well.

    Hi Lux & Bykaraanne!

Hijacking cos am so interested in the Daiso sponge sticks too! Shall go track them down (; yes lux, shower screen also my headache cos I don't like random water stains eek

And yes, shaker style is pretty but so is your chosen design!

Your flat is looking really nice!  I especially like your photo ledge and kitchen island :)

Hehe, thanks Rynaed, we looooove those 2 items too!!! Can't wait to display our taobao-ed frames and have dinner parties around the island

Went to snoop and really LOVE your idea of a pegboard in the kitchen!

  3. Drawing Real Talent

Hi all! Been quiet for a while just patiently waiting for HDB to send us a letter to collect our keys...and still no news from them. Thankfully, most of our items can be stored by our respective brands, and we did tell them to hold on to the pieces till March. Our neighbours have contacted HDB, and they did say we'll get be notified by early Feb. Fingers crossed!

My husband and I have been meeting our ID, M, for initial sketches, and I gotta say, I was sooo blown away by her presentation. When we met her for the very first round of design, I was expecting maybe a rough sketch on how each living space would look like. And you know, with most IDs, they tend to have more of a sales background than an actual design one. But this M! I should've known, being a veteran with 20 years under her belt, that she'll pull off something really impressive. To us. It was probably just another day at work for her.

The living room and dining area. Notice how the furniture pieces are the ones

we've already bought. So brilliant! We'll change the curtains to blinds entirely,

to make this look like one big space. I love that she took initiative and

had a few suggestions of her own. We've taken them into consideration,

so we'll see how that goes.

What you see from the living room. The entryway will have a console/bench,

with some baskets below for shoes we often use. To the left is the shoe cabinet.

Our open kitchen is on the right, with some open shelving in the dry breakfast area.

Imagine the area is a dark, royal blue, with our marble countertop. Swoons!

The kitchen. I love that she's smartly shifted the hob area to a corner,

to allow more prep space both left and right. HDB has allocated a space next

to the sink, which would've been quite tight.

    Next up: Hello, Mr Contractor

SO SO LOVELY!! Can't wait to see your kitchen - dark blue and marble sounds absolutely delicious! ^^

  4. I've considered frosted glass doors, but I can't really reconcile frosted glass with the raw kind of look that we're going for, I guess it's more suitable for Scandi designs. Here's a door I've shortlisted. Actually, tomorrow gotta decide. I hope it's matching! Any opinions?

Nice! The black frames fit your raw-look! But personally am not a fan of the pebbled glass - doesn't look very resort-like. Perhaps plain frosted glass would be better? Hmm..

  5. Thank you so much! Your bathroom accent wall looks really good. It's still nice to have clean white bathroom, won't feel so claustrophobic.

As for me, I'm having some trouble matching the doors now, because we geh kiang use different concepts. Hahah!

    Yeah, we didn't like the HDB accent tiles so we decided to overlay with blackish tiles (;

Haha different concepts make it interesting! Hmm, we are using black doors to our rooms (painting the door frames black too). For the toilets, we are using glass frosted swing doors. That's a possibility if you are not into PD doors etc.?
