reno progress is slow at the moment as we're waiting for hdb to approve my reno permit. so far, only the aircon units are up. also, credit to jason, he has tried to start work on areas that aren't waiting for the permit to clear (thanks!).

if discuss before, and still do wrong, i think you are right to insist it be changed. it's their fault after all. -
wow. lucky you. i've missed their pre-season tour of singapore in the past (last visit was sometime in the 1980s i think - too young to get out of my own ). from the evertonians i've heard/knew of so far, nothing much has changed. the team is still a friendly group in merseyside as most of the players are fans themselves and are living (as in really living) in liverpool.

unless vista is different, not sure how the casing concealing the pipes will affect the rainshower. the pipes usually run from the ground up to the mixer, and the screws/installation of the rainshower is above the mixer. if hdb/kay lim can fixed the existing shower head, how is the rain shower different?
-
kay lim should be good. i know because i've knocked every single piece of my tiles (treelodge is also by kay lim). nonetheless, there are still some minor areas that need rectifications.

geeze... that means you are 'likely' to be older than me been a fan since 1983/1984. not many of us around, but that's ok. after all, we are born not manufactured, we do not choose; we are chosen, those who understand need no explanation, those who don't; don't matter. yah, i could have painted over it but i've decided to live with it and cover it with carpentry work, basin, mirror, etc as much as possible.
-
congrats. i got the same pouch for treelodge also. guess new home owners will have the key pouches from hdb... the $10 collected have all been put to good use
-
most definitely! they should have just k.i.s.s. btw, i loved your nick. my fave team you know
-
Well, that's probably right (and most people have probably contributed more than $10)

Sorry for this late post. Just got back from my holidays kor69: The toilet seat won't affect the tap operation, so it's quite ok actually (except that it looks f@#$ ugly with that tap there). BTW, we'll be having the same ID/contractor, i.e. Jaskel, as well. So, I'll probably be popping by your t-blog to look look see see

kitchen not so bad lah. once the cabinets up, can't see much new flat from hdb, have to live with it.

We've met up with the shortlisted contractor and have 'more or less' decided on the amount of renovation that we need. Waiting for the final quotation before we can confirm and start our renovation from November. Hoping for a smooth renovation and we can shift in before the year is over. err... water dispenser fridge doesn't need the pipe. the water is stored in a container inside the fridge (which means you need to refill now and then).

don't worry, hong liang price is good (may not be the cheapest always but definitely not the carrot kind).
-
if probable completion date is end dec, no guarantee you'll be first to get the keys. may end up early to mid jan also. got to take that into account.

On the topic of keys, we are glad that our house keys came in a nice looking pouch. While it may not make much of a difference to the keys, it does make us feel better after paying a @#$% high price for what is essentially 'public' housing. In additional to the key pouch, HDB also provided us with a document holder to keep all the important documents (i.e. stack of stuff we didn't bother to read) neatly. HDB service standard has definitely improved (but I wonder who is paying for these anyway?)

yah man, i think folks from that generation will probably enjoy/like this 'look'. i envy you, punggol vista has a much better looking toilet walls! err... no need to use the master bedroom. my current bedroom (old 4a) is already bigger than the new living room like it or not, guess it's something we have to learn to adjust and get used to.

when's the last time the home owner clean the toilet man -
My first thought was to overlay the tiles. However, pragmatism sets in eventually. I'm still weighing the cost of overlaying it vs living with it. Another alternative would be to install a longer mirror and a cabinet below the sink. It should, at least, serve some practical purposes and reduce the 'exposure' of the tiles. Besides the tap, the only additional feature in the house is the FerroLite partition wall system: "Designed to reduce noise transmission between rooms, the flats come fitted with the patented FerroLite partition wall system. The wall is essentially non-load bearing and made of ferrocement. As compared to other cement-based partition walls, the hollow core of the FerroLite wall cuts down on the need for raw materials like cement and sand. In addition, services can be installed and concealed within the wall with minimal wet works and without the need for hacking." The other Eco-friendly features are found in the precinct: LED for common lighting, solar panels, rainwater collection, recycling chute, etc.
