  1. Hi, I've done multiple jobs pertaining this problem. Ok the proper way of soundproofing is that you have to decoupled the wall, ceiling & floor. Let's say if i soundproof your ceiling, the sound will still transmit through the wall. Have to treat the structural noise (vibration), and airborne noise. Having said all that, it's better to soundproof the ceiling rather than not doing at all. Do note the soundproofing will help reduce noise and not totally eliminate it. It is still possible but i can promise you it will cost you alot Hope this helps
